1ദൈവമേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളെ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെ ആടുകളുടെ നേരെ നിന്റെ കോപം പുകയുന്നതു എന്തു?
1A contemplation by Asaph. God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
2നീ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ സമ്പാദിച്ച നിന്റെ സഭയെയും നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രത്തെയും നീ വസിച്ചുപോന്ന സീയോന്‍ പര്‍വ്വതത്തെയും ഔര്‍ക്കേണമേ.
2Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, Which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance; Mount Zion, in which you have lived.
3നിത്യശൂന്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു നിന്റെ കാലടി വെക്കേണമേ; ശത്രു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില്‍ സകലവും നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
3Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
4നിന്റെ വൈരികള്‍ നിന്റെ സമാഗമന സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്‍ അലറുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ കൊടികളെ അവര്‍ അടയാളങ്ങളായി നാട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
4Your adversaries have roared in the midst of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.
5അവര്‍ മരക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്മേല്‍ കോടാലി ഔങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നി.
5They behaved like men wielding axes, Cutting through a thicket of trees.
6ഇതാ, അവര്‍ മഴുകൊണ്ടും ചുറ്റികകൊണ്ടും അതിന്റെ ചിത്രപ്പണികളെ ആകപ്പാടെ തകര്‍ത്തുകളയുന്നു.
6Now all its carved work They break down with hatchet and hammers.
7അവര്‍ നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നു തീവെച്ചു; തിരുനാമത്തിന്റെ നിവാസത്തെ അവര്‍ ഇടിച്ചുനിരത്തി അശുദ്ധമാക്കി.
7They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling-place of your Name.
8നാം അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളക എന്നു അവര്‍ ഉള്ളംകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു. ദേശത്തില്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാപള്ളികളെയും ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
8They said in their heart, "We will crush them completely." They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.
9ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ കാണുന്നില്ല; യാതൊരു പ്രവാചകനും ശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ഇതു എത്രത്തോളം എന്നറിയുന്നവന്‍ ആരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഇല്ല.
9We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, Neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.
10ദൈവമേ, വൈരി എത്രത്തോളം നിന്ദിക്കും? ശത്രു നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ എന്നേക്കും ദുഷിക്കുമോ?
10How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
11നിന്റെ കൈ, നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ നീ വലിച്ചുകളയുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ മടിയില്‍നിന്നു അതു എടുത്തു അവരെ മുടിക്കേണമേ.
11Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it out of your pocket and consume them!
12ദൈവം പുരാതനമേ എന്റെ രാജാവാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ അവന്‍ രക്ഷ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.
12Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13നിന്റെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു നീ സമുദ്രത്തെ വിഭാഗിച്ചു; വെള്ളത്തിലുള്ള തിമിംഗലങ്ങളുടെ തലകളെ ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
13You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
14ലിവ്യാഥാന്റെ തലകളെ നീ തകര്‍ത്തു; മരുവാസികളായ ജനത്തിന്നു അതിനെ ആഹാരമായി കൊടുത്തു.
14You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
15നീ ഉറവും ഒഴുക്കും തുറന്നുവിട്ടു, മഹാനദികളെ നീ വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
15You opened up spring and stream. You dried up mighty rivers.
16പകല്‍ നിനക്കുള്ളതു; രാവും നിനക്കുള്ളതു; വെളിച്ചത്തെയും സൂര്യനെയും നീ ചമെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
16The day is yours, the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun.
17ഭൂസീമകളെ ഒക്കെയും നീ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു; നീ ഉഷ്ണകാലവും ശീതകാലവും നിയമിച്ചു.
17You have set all the boundaries of the earth. You have made summer and winter.
18യഹോവേ, ശത്രു നിന്ദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും മൂഢജാതി തിരുനാമത്തെ ദുഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും ഔര്‍ക്കേണമേ.
18Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, Yahweh. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.
19നിന്റെ കുറുപ്രാവിനെ ദുഷ്ടമൃഗത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ എളിയവരുടെ ജീവനെ എന്നേക്കും മറക്കരുതേ.
19Don't deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don't forget the life of your poor forever.
20നിന്റെ നിയമത്തെ കടാക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; ഭൂമിയിലെ അന്ധകാരസ്ഥലങ്ങള്‍ സാഹസനിവാസങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
20Honor your covenant, For haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.
21പീഡിതന്‍ ലജ്ജിച്ചു പിന്തിരിയരുതേ; എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനും നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.
21Don't let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name.
22ദൈവമേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തേണമേ; മൂഢന്‍ ഇടവിടാതെ നിന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നതു ഔക്കേണമേ.
22Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.
23നിന്റെ വൈരികളുടെ ആരവം മറക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ എതിരാളികളുടെ കലഹം എപ്പോഴും പൊങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; നശിപ്പിക്കരുതേ എന്ന രാഗത്തില്‍; ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്‍ത്തനം; ഒരു ഗീതം.)
23Don't forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
