1જો તું મારી માએ ધવડાવેલો મારો સગો ભાઇ હોત તો કેવું સારું થાત! હું તો કોઇની ચિંતા કર્યા વિના જાહેરમાં તને ચુંબન કરું, અને છતાં આના માટે મને કોઇએ ધિક્કારી ન હોત.
1Oh that you were like my brother, Who sucked the breasts of my mother! If I found you outside, I would kiss you; Yes, and no one would despise me.
2હું તને મારી માતાના ઘરમાં લઇ આવત મેં તને મારા દાડમમાંથી નીચોવેલો મસાલેદાર દ્રાક્ષાસવ આપ્યો હોત.
2I would lead you, bringing you into my mother's house, Who would instruct me. I would have you drink spiced wine, Of the juice of my pomegranate.
3તેનો ડાબો હાથ મારા મસ્તક નીચે હોત, અને જમણા હાથથી મને આલિંગન કર્યું હોત.
3His left hand would be under my head. His right hand would embrace me.
4ઓ યરૂશાલેમની યુવતીઓ, મને વચન આપો કે જ્યાં સુધી યોગ્ય સમય ન આવે ત્યાં સુધી તમે મારા પ્રીતમને જગાડશો નહીં.”
4I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, That you not stir up, nor awaken love, Until it so desires. Friends
5પોતાના પ્રીતમ સાથે રણમાંથી આ સ્ત્રી કોણ આવે છે?સફરજનના વૃક્ષ નીચે તારી માતા પ્રસુતિપીડા અનુભવતી હતી અને તેણે ત્યાં જન્મ આપ્યો’ હતો એ વૃક્ષ નીચે જ મેં તારા પ્રેમને જાગૃત કર્યો છે.”
5Who is this who comes up from the wilderness, Leaning on her beloved? Under the apple tree I aroused you. There your mother conceived you. There she was in labor and bore you.
6મને તારા હૃદયની મુદ્રા તરીકે અથવા તારા હાથ પરની વીંટી તરીકે મને સ્થાપન કર. કારણકે પ્રેમ મૃત્યુ સમાન બળવાન છે અને ઇર્ષા કબર જેવી ક્રૂર છે, અતિ પ્રજવલિત આગની જેમ તે ભડકે બળે છે અને તેની જવાળા ઘણી પ્રબળ છે.
6Set me as a seal on your heart, As a seal on your arm; For love is strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol; Its flashes are flashes of fire, A very flame of Yahweh.
7ધસમસતાં પાણીનો પ્રવાહ પ્રેમજવાલાને હોલવી શકે નહિ, જળપ્રલયના પાણી એને ખેંચી જતાં નથી! જે વ્યકિત પ્રેમને ખરીદવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરે છે તેને લોકો ધિક્કારે છે. પછી ભલેને તેણે પોતાની સઘળી સંપતિ આપી દીધી હોય તો પણ.
7Many waters can't quench love, Neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, He would be utterly scorned. Friends
8અમારે એક નાની બહેન છે, હજી તો એનાં થાન પણ ઉપસ્યાં નથી, હવે એની સગાઇની વાત લઇને કોઇ આવે તો અમારી બહેન માટે અમે શું કરીએ?”
8We have a little sister. She has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister In the day when she is to be spoken for?
9જો તે દીવાલ હોય તો, અમે તેને ચાંદીથી શણગારશું અને જો તે પ્રવેશદ્વાર હોય તો અમે તેને પાટીયા વડે ઢાંકીને મઢી દઇએ.”
9If she is a wall, We will build on her a turret of silver. If she is a door, We will enclose her with boards of cedar. Beloved
10હું દીવાલ છું અને મારા થાન બુરજો જેવાઁ છે, તેની દ્રષ્ટિમાં હું તેને સંતોષ શાંતિ લાવી શકું તેવી છું.
10I am a wall, and my breasts like towers, Then I was in his eyes like one who found peace.
11સુલેમાનની બઆલ હામોનમાં એક દ્રાક્ષાવાડી હતી જે તેણે ખેડૂતોને ભાડે આપી દરેક ખેડૂતને તે પેટે ચાંદીના એક હજાર સિક્કા લાવીને આપવાના હતા.
11Solomon had a vineyard at Baal Hamon. He leased out the vineyard to keepers. Each was to bring a thousand shekels of silver for its fruit.
12મારી દ્રાક્ષાવાડી મારી પોતાની છે. હે સુલેમાન, તું તારા હજાર શેકેલ રાખી લે અને ભલે દરેક ખેડૂત પાસે બસ્સો શેકેલ રહે.”
12My own vineyard is before me. The thousand are for you, Solomon; Two hundred for those who tend its fruit. Lover
13હે બગીચાઓમાં વસનારી, મારા મિત્રો તારો અવાજ સાંભળી રહ્યાં છે, મને પણ સાંભળવા દે.
13You who dwell in the gardens, with friends in attendance, Let me hear your voice! Beloved
14હે મારા પ્રીતમ, તું વહેલો આવ. સુગંધી દ્રવ્યોના પર્વત પર તું હવે સાબરી જેવો બન અથવા યુવાન હરણ જેવો બન. 
14Come away, my beloved! Be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices!
