1ಸಹೋದರರೇ, (ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವದೇ ನಂದರೆ,) ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವ ತನಕ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ದೆಂಬದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
1Or don't you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
2ಗಂಡನಿರುವ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅವನು ಬದುಕಿರುವ ತನಕ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾಳೆ; ಗಂಡನು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದಾಳೆ.
2For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
3ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಗಂಡನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವಾಗ ಆಕೆ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ವ್ಯಭಿ ಚಾರಿಣಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವಳು; ಗಂಡನು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಆಕೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡರೂ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಣಿಯಲ್ಲ.
3So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
4ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಸಹ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದೇಹದ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಸತ್ತಿರಿ. ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಫಲಫಲಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಸತ್ತುಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದಾತನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ.
4Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.
5ನಾವು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪಾಪಗಳ ಇಚ್ಛೆಗಳು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದಲೇ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಫಲಫಲಿಸುವ ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
5For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.
6ಈಗಲಾದರೋ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಸತ್ತಕಾರಣ ಅದರಿಂದ ವಿಮುಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ನಾವು ಅಕ್ಷರದ ಹಳೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸದೆ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಹೊಸ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
6But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
7ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾವು ಏನು ಹೇಳೋಣ? ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಪಾಪವೋ? ಹಾಗೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲ; ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಪಾಪವೆಂಬದು ಏನೋ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ನೀನು ಆಶಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಹೇಳ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ದುರಾಶೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಏನೋ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯು ತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
7What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn't have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn't have known coveting, unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."
8ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪವು ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಹೊಂದಿ ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ದುರಾಶೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿತು. ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಇಲ್ಲದಿರು ವಾಗ ಪಾಪವು ಸತ್ತದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
8But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
9ಮೊದಲು ನಾನು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದೆನು. ಆಜ್ಞೆಯು ಬಂದಾಗ ಪಾಪವು ಪುನರ್ಜೀವವಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಸತ್ತೆನು.
9I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10ಜೀವಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿರುವ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯೇ ಮರಣಕ್ಕಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಾನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡೆನು.
10The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death;
11ಹೇಗಂದರೆ ಪಾಪವು ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಹೊಂದಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ವಂಚಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ನನ್ನನು ಕೊಂದಿತು;
11for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
12ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಪರಿ ಶುದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದು. ಆಜ್ಞೆಯು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವೂ ನ್ಯಾಯವೂ ಹಿತವೂ ಆಗಿರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಸರಿ.
12Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
13ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಹಿತವಾದದ್ದು ನನಗೆ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತೋ? ಹಾಗೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪವು ಹಿತವಾದದ್ದರ ಮೂಲಕ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದು ಪಾಪವೇ ಎಂದು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಾಪವು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಪಾಪವಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಬಂತು.
13Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.
14ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಆತ್ಮೀಕವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಶರೀರಾಧೀನನೂ ಪಾಪದ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ ರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
15ಹೇಗಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಒಪ್ಪುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತೇನೋ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ನಾನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
15For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
16ಆದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿ ಕೊಂಡ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು.
16But if what I don't desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
17ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
17So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
18ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೇನೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ; ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೇನೋ ಮನಸ್ಸುಂಟು; ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದು ನನ್ನಿಂದಾಗದು.
18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
19ನಾನು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. 20ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿತು.
19For the good which I desire, I don't do; but the evil which I don't desire, that I practice.
20ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿತು.
20But if what I don't desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
21ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡ ಲಿಚ್ಛಿಸುವ ನನಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಯಮವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
21I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
22ಹೀಗಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಒಳಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗನು ಗುಣವಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದಪಡುವವ ನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
22For I delight in God's law after the inward man,
23ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೊಂದು ನಿಯಮವುಂಟೆಂದು ನಾನು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕಾದಾಡಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆ ಹಿಡಿದು ನನ್ನ ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪಾಪದ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಶಮಾಡುವಂಥದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
23but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
24ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನಾನು ಎಂಥ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು! ಇಂಥ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಈ ದೇಹ ದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವವನು ಯಾರು?ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಶರೀರದಿಂದ ಪಾಪವೆಂಬ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಆಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
24What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
25ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಶರೀರದಿಂದ ಪಾಪವೆಂಬ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ಆಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
25I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God's law, but with the flesh, the sin's law.
