1യിസ്ഹാക്‍ വൃദ്ധനായി അവന്റെ കണ്ണു കാണ്മാന്‍ വഹിയാതവണ്ണം മങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ ഒരു ദിവസം മൂത്ത മകനായ ഏശാവിനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടുമകനേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന്‍ അവനോടുഞാന്‍ ഇതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
1It happened, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his elder son, and said to him, "My son?" He said to him, "Here I am."
2അപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ ഞാന്‍ വൃദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മരണദിവസം അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
2He said, "See now, I am old. I don't know the day of my death.
3നീ ഇപ്പോള്‍ നിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളായ വില്ലും പൂണിയും എടുത്തു കാട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നു എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി വേട്ടതേടി
3Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field, and take me venison.
4എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടവും രുചികരവുമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ഞാന്‍ മരിക്കുമ്മുമ്പെ തിന്നു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4Make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat, and that my soul may bless you before I die."
5യിസ്ഹാക്‍ തന്റെ മകനായ ഏശാവിനോടു പറയുമ്പോള്‍ റിബെക്കാ കേട്ടു ഏശാവോ വേട്ട തേടി കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന്‍ കാട്ടില്‍ പോയി.
5Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
6റിബെക്കാ തന്റെ മകനായ യാക്കോബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിന്റെ അപ്പന്‍ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു
6Rebekah spoke to Jacob her son, saying, "Behold, I heard your father speak to Esau your brother, saying,
7ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ മരണത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ തിന്നു നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വേട്ടയിറച്ചി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു രുചികരമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തരിക എന്നു പറയുന്നതു ഞാന്‍ കേട്ടു.
7'Bring me venison, and make me savory food, that I may eat, and bless you before Yahweh before my death.'
8ആകയാല്‍ മകനേ, നീ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു ചെയ്ക.
8Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command you.
9ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു അവിടെനിന്നു രണ്ടു നല്ല കോലാട്ടിന്‍ കുട്ടികളെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക; ഞാന്‍ അവയെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നു ഇഷ്ടവും രുചികരവുമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കും.
9Go now to the flock, and get me from there two good kids of the goats. I will make them savory food for your father, such as he loves.
10നിന്റെ അപ്പന്‍ തിന്നു തന്റെ മരണത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അതു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലേണം.
10You shall bring it to your father, that he may eat, so that he may bless you before his death."
11അതിന്നു യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അമ്മയായ റിബെക്കയോടുഎന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവു രോമമുള്ളവനും ഞാന്‍ രോമമില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.
11Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, "Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.
12പക്ഷേ അപ്പന്‍ എന്നെ തപ്പിനോക്കും; ഞാന്‍ ഉപായി എന്നു അവന്നു തോന്നീട്ടു ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ മേല്‍ അനുഗ്രഹമല്ല ശാപം തന്നേ വരുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12What if my father touches me? I will seem to him as a deceiver, and I would bring a curse on myself, and not a blessing."
13അവന്റെ അമ്മ അവനോടുമകനേ, നിന്റെ ശാപം എന്റെ മേല്‍ വരട്ടെ; എന്റെ വാക്കു മാത്രം കേള്‍ക്ക; പോയി കൊണ്ടുവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13His mother said to him, "Let your curse be on me, my son. Only obey my voice, and go get them for me."
14അവന്‍ ചെന്നു പിടിച്ചു അമ്മയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അമ്മ അവന്റെ അപ്പന്നു ഇഷ്ടവും രുചികരവുമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
14He went, and got them, and brought them to his mother. His mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
15പിന്നെ റിബെക്കാ വീട്ടില്‍ തന്റെ പക്കല്‍ ഉള്ളതായ മൂത്തമകന്‍ ഏശാവിന്റെ വിശേഷ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു ഇളയമകന്‍ യാക്കോബിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു.
15Rebekah took the good clothes of Esau, her elder son, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacob, her younger son.
16അവള്‍ കോലാട്ടിന്‍ കുട്ടികളുടെ തോല്‍കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കൈകളും രോമമില്ലാത്ത കഴുത്തും പൊതിഞ്ഞു.
16She put the skins of the kids of the goats on his hands, and on the smooth of his neck.
17താന്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ രുചികരമായ ഭോജനവും അപ്പവും തന്റെ മകനായ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ കൊടുത്തു.
17She gave the savory food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
18അവന്‍ അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നുഅപ്പാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഞാന്‍ ഇതാ; നീ ആര്‍, മകനേ എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു.
18He came to his father, and said, "My father?" He said, "Here I am. Who are you, my son?"
19യാക്കോബ് അപ്പനോടുഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന്‍ ഏശാവു; എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇരുന്നു എന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചി തിന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
19Jacob said to his father, "I am Esau your firstborn. I have done what you asked me to do. Please arise, sit and eat of my venison, that your soul may bless me."
20യിസ്ഹാക്‍ തന്റെ മകനോടുമകനേ, നിനക്കു ഇത്ര വേഗത്തില്‍ കിട്ടിയതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ നേര്‍ക്കും വരുത്തിത്തന്നു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
20Isaac said to his son, "How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?" He said, "Because Yahweh your God gave me success."
21യിസ്ഹാക്‍ യാക്കോബിനോടുമകനെ, അടുത്തുവരിക; നീ എന്റെ മകനായ ഏശാവു തന്നേയോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാന്‍ തപ്പിനോക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21Isaac said to Jacob, "Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not."
22യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു അടുത്തു ചെന്നു; അവന്‍ അവനെ തപ്പിനോക്കിശബ്ദം യാക്കോബിന്റെ ശബ്ദം; കൈകള്‍ ഏശാവിന്റെ കൈകള്‍ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22Jacob went near to Isaac his father. He felt him, and said, "The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau."
23അവന്റെ കൈകള്‍ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ കൈകള്‍ പോലെ രോമമുള്ളവയാകകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
23He didn't recognize him, because his hands were hairy, like his brother, Esau's hands. So he blessed him.
24നീ എന്റെ മകന്‍ ഏശാവ് തന്നേയോ എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅതേ എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
24He said, "Are you really my son Esau?" He said, "I am."
25അപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവാ; ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ മകന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചി ഞാന്‍ തിന്നാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവന്‍ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു, അവന്‍ തിന്നു; അവന്‍ വീഞ്ഞും കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, അവന്‍ കുടിച്ചു.
25He said, "Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless you." He brought it near to him, and he ate. He brought him wine, and he drank.
26പിന്നെ അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്‍ അവനോടുമകനേ, നീ അടുത്തുവന്നു എന്നെ ചുംബിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26His father Isaac said to him, "Come near now, and kiss me, my son."
27അവന്‍ അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു; അവന്‍ അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങളുടെ വാസന മണത്തു അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഇതാ, എന്റെ മകന്റെ വാസന യഹോവ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വയലിലെ വാസനപോലെ.
27He came near, and kissed him. He smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him, and said, "Behold, the smell of my son Is as the smell of a field which Yahweh has blessed.
28ദൈവം ആകാശത്തിന്റെ മഞ്ഞും ഭൂമിയുടെ പുഷ്ടിയും അനവധി ധന്യവും വീഞ്ഞും നിനക്കു തരുമാറാകട്ടെ.
28God give you of the dew of the sky, Of the fatness of the earth, And plenty of grain and new wine.
29വംശങ്ങള്‍ നിന്നെ സേവിക്കട്ടെ; ജാതികള്‍ നിന്നെ വണങ്ങട്ടെ; നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ക്കും നീ പ്രഭുവായിരിക്ക; നിന്റെ മാതാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്‍ നിന്നെ വണങ്ങട്ടെ. നിന്നെ ശപിക്കുന്നവന്‍ എല്ലാം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ ; നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന്‍ എല്ലാം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ .
29Let peoples serve you, Nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, Let your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, Blessed be everyone who blesses you."
30യിസ്ഹാക്‍ യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ഉടനെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ ഏശാവ് വേട്ടകഴിഞ്ഞു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.
30It happened, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob had just gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31അവനും രുചികരമായ ഭോജനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അപ്പനോടുഅപ്പന്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മകന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചി തിന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
31He also made savory food, and brought it to his father. He said to his father, "Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that your soul may bless me."
32അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്‍ അവനോടുനീ ആര്‍ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ മകന്‍ , നിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന്‍ ഏശാവ് എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
32Isaac his father said to him, "Who are you?" He said, "I am your son, your firstborn, Esau."
33അപ്പോള്‍ യിസ്ഹാക്‍ അത്യന്തം ഭ്രമിച്ചു നടുങ്ങിഎന്നാല്‍ വേട്ടതേടി എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവന്‍ ആര്‍? നീ വരുംമുമ്പെ ഞാന്‍ സകലവും തിന്നു അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനുമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
33Isaac trembled violently, and said, "Who, then, is he who has taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before you came, and have blessed him? Yes, he will be blessed."
34ഏശാവ് അപ്പന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോള്‍ അതി ദുഃഖിതനായി ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുഅപ്പാ, എന്നെ, എന്നെയും കൂടെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ എന്നു അപ്പനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
34When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceeding great and bitter cry, and said to his father, "Bless me, even me also, my father."
35അതിന്നു അവന്‍ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ ഉപായത്തോടെ വന്നു നിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം അപഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
35He said, "Your brother came with deceit, and has taken away your blessing."
36ശരി, യാക്കോബ് എന്നല്ലോ അവന്റെ പേര്‍; രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അവന്‍ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു; അവന്‍ എന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം അപഹരിച്ചു; ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇതാ, എന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹവും അപഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. നീ എനിക്കു ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹവും കരുതിവെച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു.
36He said, "Isn't he rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright. See, now he has taken away my blessing." He said, "Haven't you reserved a blessing for me?"
37യിസ്ഹാക്‍ ഏശാവിനോടുഞാന്‍ അവനെ നിനക്കു പ്രഭുവാക്കി അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു ദാസന്മാരാക്കി; അവന്നു ധാന്യവും വീഞ്ഞുംകൊടുത്തു; ഇനി നിനക്കു ഞാന്‍ എന്തു തരേണ്ടു മകനേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
37Isaac answered Esau, "Behold, I have made him your lord, and all his brothers have I given to him for servants. With grain and new wine have I sustained him. What then will I do for you, my son?"
38ഏശാവ് പിതാവിനോടുനിനക്കു ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹം മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളുവോ, അപ്പാ? എന്നെ, എന്നെയും കൂടെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണമേ, അപ്പാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.
38Esau said to his father, "Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, my father." Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
39എന്നാറെ അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്‍ ഉത്തരമായിട്ടു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിന്റെ വാസം ഭൂമിയിലെ പുഷ്ടിക്കുടാതെയും മീതെ ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞു കൂടാതെയും ഇരിക്കും.
39Isaac his father answered him, "Behold, of the fatness of the earth will be your dwelling, And of the dew of the sky from above.
40നിന്റെ വാളുകൊണ്ടു നീ ഉപജീവിക്കും; നിന്റെ സഹോദരനെ നീ സേവിക്കും. നിന്റെ കെട്ടു അഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുമ്പോള്‍ നീ അവന്റെ നുകം കഴുത്തില്‍നിന്നു കുടഞ്ഞുകളയും.
40By your sword will you live, and you will serve your brother. It will happen, when you will break loose, That you shall shake his yoke from off your neck."
41തന്റെ അപ്പന്‍ യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ച അനുഗ്രഹം നിമിത്തം ഏശാവു അവനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചുഅപ്പനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന കാലം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യാക്കോബിനെ കൊല്ലും എന്നു ഏശാവു ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
41Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him. Esau said in his heart, "The days of mourning for my father are at hand. Then I will kill my brother Jacob."
42മൂത്തമകനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ വാക്കു റിബെക്കാ അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍, അവള്‍ ഇളയമകനായ യാക്കോബിനെ ആളയച്ചു വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ ഏശാവ് നിന്നെ കൊന്നു പകവീട്ടുവാന്‍ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.
42The words of Esau, her elder son, were told to Rebekah. She sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, "Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself about you by planning to kill you.
43ആകയാല്‍ മകനേഎന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്‍ക്കനീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹാരാനില്‍ എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോക.
43Now therefore, my son, obey my voice. Arise, flee to Laban, my brother, in Haran.
44നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ക്രോധം ശമിക്കുവോളം കുറെ നാള്‍ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ പാര്‍ക്ക.
44Stay with him a few days, until your brother's fury turns away;
45നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു നിന്നോടുള്ള കോപം മാറി നീ അവനോടു ചെയ്തതു അവന്‍ മറക്കുംവരെ അവിടെ താമസിക്ക; പിന്നെ ഞാന്‍ ആളയച്ചു നിന്നെ അവിടെ നിന്നു വരുത്തിക്കൊള്ളാം; ഒരു ദിവസം തന്നേ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇരുവരും എനിക്കു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നതു എന്തിനു?
45until your brother's anger turn away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send, and get you from there. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?"
46പിന്നെ റിബെക്കാ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടുഈ ഹിത്യസ്ത്രീകള്‍ നിമിത്തം എന്റെ ജീവന്‍ എനിക്കു അസഹ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ ദേശക്കാരത്തികളായ ഇവരെപ്പോലെയുള്ള ഒരു ഹിത്യ സ്ത്രീയെ യാക്കോബ് വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു? എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
46Rebekah said to Isaac, "I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?"
