1હે દેવ, મારી પ્રાર્થનાને સાંભળો; મારી દયા માટેની પ્રાર્થનાની અવગણના કરશો નહિ.
1For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A contemplation by David. Listen to my prayer, God. Don't hide yourself from my supplication.
2હે યહોવા, મને ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો; ને મને ઉત્તર આપો; હું શોકને કારણે અશાંત છું; અને વિલાપ કરું છું.
2Attend to me, and answer me. I am restless in my complaint, and moan,
3દુશ્મનો મારી સામે બૂમો પાડી રહ્યાં છે. તેઓએ મને ધમકી આપી ગુસ્સામાં અને ધિક્કારથી મારા પર હુમલો કર્યો. તેઓ મારા ઉપર તકલીફો લાવ્યા.
3Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked. For they bring suffering on me. In anger they hold a grudge against me.
4મારા હૃદયમાં ઘણી વેદના થાય છે, અને મૃત્યુની ધાકે મારા પર કબજો જમાવ્યો છે.
4My heart is severely pained within me. The terrors of death have fallen on me.
5મારું શરીર ભયથી ધ્રુજે છે, હું ભયથી ઘેરાઇ ગયો છું.
5Fearfulness and trembling have come on me. Horror has overwhelmed me.
6મને કબૂતરની જેમ પાંખ હોત, તો કેવું સારું! કે હું દૂર ઊડી શકત અને વિશ્રામ કરત.
6I said, "Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then I would fly away, and be at rest.
7હું રણમાં દૂર સુધી ઊડી જાત અને ત્યાં મુકામ કરત.
7Behold, then I would wander far off. I would lodge in the wilderness." Selah.
8વિનાશકારી પવનનાં તોફાનથી હું ઉતાવળે નાસીને આશ્રયસ્થાને પહોંચત.
8"I would hurry to a shelter from the stormy wind and tempest."
9હે યહોવા, આ દુષ્ટજનોમાં અંદરો અંદર ગેરસમજ ઊભી કરો, મેં એકબીજાની વિરુદ્ધ નગરમાં હિંસક ઝગડા જોયાં છે.
9Confuse them, Lord, and confound their language, For I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10આખા શહેરમાં રાત-દિવસ હિંસા અને ઉપાધિ છે, શહેરમાં ક્રૂરતા અને દુષ્ટતા પ્રવતીર્ રહી છે.
10Day and night they prowl around on its walls. Malice and abuse are also within her.
11નગરમાં કેવાં વિનાશકારી પરિબળો સક્રિય છે! જ્યાં જુઓ ત્યાં રસ્તામાં છેતરપિંડી તથા જુલમ છે.
11Destructive forces are within her. Threats and lies don't depart from her streets.
12મને મહેણાં મારનાર કે નિંદા કરનાર, મારા શત્રુ ન હતા; એ તો મારાથી સહન કરી શકાત; મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠનાર મારો વેરી ન હતો, નહિ તો હું સંતાઇને નાસી છૂટયો હોત.
12For it was not an enemy who insulted me, Then I could have endured it. Neither was it he who hated me who raised himself up against me, Then I would have hid myself from him.
13પણ તે તો તમો છે મારા જેવા માણસ, મારા મિત્ર ને મારા સાથીદાર છો.
13But it was you, a man like me, My companion, and my familiar friend.
14આપણે એકબીજાની સાથે સુખે વાતો કરતાં હતાં. અને જનસમુદાય સાથે દેવના મંદિરમાં જતા હતા.
14We took sweet fellowship together. We walked in God's house with company.
15એકાએક તેમના પર મોત આવો, તેઓ જીવતા જ શેઓલમાં ઉતરી પડો, કારણ, તેઓનાં ઘરોમાં પાપ થાય છે, તેઓનાં અંતરનાં ઊંડાણોમાં દુષ્ટતા છે.
15Let death come suddenly on them. Let them go down alive into Sheol. For wickedness is in their dwelling, in the midst of them.
16હું તો દેવને પોકાર કરીશ, તેથી યહોવા મારું તારણ કરશે.
16As for me, I will call on God. Yahweh will save me.
17પણ હું, મારા દુ:ખમાં; સવારે બપોરે ને રાત્રે દેવને સાદ કરીશ; અને તે મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળશે.
17Evening, morning, and at noon, I will cry out in distress. He will hear my voice.
18હું ઘણા યુદ્ધોમાં લડ્યોં છું; પરંતુ દેવે હંમેશા મને બચાવ્યો છે અને મને સુરક્ષિત રીતે પાછો લાવ્યો છે.
18He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, Although there are many who oppose me.
19દેવ અનાદિકાળથી ન્યાયાસન પર બિરાજમાન છે, તે તેઓને તેઓના શબ્દો સાંભળીને નમાવશે, તેઓ યહોવાનો ભય રાખતાં નથી ને પોતાના માર્ગ પણ બદલતાં નથી.
19God, who is enthroned forever, Will hear, and answer them. Selah. They never change, Who don't fear God.
20તેઓએ તેમનાં મિત્રો પર હુમલો કર્યો છે, તેઓએ તેમની સાથે કરેલા કરારનો ભંગ કર્યો છે.
20He raises his hands against his friends. He has violated his covenant.
21તેના શબ્દો છે માખણ જેવાં સુંવાળા,પણ તેનું હૃદય યુદ્ધનાં વિચારોથી ભરેલુ છે. શબ્દો તેલ કરતાય વધુ નરમ છે, પણ તે શબ્દો છરીની જેમ કાપે છે.
21His mouth was smooth as butter, But his heart was war. His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.
22તમારી ચિંતાઓ યહોવાને સોંપી દો, અને તે તમને નિભાવી રાખશે, તેઓ ક્યારેય સદાચારી લોકોને પરાજીત થવા દેતા નથી.
22Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
23હે દેવ, તમે મારા શત્રુઓને વિનાશની ખાઇમાં ધકેલી દો છો. ખૂની-કપટી પોતાનું અડધું આયુષ્ય પણ નથી ભોગવી શકતાં. પરંતુ મારા રક્ષણ માટે તો હું તમારા પર ભરોસો રાખીશ.
23But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, But I will trust in you.
