ત્યારે રાજા સિદકિયાએ ખાનગીમાં યમિર્યાને એવું વચન આપ્યું કે, “આપણને જીવન બક્ષનાર સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવાના સમ ખાઇને કહું છું કે, હું તને મારી નાખવા ઇચ્છતા લોકોના હાથમાં સોંપી દઇશ નહિ કે તને મારી નાખવા દઇશ નહિ.”

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, As Yahweh lives, who made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.
