1તે વખતે યૂનાએ માછલીના પેટમાંથી યહોવાને પ્રાર્થના કરી.
1Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish's belly.
2તેણે કહ્યું, “મારી વિપત્તિમાં મેં યહોવાને બોલાવ્યા અને તેમણે મને પ્રત્યુત્તર આપ્યો; મૃત્યુની ઊંડી ખીણમાં મેં મદદ માટે રૂદન કર્યુ અને તમે મને સાંભળ્યો.
2He said, "I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.
3કારણકે તમે મને સમુદ્રના ઊંડાણમાં ફેંક્યો, પાણીના મોજાઓએ મને બધી બાજુથી ઢાંકી દીધો.
3For you threw me into the depths, In the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
4ત્યારે મને થયું, ‘મને તમારી નજર આગળથી ફેંકી દેવામાં આવ્યો છે;’ તો પણ હું ફરીથી તમારા પવિત્રમંદિર તરફ જોઇશ.
4I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'
5પાણીની ભીંસથી હું મરવા જેવો થઇ ગયો હતો, મહાસાગર મને ચોમેરથી ઘેરી વળ્યો હતો, મારા માથા ફરતે દરિયાઇ વેલા વીંટાઇ ગયા હતા.
5The waters surrounded me, Even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
6હું નીચે પર્વતોના મૂળ તરફ ગયો, પૃથ્વીએ સદા માટે મને બંધી કર્યો. તોપણ હે મારા દેવ, યહોવા તેઁ મને ઉંડી કબરમાંથી બહાર કાઢયો.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: Yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God.
7જ્યારે મારું જીવન તાજગી ગુમાવી રહ્યું હતું. મેં યહોવાને યાદ કર્યાં; મારી પ્રાર્થના તારા પવિત્ર મંદિરમાં તારા કાને પહોંચી.
7"When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
8લોકો કે જેઓ દેવની નકામી મુતિઓર્ પૂજે છે તેઓ તે જ એકને ત્યાગી દે છે જે વફાદારીથી તેમની દરકાર કરત.
8Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9પણ હું બલિઓ અપીર્શ અને તમને ધન્યવાદ આપીશ. હું મારા વચનો જાળવીશ. તારણ યહોવાથી છે.”
9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh."
10યહોવાએ માછલીને આજ્ઞા કરી, ને તેણે યૂનાને કોરી જમીન પર ઓકી નાખ્યો.
10Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
