1ಯೋಸೇಫನನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತದವನೂ ಫರೋಹನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಸ್ಥನೂ ಮೈಗಾವಲಿನವನೂ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಆದ ಪೋಟೀಫರನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು.
1Joseph was brought down to Egypt. Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the hand of the Ishmaelites that had brought him down there.
2ಕರ್ತನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತದವನಾದ ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
2Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದೂ ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನೋಡಿದನು.
3His master saw that Yahweh was with him, and that Yahweh made all that he did prosper in his hand.
4ಆದದರಿಂದ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಅವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಪೆಹೊಂದಿ ಅವನ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿದನು. ಪೋಟೀಫರನು ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ತನಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
4Joseph found favor in his sight. He ministered to him, and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
5ಅವನನ್ನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತನಗಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತದವನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ವಾಗಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು. ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೊಲ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ (ಅವನಿಗಿದ್ದ) ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಿತ್ತು.
5It happened from the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that Yahweh blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of Yahweh was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.
6ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ತಾನು ತಿನ್ನುವ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವದರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಚಿಂತಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಸುರೂಪಿಯೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವಂತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
6He left all that he had in Joseph's hand. He didn't concern himself with anything, except for the food which he ate. Joseph was well-built and handsome.
7ಇವುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಹಾಕಿ--ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗು ಅಂದಳು.
7It happened after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes on Joseph; and she said, "Lie with me."
8ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪದೆ ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರು ವದನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತನಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
8But he refused, and said to his master's wife, "Behold, my master doesn't know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.
9ಈ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವ ನಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನೀನು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರುವದ ರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನಲ್ಲದೆ ನನಗೆ ಮತ್ತೇನೂ ಮರೆಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡುವದು ಹೇಗೆ ಅಂದನು.
9He isn't greater in this house than I, neither has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"
10ಅವಳು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವನು ಅವಳ ಕೂಡ ಮಲಗುವದಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಅವಳ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಇರುವದ ಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹೋದನು.
10It happened that as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he didn't listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
11ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮನೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಮನೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
11It happened about this time, that he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside.
12ಆಗ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು--ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗು ಅಂದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅವಳ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು.
12She caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me!" He left his garment in her hand, and ran outside.
13ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರ ವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದದನ್ನೂ ಅವಳು ಕಂಡು
13It happened, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had run outside,
14ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೋಡಿರಿ, ಅವನು (ಗಂಡಸು) ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಬ್ರಿಯನನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ನಾನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿದೆನು.
14that she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, "Behold, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.
15ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಕೂಗಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಕೇಳಿ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು ಅಂದಳು.
15It happened, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and ran outside."
16ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಳು.
16She laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.
17ಅವನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೂ ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಹೇಳುವವ ಳಾಗಿ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಸೇವಕನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು;
17She spoke to him according to these words, saying, "The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,
18ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು ಅಂದಳು.
18and it happened, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and ran outside."
19ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಹೀಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಕೋಪವು ಉರಿಯಿತು.
19It happened, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, "This is what your servant did to me," that his wrath was kindled.
20ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ರಾಜನ ಕೈದಿಗಳು ಬಂಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಆ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
20Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were bound, and he was there in custody.
21ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
21But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22ಆದದರಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕೈದಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕಾದವುಗಳೆನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನೇ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವನಾ ದನು.ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಸೆರೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಯಾವದಕ್ಕೂ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
22The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, he was the doer of it.
23ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಸೆರೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಯಾವದಕ್ಕೂ ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
23The keeper of the prison didn't look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.
