1ಆಹಾಜನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹಾಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನಲ್ಲ.
1Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he didn't do that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, like David his father;
2ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಬಾಳನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎರಕ ಹೊಯಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.
2but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baals.
3ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಬೆನ್‌ಹಿನ್ನೋಮ ಮಗನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧೂಪವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ ಅನ್ಯರ ಅಸಹ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟನು.
3Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
4ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮೇಡುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಸುರು ಗಿಡಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೂ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಧೂಪವನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
4He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆ ಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
5Therefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they struck him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
6ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ರೆಮಲ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಪೆಕಹನು ಒಂದೇ ದಿವಸದೊಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೂ ದದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷದ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು; ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ ಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
6For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
7ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಫ್ರಯಾಮ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯಾದ ಜಿಕ್ರಿಯು ಅರಸನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯನನ್ನೂ ಅರಮನೆಯ ನಾಯಕನಾದ ಅಜ್ರೀಕಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಎರಡನೆಯವನಾದ ಎಲ್ಕಾನನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
7Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.
8ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆ ಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಹೋದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಬಹು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದರು.
8The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
9ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಇದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಓದೇದನು. ಅವನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಸೈನ್ಯೆಕ್ಕೆದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಗೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿರಲಾಗಿ, ನೀವು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಉಗ್ರದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
9But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the host that came to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.
10ಈಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ದಾಸರೂ ದಾಸಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದದವರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲವೋ?
10Now you purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondservants and bondmaids to you: but aren't there even with you trespasses of your own against Yahweh your God?
11ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರ ರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡ ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವದು ಅಂದನು.
11Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that you have taken captive of your brothers; for the fierce wrath of Yahweh is on you.
12ಆಗ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋಹಾನಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯನೂ ಮೆಷಿ ಲ್ಲೇಮೋತನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆರಕ್ಯನೂ ಶಲ್ಲೂಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕಿಯನೂ ಹದ್ಲೈಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮಾಸನೂ ಯುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು
12Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,
13ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಮಾಡಿ ದ್ದೇವೆ. ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾ ಧವು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿದೆ; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗ್ರ ಕೋಪವು ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು ಅಂದರು.
13and said to them, You shall not bring in the captives here: for you purpose that which will bring on us a trespass against Yahweh, to add to our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
14ಆಗ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ವರು ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕೂಟದ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
14So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the assembly.
15ಆಗ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಆ ಮನು ಷ್ಯರು ಎದ್ದು ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಉಡಿಸಿ ತೊಡಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೆರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಉಣ್ಣುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವರ ತಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಬಲಹೀನರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಯೆರಿಕೋವೆಂಬ ಖರ್ಜೂರದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿದರು.
15The men who have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all who were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers: then they returned to Samaria.
16ಅದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಅಶ್ಶೂ ರಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
16At that time did king Ahaz send to the kings of Assyria to help him.
17ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ಯೆಹೂದದವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
17For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.
18ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಫಿಲಿ ಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತಗ್ಗಿನ ದೇಶದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೂ ದದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆ ಷನ್ನೂ ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋನನ್ನೂ ಗೆದೇರೋತನ್ನೂ ಸೋಕೋವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಿಮ್ನಾ ವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗಿಮ್ಜೋವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
18The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with the towns of it, and Timnah with the towns of it, Gimzo also and the towns of it: and they lived there.
19ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾ ಜನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕರ್ತನು ಯೆಹೂದವನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದವನ್ನು ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಹಳ ಅಪರಾಧ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
19For Yahweh brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had dealt wantonly in Judah, and trespassed severely against Yahweh.
20ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿಗ್ಲತ್ಪಿಲೆಸರನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸದೆ ಬಾಧೆಪಡಿಸಿ ದನು.
20Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria came to him, and distressed him, but didn't strengthen him.
21ಆಹಾಜನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅರಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಿಂದಲೂ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದನು.
21For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of Yahweh, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria: but it didn't help him.
22ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
22In the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against Yahweh, this same king Ahaz.
23ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ--ಅವು ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದ ದಮಸ್ಕ ದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದವು.
23For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, which struck him; and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
24ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಹಾಜನು ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಡುಗಳಾಗಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಯೆರೂ ಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮೂಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.
24Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of Yahweh; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
25ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪಸುಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತರ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದನು.
25In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger Yahweh, the God of his fathers.
26ಅವನ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ ಅವನ ಸಕಲ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳೂ--ಮೊದಲನೆಯವುಗಳೂ ಕಡೆಯವು ಗಳೂ ಇಗೋ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅರಸು ಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವೆ.ಆಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು; ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್‌ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು; ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿದನು.
26Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
27ಆಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು; ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್‌ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು; ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿದನು.
27Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they didn't bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
