1ജ്ഞാനമായവള്‍ തനിക്കു ഒരു വീടുപണിതു; അതിന്നു ഏഴു തൂണ്‍ തീര്‍ത്തു.
1Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
2അവള്‍ മൃഗങ്ങളെ അറുത്തു, വീഞ്ഞു കലക്കി, തന്റെ മേശ ചമയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
2She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
3അവള്‍ തന്റെ ദാസികളെ അയച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മേടകളില്‍നിന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറയിക്കുന്നതു
3She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
4അല്പബുദ്ധിയായവന്‍ ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരട്ടെ; ബുദ്ധിഹീനനോടോ അവള്‍ പറയിക്കുന്നതു;
4"Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
5വരുവിന്‍ , എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും ഞാന്‍ കലക്കിയ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ !
5"Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
6ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനത വിട്ടു ജീവിപ്പിന്‍ ! വിവേകത്തിന്റെ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ നടന്നുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
6Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding."
7പരിഹാസിയെ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്‍ ലജ്ജ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനെ ഭര്‍ത്സിക്കുന്നവന്നു കറ പറ്റുന്നു.
7He who corrects a mocker invites insult. He who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
8പരിഹാസി നിന്നെ പകെക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ ശാസിക്കരുതു; ജ്ഞാനിയെ ശാസിക്ക; അവന്‍ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും.
8Don't reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
9ജ്ഞാനിയെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക, അവന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കും; നീതിമാനെ ഉപദേശിക്ക അവന്‍ വിദ്യാഭിവൃദ്ധി പ്രാപിക്കും.
9Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
10യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭവും പരിശുദ്ധനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം വിവേകവും ആകുന്നു.
10The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11ഞാന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം നിന്റെ നാളുകള്‍ പെരുകും; നിനക്കു ദീര്‍ഘായുസ്സു ഉണ്ടാകും.
11For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
12നീ ജ്ഞാനിയാകുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ നിനക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായിരിക്കും; പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ, നീ തന്നേ സഹിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.
12If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
13ഭോഷത്വമായവള്‍ മോഹപരവശയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവള്‍ ബുദ്ധിഹീന തന്നേ, ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
13The foolish woman is loud, Undisciplined, and knows nothing.
14തങ്ങളുടെ പാതയില്‍ നേരെ നടക്കുന്നവരായി കടന്നുപോകുന്നവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു
14She sits at the door of her house, On a seat in the high places of the city,
15അവള്‍ പട്ടണത്തിലെ മേടകളില്‍ തന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ ഒരു പീഠത്തിന്മേല്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
15To call to those who pass by, Who go straight on their ways,
16അല്പബുദ്ധിയായവന്‍ ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരട്ടെ; ബുദ്ധിഹീനനോടോ അവള്‍ പറയുന്നതു;
16"Whoever is simple, let him turn in here." As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
17മോഷ്ടിച്ച വെള്ളം മധുരവും ഒളിച്ചുതിന്നുന്ന അപ്പം രുചികരവും ആകുന്നു.
17"Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant."
18എങ്കിലും മൃതന്മാര്‍ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നും അവളുടെ വിരുന്നുകാര്‍ പാതാളത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അവന്‍ അറിയുന്നില്ല.
18But he doesn't know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
