બલામને ખબર પડી કે યહોવા ઇસ્રાએલને આશીર્વાદ આપવા ઈચ્છે છે, તેથી તેણે જાદૂઈ ખેલો કરીને તેને બદલવા પ્રયત્ન કર્યો નહિ. તેને બદલે તે રણ તરફ ઇસ્રાએલી છાવણી તરફ ફરીને ઊભો રહ્યો.

When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn't go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
