1મેં રાત્રે મારા પ્રાણપ્રિયને મારા પલંગમાં શોધ્યો, પણ તે મને મળ્યો નહિ.
1By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn't find him.
2હું શહેરની ગલી ગલી અને રસ્તા ફરી વળી; છતાંય મારી સઘળી શોધખોળ નિષ્ફળ નીવડી.
2I will get up now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn't find him.
3નગરમાં રોન ફરતાં ચોકીદારોનો મને ભેટો થયો; મેં તેઓને પૂછયું, “મારા પ્રાણપ્રિયને તમે જોયો?”
3The watchmen who go about the city found me; "Have you seen him whom my soul loves?"
4થોડા સમય પછી મને મળ્યો મારો પ્રાણપ્રિય, પકડી લીધો મેં તેને, તે લાવી નિવાસસ્થાને; ને ખેંચી ગઇ મુજ જનેતાના ઘરમાં; ત્યાં સુધી નહિ છોડ્યાં મેં મારા પ્રીતમને.
4I had scarcely passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, Into the chamber of her who conceived me.
5હે યરૂશાલેમની યુવતીઓ, હું તમને હરણીઓના તથા મૃગલીઓના સમ દઇને વીનવું છું કે યર્થાથ સમય આવ્યા પહેલાં મારા પ્રીતમને જગાડશો નહિ.
5I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes, or by the hinds of the field, That you not stir up, nor awaken love, Until it so desires.
6રણ તરફથી આવતો, આ જે મધુર સુગંધી ધૂપ બાળીને બનાવેલાં ધુમાડાંના સ્તંભ જેવો લાગે છે તે કોણ છે?
6Who is this who comes up from the wilderness like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all spices of the merchant?
7જુઓ, આ તો સુલેમાનની પાલખી છે; તેની સાથે છે ઇસ્રાએલી સૈન્યના સાઠ યોદ્ધાઓ
7Behold, it is Solomon's carriage! Sixty mighty men are around it, Of the mighty men of Israel.
8તેઓ કુશળ તરવારબાજ અને અનુભવી અંગરક્ષકો છે, રાત્રીના ભયને કારણે દરેકની કમરે તરવાર લટકે છે.
8They all handle the sword, and are expert in war. Every man has his sword on his thigh, Because of fear in the night.
9લબાનોનના કાષ્ટમાંથી બનાવ્યો છે રથ, સુલેમાન રાજાએ પોતાના ઉપયોગાર્થે.
9King Solomon made himself a carriage Of the wood of Lebanon.
10તેણે તેના સ્તંભ ચાંદીના અને છત સોનાની, અને તેનું આસન બનાવ્યું જાંબુડા રંગનું; યરૂશાલેમની દીકરીઓ દ્વારા અંદરથી તે પ્રેમપૂર્વક શણગારાયેલી હતી.
10He made its pillars of silver, Its bottom of gold, its seat of purple, Its midst being paved with love, From the daughters of Jerusalem.
11“ઓ સિયોનની યુવતીઓ, જાઓ અને જુઓ સુલેમાન રાજાને, એના આનંદના દિવસે એટલે તેના લગ્નના દિવસે તેની માતાએ તેને પહેરાવ્યો છે, તે મુગટસહિત નિહાળો તેને.”
11Go forth, you daughters of Zion, and see king Solomon, With the crown with which his mother has crowned him, In the day of his weddings, In the day of the gladness of his heart. Lover
