1ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಏಸಾವನು ನಾನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಲೇಯಳಿಗೂ ರಾಹೇಲಳಿಗೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ದಾಸಿಯರಿಗೂ ಅವರವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
1Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. He divided the children between Leah, Rachel, and to the two handmaids.
2ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಮುಂದುಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಲೇಯಳನ್ನೂ ಆಕೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಹೇಲಳನ್ನೂ ಯೋಸೇಫನನ್ನೂ ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
2He put the handmaids and their children in front, Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph at the rear.
3ತಾನೇ ಅವರ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ನೆಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿದನು.
3He himself passed over in front of them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.
4ಆಗ ಏಸಾವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಕೊರಳಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರು ಅತ್ತರು.
4Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, fell on his neck, kissed him, and they wept.
5ಆಗ ಏಸಾವನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ--ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಇವರು ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನಿಗೆ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅಂದನು.
5He lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, "Who are these with you?" He said, "The children whom God has graciously given your servant."
6ಆಗ ದಾಸಿಯರೂ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು.
6Then the handmaids came near with their children, and they bowed themselves.
7ಲೇಯಳು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದಳು. ತರುವಾಯ ಯೋಸೇಫನೂ ರಾಹೇಲಳೂ ಬಂದು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು.
7Leah also and her children came near, and bowed themselves. After them, Joseph came near with Rachel, and they bowed themselves.
8ಆಗ ಏಸಾ ವನು--ನಾನು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮಂದೆ ಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾತಕ್ಕೆ? ಅಂದಾಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು--ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆ ದೊರಕಲಿ ಎಂದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು.
8Esau said, "What do you mean by all this company which I met?" Jacob said, "To find favor in the sight of my lord."
9ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏಸಾವನು--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಇದೆ. ನಿನಗೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ನೀನೇ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ ಅಂದನು.
9Esau said, "I have enough, my brother; let that which you have be yours."
10ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಕೃಪೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇಯಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ
10Jacob said, "Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.
11ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತಂದಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡನು.
11Please take the gift that I brought to you; because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough." He urged him, and he took it.
12ತರುವಾಯ ಏಸಾವನು--ನಾವು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಹೊರಡೋಣ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
12Esau said, "Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before you."
13ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎಳೇ ಪ್ರಾಯದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಳೇ ದನಕುರಿಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವದು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ; ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಂದೆಯು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದಾವು.
13Jacob said to him, "My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.
14ಆದದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮುಂಚೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದು. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ವರೆಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಮಂದೆಗಳ ನಡಿಗೆಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ನಡಿಗೆಗೂ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೆಲ್ಲಗೆ ನಡೆದು ಬರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
14Please let my lord pass over before his servant: and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir."
15ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏಸಾವನು--ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅನ್ನಲು ಯಾಕೋಬನು--ಅದರ ಅಗತ್ಯವೇನು? ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆ ದೊರಕಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
15Esau said, "Let me now leave with you some of the folk who are with me." He said, "Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord."
16ಹೀಗೆ ಏಸಾವನು ಆ ದಿನವೇ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಸೇಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
16So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.
17ಯಾಕೋ ಬನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಸುಕ್ಕೋತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಕ್ಕೋತ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು.
17Jacob traveled to Succoth, built himself a house, and made shelters for his cattle. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
18ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಪದ್ದನ್‌ ಅರಾಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಾಲೆಮ್‌ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದನು.
18Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Paddan Aram; and encamped before the city.
19ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಹಮೋರನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನೂರು ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಂಡನು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏಲೆಲೋಹೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
19He bought the parcel of ground, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for one hundred pieces of money.
20ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏಲೆಲೋಹೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
20He erected an altar there, and called it El Elohe Israel.
