1ഇപ്പോഴോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരേ, ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിങ്ങളോടു ആകുന്നു.
1"Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.
2നിങ്ങള്‍ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കയും എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം മനസ്സുവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാഞ്ഞാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ ശാപം അയച്ചു നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും ശപിക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; അതേ, നിങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സു വെക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ അവയെ ശപിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
2If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name," says Yahweh of Hosts, "then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.
3ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള സന്തതിയെ ഭര്‍ത്സിക്കയും ചാണകം, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലെ ചാണകം തന്നേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖത്തു വിതറുകയും അവര്‍ നിങ്ങളെ അതിനോടുകൂടെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.
3Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.
4ലേവിയോടുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം നിലനില്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന്‍ ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
4You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi," says Yahweh of Hosts.
5അവനോടുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ജീവനും സമാധാനവുമായിരുന്നു; അവന്‍ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ അവന്നു അവയെ കൊടുത്തു; അവന്‍ എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
5"My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him who he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name.
6നേരുള്ള ഉപദേശം അവന്റെ വായില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; നീതികേടു അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില്‍ കണ്ടതുമില്ല; സമാധാനമായും പരമാര്‍ത്ഥമായും അവന്‍ എന്നോടുകൂടെ നടന്നു പലരെയും അകൃത്യം വിട്ടുതിരിയുമാറാക്കി;
6The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.
7പുരോഹിതന്‍ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനാകയാല്‍ അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്‍ പരിജ്ഞാനം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കേണ്ടതും ഉപദേശം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു പഠിക്കേണ്ടതും അല്ലോ.
7For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of Hosts.
8നിങ്ങളോ വഴി വിട്ടുമാറി പലരെയും ഉപദേശത്താല്‍ ഇടറുമാറാക്കി ലേവിയുടെ നിയമം നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
8But you have turned aside out of the way. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi," says Yahweh of Hosts.
9അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്റെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ ന്യായപാലനത്തില്‍ പക്ഷഭേദം കാണിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നിന്ദിതരും നീചരുമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
9"Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.
10നമുക്കെല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും ഒരു പിതാവല്ലോ ഉള്ളതു; ഒരു ദൈവം തന്നേയല്ലോ നമ്മെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതു; നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ നിയമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അന്യോന്യം ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്തിന്നു?
10Don't we all have one father? Hasn't one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
11യെഹൂദാ ദ്രോഹംചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും മ്ളേച്ഛത സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായുള്ള അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ യെഹൂദാ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി ഒരു അന്യദേവന്റെ മകളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.
12അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നു യഹോവ ചോദിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നവനെയും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേക്കു വഴിപാടു അര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നവനെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.
12Yahweh will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Hosts.
13രണ്ടാമതു നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നുയഹോവ ഇനി വഴിപാടു കടാക്ഷിക്കയോ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു കൈക്കൊള്‍കയോ ചെയ്യാതവണ്ണം നിങ്ങള്‍ അവന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തെ കണ്ണുനീര്‍കൊണ്ടും കരച്ചല്‍കൊണ്ടും ഞരക്കംകൊണ്ടും മൂടിക്കളയുന്നു.
13This again you do: you cover the altar of Yahweh with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn't regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.
14എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അതു എന്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ നിനക്കും നീ അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭാര്യെക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ; അവള്‍ നിന്റെ കൂട്ടാളിയും നിന്റെ ധര്‍മ്മപത്നിയുമല്ലോ.
14Yet you say, 'Why?' Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.
15ലേശംപോലും സുബോധം ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരുത്തന്‍ ഒരിക്കലും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ ആ ഒരുത്തന്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ദൈവം വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്ത സന്തതിയെ അവന്‍ അന്വേഷിച്ചു. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ ; തന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭാര്യയോടു ആരും അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കരുതു.
15Did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
16ഞാന്‍ ഉപേക്ഷണം വെറുക്കുന്നു എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം സാഹസംകൊണ്ടു മൂടുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ആകയാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
16For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously.
17നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കുകളാല്‍ യഹോവയെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ഏതിനാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അവനെ മുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നു. ദോഷം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവന്‍ ആകുന്നു; അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരില്‍ അവന്‍ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു; അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ന്യായവിധിയുടെ ദൈവം എവിടെ? എന്നിങ്ങിനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നതിനാല്‍ തന്നേ.
17You have wearied Yahweh with your words. Yet you say, 'How have we wearied him?' In that you say, 'Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of Yahweh, and he delights in them;' or 'Where is the God of justice?'
