1ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುವವು ಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿದೆಯೆಂದು ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು; ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಿತಿಯು ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡು ತ್ತದೆ.
1Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
2ಒಬ್ಬನು ತಾನು ಏನಾದರೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ನೆನಸುವದಾದರೆ ಅವನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
2But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn't yet know as he ought to know.
3ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನನ್ನೇ ದೇವರು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
3But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.
4ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದರ ವಿಷ ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಏನೂ ಅಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು.
4Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
5ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲೀ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಾಗಲೀ ದೇವರು ಗಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ (ಅನೇಕ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳು ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ.)
5For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
6ನಮಗಾದರೋ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನು ತಂದೆಯೆಂಬಾತನೇ; ಆತನು ಸಮಸ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಮೂಲ ಕಾರಣನು; ನಾವು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ. ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಒಬ್ಬನೇ; ಆತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸಮಸ್ತವೂ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು; ನಾವು ಆತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಉಂಟಾದೆವು.
6yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
7ಆದರೆ ಆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವರು ಈವರೆಗೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಂದು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.
7However, that knowledge isn't in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
8ಆದರೆ ಆಹಾರವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾದವರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಾರದು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ತಿಂದರೆ ನಮ ಗೇನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾವು ತಿನ್ನದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಮಗೇನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.
8But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don't eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
9ಆದರೂ ಈ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವು ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರ ವಾದೀತು, ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
9But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
10ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ನೀನು ವಿಗ್ರಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂತಿರುವಾಗ ನಿರ್ಬಲ ವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಕಂಡರೆ ಅವನೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪದಾರ್ಥ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡಾನಲ್ಲವೇ?
10For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
11ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಬಲಹೀನನಾದ ಸಹೋದರನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕೊಟ್ಟನಲ್ಲವೇ?
11And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.
12ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ನಿರ್ಬಲವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನೋಯಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗುತ್ತೀರಿ.ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆಹಾರವು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರವಾದರೆ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರಪಡಿಸದಂತೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಮಾಂಸ ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
12Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.
13ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆಹಾರವು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರವಾದರೆ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರಪಡಿಸದಂತೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಮಾಂಸ ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
13Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I don't cause my brother to stumble.
