યહૂદાના કુટુંબને ટોળીઓ પ્રમાંણે ચિઠ્ઠી નાંખી ભૂમિ વહેંચવામાં આવી હતી. એ દક્ષિણ તરફ અદોમની સરહદ, તેમાંનની ધારે આવેલા સીનના રણ સુધી ફેલાયલી છે.

The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

તેમની દક્ષિણી સરહદ મૃતસમુદ્રના દક્ષિણ છેડાથી, આરંભ થતી હતી.

Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward;

ત્યાંથી સરહદ સ્કોર્પિયન ઘાટની દક્ષિણ સુધી જાય છે, સીનની પાસે થઈને કાદેશ-બાર્નેઆની દક્ષિણે થઈને અને પછી હેસ્રોન પચાસ થઈને આદાર સુધી અને ત્યાંથી તે કાર્કા તરફ વળી જાય છે.

and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka;

પછી સરહદ આસ્મોન સુધી ચાલુ રહે છે, ઈજીપ્તના ઝરણાં અને પછી ભુમધ્ય સમુદ્ર સુધી.

and it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea: this shall be your south border.

તેની પૂર્વની સરહદ મૃત સરોવર સુધી આવેલ યર્દન નદીના મુખ તથા ઉત્તરની સરહદ યર્દન નદીના મુખ પાસે આવેલ બેથ-હોગ્લાહ સુધી ઉપર જતી હતી.

The east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan;

પછી તે બેથ-હોગ્લાથી ઉપર જઈ અને બેથ-અરાબાહની ઉત્તરે ચાલુ રહીને બોહાન જે રૂબેનનો પુત્ર હતો તેની શિલા સુધી તે જાય છે.

and the border went up to Beth Hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben;

પછી સરહદ આખોરની ખીણ આગળ થઈને દબીર સુધી જાય છે, પછી ઉત્તર તરફ વળીને ગિલ્ગાલ તરફ વળે છે. ગિલ્ગાલ કોતરની દક્ષિણ બાજુએ અદુમ્મીમના ઘાટની સામે આવેલું છે. અદુમ્મીમ ઘાટની વચ્ચેથી કોતરની દક્ષિણે જઈને પછી એનશેમેશ જળ સ્રોત સુધી ચાલુ રહીને એનરોગેલ આગળ અટકતી હતી.

and the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river; and the border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and the goings out of it were at En Rogel;

પછી સરહદ યબૂસીઓ એટલે કે યરૂશાલેમના ઢાળની દક્ષિણથી બેન હિન્નોમની ખીણ સુધી જાય છે, પછી એ પર્વતના શિખર તરફ વળે છે, જે રફાઈમની ખીણના ઉત્તર છેડા પર, હિન્નોમ ખીણની પશ્ચિમે આવેલો છે.

and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the valley of Rephaim northward;

પછી સરહદ પર્વતના શિખર પરથી “નેફતોઆહનો જળસમૂહ” ઝરણા તરફ વળીને ત્યાંથી એક્રોન પર્વત પરના નગરોમાં જાય છે. તે જગ્યાએથી સરહદ બાઅલાહ જે “કિયાર્થ-યઆરીમ” તરીકે ઓળખાય છે તેના તરફ વળી જાય છે.

and the border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath Jearim);

પછી સરહદબાઅલાહની પશ્ચિમે સેઈર ના પર્વતીય દેશ તરફ વળતી હતી; અને યઆરીમ પર્વતની ઉત્તર બાજુએ ઢાળ સુધી જઈને, નીચે ઊતરી બેથ-શેમેશ તરફ વળીને તિમ્નાહ તરફ જાય છે.

and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;

પછી સરહદ એક્રોની ઉત્તરની ટેકરી સુધી જાય છે. ત્યાંથી શિક્કરોન તરફ વળીને પછી બાઅલાહ પર્વત સુધી અને પછી યાબ્નએલ સુધી ચાલુ રહીને ભૂમધ્ય સમુદ્રમાં પૂરી થાય છે.

and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

પશ્ચિમી સરહદ ભૂમધ્ય સમુદ્ર સુધી હતી. આ યહૂદાના કુળસમૂહની સરહદ છે.

The west border was to the great sea, and the border of it. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

જેમ યહોવાએ યહોશુઆને આજ્ઞા કરી હતી તેમ, તેણે યફૂન્નેહના દીકરા કાલેબને યહૂદાના લોકોની ભૂમિમાંથી ભાગ આપ્યો. તેણે તેને કિર્યાથ-આર્બા આપ્યું હતું. આર્બા અનાકનો પિતા હતો.

To Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, which Arba was the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).

કાલેબે ત્યાંથી અનાકના ત્રણ દીકરા-શેશાય, અહીમાંન અને તાલ્માંયને હાંકી કાઢયા.

Caleb drove out there the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

કાલેબે ત્યાંથી જઈને દબીરના લોકો ઉપર ચઢાઈ કરી. પહેલાં દબીર કિર્યાથ-સેફેર તરીકે જાણીતું હતું.

He went up there against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher.

કાલેબે કહ્યું, “જે કોઈ કિર્યાથ-સેફેર ઉપર હુમલો કરી તેને કબજે કરશે તેને હું માંરી દીકરી આખ્સાહ પરણાવીશ.”

Caleb said, He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.
17
કાલેબના ભાઈ કનાઝના પુત્ર ઓથ્નીએલે એ શહેર કબજે કર્યું. તેથી કાલેબે તેને પોતાની દીકરી આખ્સાહ પરણાવી.

Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18
જ્યારે તે પરણીને આવી ત્યારે ઓથ્નીએલે તેને તેના બાપ પાસે એક ખેતરની માંગણી કરવા ચડાવી. તે કાલેબ પાસે ગઈ અને ગધેડા ઉપરથી ઊતરી એટલે કાલેબે તેને પૂછયું, “તારે શું જોઈએ છે?”

It happened, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from off her donkey; and Caleb said, What would you?
19
તેણીએ કહ્યું, “મને આશીર્વાદ આપો! તમે મને નેગેબનો સૂકો પ્રદેશ આપ્યો હતો. તેથી મને થોડી ભૂમિ આપો જેમાં પાણી હોય” આથી કાલેબે તેણીને ઉપરનાં અને નીચેનાં ઝરણાંઓ આપ્યાં.

She said, Give me a blessing; for that you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. He gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
20
યહૂદાના કુળસમૂહને મળેલ ભૂમિ આ છે. દરેક કુટુંબને જમીનનો ભાગ મળ્યો હતો:

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

આ શહેરો યહૂદાના કુળસમૂહને મળેલા છે: નેગેબમાં અદોમની સરહદે આવેલાં શહેરો: કાબ્સએલ, એદેર, યાગૂર,

The uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

કીનાહ, દીમોનાહ, આદઆદાહ,
22
and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
23
કેદેશ, હાસોર, પિથ્નાન,
23
and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
24
ઝીફ, ટેલેમ, બેઆલોથ,
24
Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
25
હાસોર હદાત્તાહ, ફરીયોથ-હેસ્રોન એટલે કે હાસોર.

Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth, Hezron (the same is Hazor),

અમાંમ, શમાં, મોલાદાહ,
26
Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
27
હસાર-ગાદાહ તથા શ્હેમોન, બેથ-પેલેટ,

and Hazar Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth Pelet,
28
હસાર-શૂઆલ, બેર-શેબા, બિઝયોથ્યાહ.

and Hazar Shual, and Beersheba, and Biziothiah,

બાઅલાહ, ઈયીમ, એસેમ,
29
Baalah, and Iim, and Ezem,
30
એસ્તોલાદ, કસીલ, હોર્માંહ,

and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

સિકલાગ, માંદમાંન્નાહ, સાન્સાન્નાહ,

and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

લબાઓથ, શિલ્હીમ, આયિન અને રિમ્મોન અને આસપાસના ગામડાઓ સહિત કુલ 29શહેરો હતા,

and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.

પશ્ચિમ ટેકરીના ઢોળાવમાં શહેરો: એશ્તાઓલ, સોરાહ, આશ્નાહ હતાં.

In the lowland, Eshtaol, and Zorah, and Ashnah,

જાનોઆહ, એનગાન્નીમ, તાપ્પૂઆહ, એનામ.

and Zanoah, and En Gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

યાર્મૂથ, અદુલ્લામ, સોખોહ, અઝેકાહ,

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

શાઅરાઈમ, અદીથાઈમ, ગદેરાહ, અને ગદરોથાઈમ અને તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 14નગરો હતા.

and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.

એ ઉપરાંત, સનાન, હદાશાહ, મિગ્દાલ-ગાદ,

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,

દિલઆન-મિસ્પાહ, યોક્તએલ,

and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
39
લાખીશ, બોસ્કાથ, એગ્લોન,

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
40
કાબ્બોન, લાહમાંમ, કિથ્લીશ,
40
and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Chitlish,

ગદેરોથ, બેથ-દાગોન, નાઅમાંહ અને માંક્કેદાહ: આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 16નગર,

and Gederoth, Beth Dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

તદુપરાંત લિબ્નાહ, એથેર આશાન,

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
43
યફતા, આશ્નાહ, નસીબ,
43
and Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44
કઈલાહ, આખ્ઝીબ અને માંરેશાહ તથા તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 9નગરો હતા.
44
and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.
45
યહુદાના લોકોને એકોનનું નગર પણ મળ્યું અને બધાં શહેરો અને નજીકમાંના ગામો પણ મળ્યાં.

Ekron, with its towns and its villages;
46
તેઓને એક્રોનની પશ્ચિમનો પ્રદેશ પણ મળ્યો હતો,તેની સરહદ એકોનથી ભૂમધ્ય સમુદ્ર સુધી અને આશ્દોદની પાસે આવેલાં નગરો તથા તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સુધી હતી.

from Ekron even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

પછી આશ્દોદ અને તેની નજીકના શહેરો અને ગામો, ગાજાના અને તેની નજીકનાં શહેરો અને ગામોથી મિસરની નદી સુધી અને ભૂમધ્ય સમુદ્રના કિનારા સુધી હતી.

Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border of it.

પર્વતીય પ્રદેશના 44નગરો તથા તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો પણ વતન તરીકે મળ્યા હતાં. શામીર, યાત્તીર, સોખોહ,

In the hill-country, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

દાન્નાહ, કિર્યાથ-સાન્નાહ (એટલે કે દબીર);

and Dannah, and Kiriath Sannah (the same is Debir),

અનાબ, એશ્તમોહ, આનીમ,

and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

ગોશોન, હોલોન, ગીલોહ અને તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ અગિયાર નગરો હતો.

and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.

અરાબ, દુમાંહ, એશઆન,

Arab, and Dumah, and Eshan,

યાનીમ, બેથ-તાપ્પૂઆહ, અફેકાહ,

and Janim, and Beth Tappuah, and Aphekah,

હુમ્ટાહ, કિર્યાથ-આર્બા એટલે કે હેબ્રોન અને સીઓર અને તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 9શહેરો હતાં.

and Humtah, and Kiriath Arba (the same is Hebron), and Zior; nine cities with their villages.

માંઓન, કાર્મેલ, ઝીફ, યૂટાહ,

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jutah,

યોકદઆમ, જાનોઆહ, યિજાએલ,

and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

કાઈન, ગિબયાહ અને તિમ્નાહ અને તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 10 શહેરો હતા.

Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.

હાલ્હૂલ, બેથ-સૂર, ગદોર,

Halhul, Beth Zur, and Gedor,

માંઅરાથ, બેથ-અનોથ અને એલ્તકોન, આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ ત્યાં 6શહેરો હતા.

and Maarath, and Beth Anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.

કિર્યાથ-બઆલ, (કિર્યાથ-યઆરીમ) રાબ્બાહ અને તેની નજીકનાં ગામો. સાથે ત્યાં બે શહેરો હતાં.

Kiriath Baal (the same is Kiriath Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

રણમાં: બેથ-અરાબાહ, મિદીન તથા સખાખાહ;

In the wilderness, Beth Arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

નિબ્શાન, મીઠાનુંનગર અને અને ગેદી અને તેની આજુબાજુના ગામો સહિત કુલ 6શહેરો હતા.

and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En Gedi; six cities with their villages.

પણ યહૂદાના લોકો યરૂશાલેમમાંથી યબૂસીઓને હાંકી કાઢી શક્યા નહી, તેથી યબૂસીઓ યહૂદાના લોકોની સાથે આજ સુધી યરૂશાલેમમાં રહે છે.

As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn't drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
