1ಹಿರಿಯನಾದ ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಗಾಯನಿಗೆ--
1The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in truth.
2ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅಭಿವೃದಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ನೀನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕ್ಷೇಮಹೊಂದಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
2Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
3ಸಹೋದರರು ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟೆನು.
3For I rejoiced greatly, when brothers came and testified about your truth, even as you walk in truth.
4ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಕೇಳುವ ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಸಂತೋಷವು ನನಗಿಲ್ಲ.
4I have no greater joy than this, to hear about my children walking in truth.
5ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೂ ಪರಿಚಯವಿಲ್ಲದವ ರಿಗೂ ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ.
5Beloved, you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers.
6ಅವರು ಸಭೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ನೀನು ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ.
6They have testified about your love before the assembly. You will do well to send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God,
7ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಆತನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಿಂದ ಏನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಲ್ಲ.
7because for the sake of the Name they went out, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
8ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿಗಳಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅಂಥವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
8We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.
9ಸಭೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೆನು; ಆದರೆ ಸಭೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖನಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ದಿಯೊತ್ರೇಫನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
9I wrote to the assembly, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn't accept what we say.
10ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ಬಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಮಾಡುವ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಹರಟೆ ಕೊಚ್ಚುವವನಾಗಿ ನಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟಕೆಟ್ಟ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇವೂ ಸಾಲದೆ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿ ರುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ತಾನೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳ
10Therefore, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. Not content with this, neither does he himself receive the brothers, and those who would, he forbids and throws out of the assembly.
11ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸದೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸು; ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡವನಲ್ಲ.
11Beloved, don't imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is of God. He who does evil hasn't seen God.
12ದೇಮೇತ್ರಿ ಯನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಂದಲೂ ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೌದು, ನಾವು ಸಹ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುವವ ರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ನೀವು ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
12Demetrius has the testimony of all, and of the truth itself; yes, we also testify, and you know that our testimony is true.
13ನಾನು ಬರೆಯತಕ್ಕ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿದ್ದವು; ಆದರೆ ಮಸಿ ಲೇಖಣಿಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗಿಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲ.ಬೇಗನೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವೆನೆಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆಗ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆವು. ನಿನಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಇರಲಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ನಿನಗೆ ವಂದನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನು ಹೆಸರ್ಹೆಸರಾಗಿ ವಂದಿಸು.
13I had many things to write to you, but I am unwilling to write to you with ink and pen;
14ಬೇಗನೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವೆನೆಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆಗ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆವು. ನಿನಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಇರಲಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ನಿನಗೆ ವಂದನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನು ಹೆಸರ್ಹೆಸರಾಗಿ ವಂದಿಸು.
14but I hope to see you soon, and we will speak face to face. Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
