അബ്ശാലോം യോവാബിനോടുഞാന് ഗെശൂരില്നിന്നു എന്തിന്നു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു? ഞാന് അവിടെത്തന്നേ പാര്ത്തിരുന്നെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു രാജാവിനോടു പറവാന് നിന്നെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇവിടെ വരേണം എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞയച്ചുവല്ലോ; എനിക്കു ഇപ്പോള് രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖം കാണേണം; എന്നില് കുറ്റം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അവന് എന്നെ കൊല്ലട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent to you, saying, Come here, that I may send you to the king, to say, Why am I come from Geshur? it were better for me to be there still. Now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be iniquity in me, let him kill me.
