1ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಮಿದ್ಯಾ ನಿನ ವೈದಿಕನೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಇತ್ರೋವನು ಕೇಳಿ
1Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, how that Yahweh had brought Israel out of Egypt.
2ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಚಿಪ್ಪೋರಳನ್ನೂ ಆಕೆಯ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
2Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, received Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her away,
3ಆ ಕುಮಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಗೇರ್ಷೋಮ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿತ್ತು; ಅವನು--ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯನಾಗಿ ದ್ದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
3and her two sons. The name of one son was Gershom, for Moses said, "I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land".
4ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನ ಹೆಸರು ಎಲೀಯೆಜರ್‌ ಎಂದಿತ್ತು; ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಫರೋಹನ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4The name of the other was Eliezer, for he said, "My father's God was my help and delivered me from Pharaoh's sword."
5ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವ ನಾದ ಇತ್ರೋವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಕುಮಾರರೂ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ತಂಗಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳವಾದ ದೇವರ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದರು.
5Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of God.
6ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾವ ನಾದ ಇತ್ರೋವನೆಂಬ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅವಳ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ
6He said to Moses, I, your father-in-law Jethro, have come to you with your wife, and her two sons with her.
7ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
7Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed and kissed him. They asked each other of their welfare, and they came into the tent.
8ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕರ್ತನು ಫರೋಹ ನಿಗೂ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒದಗಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನೂ ಕರ್ತನು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನೆಂಬದನ್ನೂ ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವ ನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
8Moses told his father-in-law all that Yahweh had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how Yahweh delivered them.
9ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಉಪಕಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಇತ್ರೋವನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟನು.
9Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which Yahweh had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.
10ಇತ್ರೋವನು--ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಕೈಗೂ ಫರೋಹನ ಕೈಗೂ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರ ಅಧಿಕಾರದೊಳಗಿಂದಲೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ.
10Jethro said, "Blessed be Yahweh, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh; who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
11ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇವರು ಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಕರ್ತನೇ ದೊಡ್ಡವನೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಗರ್ವಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿದನು ಅಂದನು.
11Now I know that Yahweh is greater than all gods because of the thing in which they dealt arrogantly against them."
12ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವನಾದ ಇತ್ರೋವನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನೂ ಯಜ್ಞ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಆರೋನನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಭೋಜನ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
12Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God. Aaron came with all of the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.
13ಮರುದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಜನರು ಬೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿ ದ್ದರು.
13It happened on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from the morning to the evening.
14ಮೋಶೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವನು ನೋಡಿ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಇದೇನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವದು? ಯಾಕೆ ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಕೂತಿರಲಾಗಿ ಜನರು ಬೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
14When Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, "What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning to evening?"
15ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನಿಗೆ--ದೇವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಜನರು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
15Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God.
16ಅವರಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರಿಗಿರುವ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
16When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws."
17ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ;
17Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you do is not good.
18ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರೂ ಖಂಡಿತ ಬಳಲುವಿರಿ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇದು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಹು ಭಾರ; ನೀನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾರಿ.
18You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you; for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.
19ಆದದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ನಿನಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿ; ನೀನು ಜನರಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆ ತರಬೇಕು.
19Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.
20ನೇಮಕಗಳನ್ನೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರು ಹೋಗ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು.
20You shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.
21ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥರು ಅಂದರೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯ ಪಡುವವರೂ ಸತ್ಯವಂತರೂ ದುರಾಶೆಯನ್ನು ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನೂರು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಐವತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು.
21Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
22ಇವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದು ಸಣ್ಣಸಣ್ಣ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗು ವದು. ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊರುವರು.
22Let them judge the people at all times. It shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.
23ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ನೀನು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತ ನಾಗುವಿ. ಈ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗುವರು ಅಂದನು.
23If you will do this thing, and God commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all of these people also will go to their place in peace."
24ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
24So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said.
25ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮರ್ಥರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನೂರು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಐವತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು.
25Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26ಇವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿ ಕಠಿಣ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ತೀರಿಸಿದರು.ತರುವಾಯ ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲು ಅವನು ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
26They judged the people at all times. They brought the hard causes to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
27ತರುವಾಯ ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲು ಅವನು ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
27Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land.
