1ഉടനെ അതികാലത്തു തന്നെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുമായി ന്യായാധിപസംഘം ഒക്കെയും കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചു യേശുവിനെ കെട്ടി കൊണ്ടു പോയി പീലാത്തൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.
1Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
2പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുനീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന്‍ ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന്‍ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
2Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" He answered, "So you say."
3മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ അവനെ ഏറിയോന്നു കുറ്റം ചുമത്തി.
3The chief priests accused him of many things.
4പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചുനീ ഒരുത്തരവും പറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇതാ, അവര്‍ നിന്നെ എന്തെല്ലാം കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4Pilate again asked him, "Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!"
5യേശു പിന്നെയും ഉത്തരം ഒന്നും പറയായ്കയാല്‍ പീലാത്തൊസ് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
5But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.
6അവന്‍ ഉത്സവംതോറും അവര്‍ ചോദിക്കുന്ന ഒരു തടവുകാരനെ അവര്‍ക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക പതിവായിരുന്നു.
6Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.
7എന്നാല്‍ ഒരു കലഹത്തില്‍ കുല ചെയ്തവരായ കലഹക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ബന്ധിച്ചിരുന്ന ബറബ്ബാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തന്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
7There was one called Barabbas, bound with those who had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8പുരുഷാരം കയറി വന്നു, അവന്‍ പതിവുപോലെ ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
8The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.
9മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ അസൂയകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് അറിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവരോടു
9Pilate answered them, saying, "Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?"
10യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവിനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വിട്ടുതരേണം എന്നു ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
10For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
11എന്നാല്‍ അവന്‍ ബറബ്ബാസിനെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചോദിപ്പാന്‍ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്‍ പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
11But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.
12പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും അവരോടുഎന്നാല്‍ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നവനെ ഞാന്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
12Pilate again asked them, "What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?"
13അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്ക എന്നു അവര്‍ വീണ്ടും നിലവിളിച്ചു.
13They cried out again, "Crucify him!"
14പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുഅവന്‍ എന്തു ദോഷം ചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാറെ, അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്ക എന്നു അവര്‍ അധികമായി നിലവിളിച്ചു.
14Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has he done?" But they cried out exceedingly, "Crucify him!"
15പീലാത്തൊസ് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു ബറബ്ബാസിനെ അവര്‍ക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു യേശുവിനെ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിപ്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിപ്പാന്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു.
15Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.
16പടയാളികള്‍ അവനെ ആസ്ഥാനമായ മണ്ഡപത്തിന്നകത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി പട്ടാളത്തെ എല്ലാം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി.
16The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.
17അവനെ രക്താംബരം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു, മുള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു കിരീടം മെടഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചൂടിച്ചു
17They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
18യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വന്ദിച്ചു;
18They began to salute him, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
19കോല്‍കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ തലയില്‍ അടിച്ചു, അവനെ തുപ്പി, മുട്ടുകുത്തി അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
19They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.
20അങ്ങനെ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ച ശേഷം അവര്‍ രക്താംബരം നീക്കി സ്വന്ത വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു അവനെ ക്രൂശിപ്പാന്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
20When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.
21അലക്സന്തരിന്റെയും രൂഫൊസിന്റെയും അപ്പനായി വയലില്‍ നിന്നു വരുന്ന കുറേനക്കാരനായ ശിമോനെ അവന്റെ ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പാന്‍ അവര്‍ നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ചു.
21They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.
22തലയോടിടം എന്നര്‍ത്ഥമുള്ള ഗൊല്ഗോഥാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി;
22They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, "The place of a skull."
23കണ്ടിവെണ്ണ കലര്‍ത്തിയ വീഞ്ഞു അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; അവനോ വാങ്ങിയില്ല.
23They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn't take it.
24അവനെ ക്രൂശിച്ചശേഷം അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഇന്നവന്നു ഇന്നതു കിട്ടേണം എന്നു ചീട്ടിട്ടു പകുതി ചെയ്തു.
24Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take.
25മൂന്നാം മണി നേരമായപ്പോള്‍ അവനെ ക്രൂശിച്ചു.
25It was the third hour, and they crucified him.
26യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവു എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ കുറ്റം മീതെ എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.
26The superscription of his accusation was written over him, "THE KING OF THE JEWS."
27അവര്‍ രണ്ടു കള്ളന്മാരെ ഒരുത്തനെ വലത്തും ഒരുത്തനെ ഇടത്തുമായി അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിച്ചു.
27With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.
28(അധര്‍മ്മികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ അവനെ എണ്ണി എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു നിവൃത്തിയായി.)
28The Scripture was fulfilled, which says, "He was numbered with transgressors."
29കടന്നു പോകുന്നവര്‍ തല കുലുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുഹാ, ഹാ, മന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ചു മൂന്നു നാളുകൊണ്ടു പണിയുന്നവനേ,
29Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days,
30നിന്നെത്തന്നേ രക്ഷിച്ചു ക്രൂശില്‍ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ദുഷിച്ചു.
30save yourself, and come down from the cross!"
31അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചുഇവന്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു തന്നെത്താന്‍ രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ വഹിയാ.
31Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, "He saved others. He can't save himself.
32നാം കണ്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന യിസ്രായേല്‍ രാജാവു ഇപ്പോള്‍ ക്രൂശില്‍ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ എന്നു തമ്മില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും അവനെ പഴിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
32Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him." Those who were crucified with him insulted him.
33ആറാം മണിനേരമായപ്പോള്‍ ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തോളം ദേശത്തു എല്ലാ ഇരുട്ടു ഉണ്ടായി. ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തു യേശുഎന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു അര്‍ത്ഥമുള്ള എലോഹീ, എലോഹീ ലമ്മാ ശബ്ബക്താനീ എന്നു അത്യുച്ചത്തില്‍ നിലവിളിച്ചു.
33When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34അരികെ നിന്നവരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ കേട്ടിട്ടുഅവന്‍ ഏലീയാവെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is, being interpreted, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
35ഒരുത്തന്‍ ഔടി ഒരു സ്പോങ്ങില്‍ പുളിച്ചവീഞ്ഞു നിറെച്ചു ഒരു ഔടക്കോലിന്മേലാക്കിനില്പിന്‍ ; ഏലീയാവു അവനെ ഇറക്കുവാന്‍ വരുമോ എന്നു നമുക്കു കാണാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന്‍ കൊടുത്തു.
35Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, he is calling Elijah."
36യേശു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.
36One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, "Let him be. Let's see whether Elijah comes to take him down."
37ഉടനെ മന്ദിരത്തിലെ തിരശ്ശീല മേല്‍തൊട്ടു അടിയോളവും രണ്ടായി ചീന്തിപ്പോയി.
37Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.
38അവന്നു എതിരെ നിന്നിരുന്ന ശതാധിപന്‍ അവന്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടതു കണ്ടിട്ടുമനുഷ്യന്‍ ദൈവപുത്രന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
38The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
39സ്ത്രീകളും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവരില്‍ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും ചെറിയ യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മ മറിയയും ചെറിയ യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മ മറിയയും ശലോമയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
39When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!"
40അവന്‍ ഗലീലയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചും ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചും പോന്നു; അവനോടുകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്ന മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
40There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
41വൈകുന്നേരമായപ്പോള്‍ ശബ്ബത്തിന്റെ തലനാളായ ഒരുക്കനാള്‍ ആകകൊണ്ടു ശ്രേഷ്ഠമന്ത്രിയും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ കാത്തിരുന്നവനുമായ അരിമത്ഥ്യയിലെ യോസേഫ് വന്നു ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു.
41who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
42അവന്‍ മരിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞുവോ എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു ശതാധിപനെ വിളിച്ചുഅവന്‍ മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഒട്ടുനേരമായോ എന്നു ശതാധിപനോടു വസ്തുത ചോദിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഉടല്‍ യോസേഫിന്നു നല്കി.
42When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
43അവന്‍ ഒരു ശീല വാങ്ങി അവനെ ഇറക്കി ശീലയില്‍ ചുറ്റിപ്പൊതിഞ്ഞു, പാറയില്‍ വെട്ടീട്ടുള്ള കല്ലറയില്‍ വെച്ചു, കല്ലറവാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ ഒരു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ചു;
43Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus' body.
44അവനെ വെച്ച ഇടം മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും യോസെയുടെ അമ്മ മറിയയും നോക്കിക്കണ്ടു.
44Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.
45
45When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
46
46He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
47
47Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.
