एलीया म्हणाला, “सर्व शक्तिमान परमेश्वर देवा, आतापर्यंत मी तुझ्याच सेवेत आयुष्य घालवले आहे. पण इस्राएल लोकांनी आपला करार मोडला आहे. त्यांनी तुझ्या वेदींचा विध्वंस केला. तुझ्या संदेष्ट्यांना ठार केले. मीच काय तो अजून जिवंत आहे. आणि आता ते माझ्या जिवावर उठलेत.”
World English Bible
He said, I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
