യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ രൂബേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്:--അവനല്ലോ ആദ്യജാതന് ; എങ്കിലും അവന് തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ശയ്യയെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മകനായ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ലഭിച്ചു; വംശാവലി ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശപ്രകാരം എണ്ണുവാനുള്ളതുമല്ല.
World English Bible
The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
