1इस्राएल अब यह कहे, कि मेरे बचपन से लोग मुझे बार बार क्लेश देते आए हैं,
1A Song of Ascents. Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,
2मेरे बचपन से वे मुझ को बार बार क्लेश देते तो आए हैं, परन्तु मुझ पर प्रबल नहीं हुए।
2Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, Yet they have not prevailed against me.
3हलवाहों ने मेरी पीठ के ऊपर हल चलाया, और लम्बी लम्बी रेखाएं कीं।
3The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.
4यहोवा धर्मी है; उस ने दुष्टों के फन्दों को काट डाला है।
4Yahweh is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
5जितने सिरयोन से बैर रखते हैं, उन सभों की आशा टूटे, ओर उनको पीछे हटना पड़े!
5Let them be disappointed and turned backward, All those who hate Zion.
6वे छत पर की घास के समान हों, जो बढ़ने से पहिले सूख जाती है;
6Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;
7जिस से कोई लवैया अपनी मुट्ठी नहीं भरता, न पूलियों का कोई बान्धनेवाला अपनी अंकवार भर पाता है,
7With which the reaper doesn't fill his hand, Nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
8और न आने जानेवाले यह कहते हैं, कि यहोवा की आशीष तुम पर होवे! हम तुम को यहोवा के नाम से आशीर्वाद देते हैं!
8Neither do those who go by say, "The blessing of Yahweh be on you. We bless you in the name of Yahweh."
