1હે યહોવા, અમારા દેવ, સમગ્ર પૃથ્વી પર તમારું નામ ઉત્તમ છે. અને તમારો મહિમા આકાશમાં ભરપૂર છે.
1For the Chief Musician; on an instrument of Gath. A Psalm by David. Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, Who has set your glory above the heavens!
2નવજાતો અને બાળકોના મુખમાંથી તમારી સ્તુતિની ગાથાઓ પ્રગટી છે. તમારા શત્રુઓને ચૂપ કરી દેવા માટે તમે તેમને આ શકિતશાળી ગીતો આપ્યા છે.
2From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, Because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
3હે યહોવા, જ્યારે રાત્રે હું આકાશદર્શન કરું છું. અને ચંદ્ર તથા તારાઓથી ભર્યું નભ નિહાળું છું, ત્યારે તમારા હાથનાં અદ્ભૂત કૃત્યો વિષે હું વિચારું છું.
3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, The moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
4પછી મને આશ્ચર્ય થાય છે, કે માનવજાત શું છે, જેનું તમે સ્મરણ કરો છો? માણસો તે કોણ છે કે તેઓની તમે મુલાકાત લો છો?
4What is man, that you think of him? The son of man, that you care for him?
5કારણ, તમે એને દેવ કરતાં થોડોજ ઊતરતો સૃજ્યો છે, અને તેના માથા પર મહિમા ને માનનો મુગટ મૂકયો છે.
5For you have made him a little lower than God, And crowned him with glory and honor.
6તમે જ તેને, તમે ઉત્પન્ન કરેલી સૃષ્ટિનો અધિકાર આપ્યો છે અને તે સઘળી સૃષ્ટિનો તમે તેને કારભારી બનાવ્યો છે.
6You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:
7એટલે સર્વ ઘેટાં તથા બળદો, અને જંગલી પ્રાણીઓનો પણ.
7All sheep and oxen, Yes, and the animals of the field,
8વળી આકાશનાં પક્ષીઓ, સમુદ્રમાં રહેતા માછલાં તથા જીવોનો પણ.
8The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, And whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9હે યહોવા, અમારા પ્રભુ, સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં તમારું નામ સૌથી મહાન છે.
9Yahweh, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth!
