1ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന്‍ തന്റെ രാജത്വത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിരപ്പെട്ടു; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു അവനെ അത്യന്തം മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.
1Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and Yahweh his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2ശലോമോന്‍ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാരോടും ശതാധിപന്മാരോടും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരോടും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരായ സകല പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും
2Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses.
3സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടു ശലോമോന്‍ സര്‍വ്വസഭയുമായി ഗിബെയോനിലെ പൂജാഗിരിക്കു പോയി. യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍വെച്ചു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സമാഗമനക്കുടാരം അവിടെ ആയിരുന്നു.
3So Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of Yahweh had made in the wilderness.
4എന്നാല്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ദാവീദ് കിര്‍യ്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമില്‍നിന്നു താന്‍ അതിന്നായി ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോന്നു; അവന്‍ അതിന്നായി യെരൂശലേമില്‍ ഒരു കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
4But the ark of God had David brought up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5ഹൂരിന്റെ മകനായ ഊരിയുടെ മകന്‍ ബെസലേല്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ താമ്രയാഗപീഠവും അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവിടെ ശലോമോനും സഭയും അവനോടു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.
5Moreover the brazen altar, that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tent of Yahweh: and Solomon and the assembly sought to it.
6ശലോമോന്‍ അവിടെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിലെ താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കലേക്കു ചെന്നു അതിന്മേല്‍ ആയിരം ഹോമയാഗം കഴിച്ചു.
6Solomon went up there to the brazen altar before Yahweh, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.
7അന്നു രാത്രി ദൈവം ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടുഞാന്‍ നിനക്കു എന്തു തരേണം; ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്‍ക എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
7In that night did God appear to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give you.
8ശലോമോന്‍ ദൈവത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു നീ മഹാദയകാണിച്ചു അവന്നു പകരം എന്നെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
8Solomon said to God, You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.
9ആകയാല്‍ യഹോവയായ ദൈവമേ എന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ വാഗ്ദാനം നിവൃത്തിയായ്‍വരുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടിപോലെ അസംഖ്യമായുള്ള ജനത്തിന്നു നീ എന്നെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
9Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10ആകയാല്‍ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു നായകനായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും തരേണമേ; അല്ലാതെ നിന്റെ ഈ വലിയ ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും കഴിയും?
10Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this your people, that is so great?
11അതിന്നു ദൈവം ശലോമോനോടുഇതു നിന്റെ താല്പര്യമായിരിക്കയാലും ധനം, സമ്പത്തു, മാനം, ശത്രുനിഗ്രഹം എന്നിവയോ ദീര്‍ഘായുസ്സോ ചോദിക്കാതെ ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ രാജാവാക്കിവെച്ച എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും ചോദിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും
11God said to Solomon, Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of those who hate you, neither yet have asked long life; but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king:
12ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും നിനക്കു നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതല്ലാതെ നിനക്കു മുമ്പുള്ള രാജാക്കന്മാരില്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതും നിന്റെ ശേഷം ആര്‍ക്കും ലഭിക്കാത്തതുമായ ധനവും സമ്പത്തും മാനവും ഞാന്‍ നിനക്കു തരും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
12wisdom and knowledge is granted to you; and I will give you riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you; neither shall there any after you have the like.
13പിന്നെ ശലോമോന്‍ ഗിബെയോനിലെ പൂജാഗിരിയില്‍നിന്നു, സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു തന്നേ, യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു യിസ്രായേലില്‍ വാണു.
13So Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.
14ശലോമോന്‍ രഥങ്ങളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു; അവന്നു ആയിരത്തിനാനൂറു രഥങ്ങളും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരെ അവന്‍ രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമില്‍ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലും പാര്‍പ്പിച്ചു.
14Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15രാജാവു യെരൂശലേമില്‍ പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു കല്ലുപോലെയും ദേവദാരു താഴ്വീതിയിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരം പോലെയും ആക്കി.
15The king made silver and gold to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
16ശലോമോന്നു കുതിരകളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു മിസ്രയീമില്‍നിന്നായിരുന്നു; രാജാവിന്റെ കച്ചവടക്കാര്‍ അവയെ കൂട്ടമായി വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും.
16The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt and from Kue; the king's merchants purchased them from Kue.
17അവര്‍ മിസ്രയീമില്‍ നിന്നു രഥമൊന്നിന്നു അറുനൂറും കുതിര ഒന്നിന്നു നൂറ്റമ്പതും വെള്ളിശെക്കല്‍ വിലകൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെതന്നെ അവര്‍ ഹിത്യരുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും അരാംരാജാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.
17They brought up and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
