1बाबुल की नहरों के किनारे हम लोग बैठ गए, और सिरयोन को स्मरण करके रो पड़े!
1By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
2उसके बीच के मजनू वर्क्षों पर हम ने अपनी वीणाओं को टांग दिया;
2On the willows in the midst of it, We hung up our harps.
3क्योंकि जो हम को बन्धुए करके ले गए थे, उन्हों ने वहां हम से गीत गवाना चाहा, और हमारे रूलानेवलों ने हम से आनन्द चाहकर कहा, सिरयोन के गीतों में से हमारे लिये कोई गीत गाओ!
3For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: "Sing us one of the songs of Zion!"
4हम यहोवा के गीत को, पराए देश में क्योंकर गाएं?
4How can we sing Yahweh's song in a foreign land?
5हे यरूशलेम, यदि मैं तुझे भूल जाऊं, तो मेरा दहिना हाथ झूठा हो जाए!
5If I forget you, Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill.
6यदि मैं तुझे स्मरण न रखूं, यदि मैं यरूशलेम को अपने सब आनन्द से श्रेष्ठ न जानूं, तो मेरी जीभ तालू से चिपट जाए!
6Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don't remember you; If I don't prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.
7हे यहोवा, यरूशलेम के दिन को एदोमियों के विरूद्ध स्मरण कर, कि वे क्योंकर कहते थे, ढाओ! उसको नेव से ढा दो।
7Remember, Yahweh, against the children of Edom, The day of Jerusalem; Who said, "Raze it! Raze it even to its foundation!"
8हे बाबुल तू जो उजड़नेवाली है, क्या ही धन्य वह होगा, जो तुझ से ऐसा बर्ताव करेगा जैसा तू ने हम से किया है!
8Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, He will be happy who rewards you, As you have served us.
9क्या ही धन्य वह होगा, जो तेरे बच्चों को पकड़कर, चट्टान पर पटक देगा!
9Happy shall he be, Who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.
