આ સર્વ રાજાઓ ઇસ્રાએલને કચડી નાખવાના હેતુ સાથે પોતપોતાના આખા સૈન્યો સાથે નીકળી પડયા. એમાં સાગરકાંઠાની રેતીના કણોની જેમ ગણ્યા ગણાય નહિં એવા અસંખ્ય ઘોડા અને રથ હતા. વ્યૂહરચના કરીને અસંખ્ય લોકો મેરોમ સરોવરની આસપાસ એકત્ર થયા,

They went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
