1યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોશિયાના પુત્ર સિદકિયાની કારકિદીર્ના આરંભમાં યમિર્યાની પાસે આ વચન યહોવાની પાસેથી આવ્યું,
1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
2“યહોવાએ મને કહ્યું, તું તારે માટે ઝૂંસરી જોડતર બનાવ અને તે તારી ડોક પર મૂક, જેમ ખેતર ખેડતા બળદની ડોક પર હોય છે.
2Thus says Yahweh to me: Make you bonds and bars, and put them on your neck;
3ત્યારબાદ અદોમ, મોઆબ, આમ્મોન, તૂર અને સિદોનના રાજાઓને યહૂદિયાના રાજા સિદકિયાના દરબારમાં આવેલા તેના એલચીઓ મારફતે સંદેશા મોકલ:
3and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah;
4તેઓને કહે કે, ‘તમે જઇને તમારા માલિકોને કહો કે, સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવા ઇસ્રાએલના દેવે આ સંદેશો તમને મોકલાવ્યો છે,
4and give them a charge to their masters, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall you tell your masters:
5મેં પોતે જ મહાન સાર્મથ્ય અને શકિતથી પૃથ્વીને અને એના પર વસતાં માણસો અને પશુઓને ર્સજ્યા છે, અને હું ચાહું તેને તે આપી દઇ શકું છું.
5I have made the earth, the men and the animals that are on the surface of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems right to me.
6તેથી હવે તમારા સર્વ દેશો મેં બાબિલના રાજા, મારા સેવક, નબૂખાદનેસ્સારને સોંપ્યા છે. વળી જંગલી પશુઓ પણ તેની સેવા કરે તેવું મેં ઠરાવ્યું છે.
6Now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the animals of the field also have I given him to serve him.
7બધી પ્રજાઓ તેના અને તેના પુત્રના અને પૌત્રના તાબામાં રહેશે, અને અંતે જ્યારે તેના દેશનો વારો આવશે ત્યારે બળવાન પ્રજાઓ અને મહાન રાજાઓ તેને તાબે કરશે; તેને આધીન થાઓ અને તેની સેવા કરો.
7All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondservant.
8“‘બળવાન પ્રજા અને રાજ્ય, બાબિલની ઝૂંસરી નીચે તમારી ગરદન મૂકો! જે કોઇ પ્રજા તેના ગુલામ બનવા ના પાડશે તેને હું શિક્ષા કરીશ. તે પ્રજા પર હું યુદ્ધ, દુકાળ અને મરકી મોકલીશ જેથી અંતે તે બાબિલના હાથમાં સોંપાઇ જાય.
8It shall happen, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says Yahweh, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
9માટે તમારા પ્રબોધકો, જોશીઓ, ભૂવાઓ અને જાદુટોણા કરનારાઓ જેઓ તમને કહે કે, તમે બાબિલના રાજાની સેવા કરશો નહિ, તો તેની તરફ ધ્યાન ના આપશો.
9But as for you, don't you listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:
10કેમકે તેઓએ તમને જૂંઠુ કહ્યું છે, જો તમે તેમની સલાહ માનશો અને બાબિલના રાજાના શરણે નહિ જાવ તો તમને તમારી ભૂમિમાથી હાંકી કાઢવામાં આવશે. હા, હું તમારો પીછો પકડીશ. અને તમે નાશ પામશો.
10for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.
11“‘પણ જો કોઇ પ્રજા બાબિલના રાજાની ઝૂંસરી આગળ ગરદન ઝુકાવી દેશે, તો હું તેને પોતાની ભૂમિમાં સુખથી રહેવા દઇશ. તેઓ ત્યાં ખેતી કરશે અને વસસે.”‘ આ યહોવાના વચન છે.
11But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that nation will I let remain in their own land, says Yahweh; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
12“‘યહૂદિયાના રાજા સિદકિયાને આ બધી બાબતો મે કહી, મેં કહ્યું, “તમે બાબિલના રાજાને શરણે જાવ, જેથી તમે જીવતા રહેશો.
12I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
13તારે તથા તારી પ્રજાએ યુદ્ધ, દુકાળ અને રોગચાળાથી શા માટે મરવું જોઇએ? જે કોઇ પ્રજા બાબિલના રાજાની તાબેદારી ન સ્વીકારે તેની યહોવાએ આ દશા કરવાની ધમકી આપેલી છે.”‘
13Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14તેણે કહ્યું છે, “‘પ્રબોધકોની વાત ના સાંભળશો, જેઓએ તમને કહ્યું છે કે, તમારે બાબિલના રાજાની સેવા ન કરવી, કારણ કે તેઓ જૂઠા છે.
14Don't listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.
15મેં તેમને મોકલ્યા નહોતા. તેઓ મારા નામે તમને જૂઠાણા કહે છે. જો તમે તેઓનું સાંભળ્યા કરશો તો હું તમને આ દેશમાંથી હાંકી કાઢીશ, અને તમે આ ખોટું ભવિષ્ય ભાખનારા પ્રબોધકો સાથે નાશ પામશો.”‘
15For I have not sent them, says Yahweh, but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you , and the prophets who prophesy to you.
166ત્યારબાદ મેં યાજકોને અને બધા લોકોને આ પ્રમાણે કહ્યું, “આ યહોવાના વચન છે: જે પ્રબોધકો તમને એમ કહે છે કે, ‘જુઓ, યહોવાના મંદિરની સાધનસામગ્રી થોડા જ વખતમાં બાબિલમાંથી પાછી લાવવામાં આવશે તેમની વાત સાંભળશો નહિ.’ તેઓ તમને જૂઠું કહે છે;
16Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Don't listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of Yahweh's house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.
17તે લોકોનું કહેવું તમે સાંભળશો નહિ. બાબિલના રાજાની શરણાગતિ સ્વીકારો જેથી તમે જીવતા રહેશો, શા માટે આખું શહેર નાશ પામે?
17Don't listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: why should this city become a desolation?
18જો તેઓ સાચા યહોવાના પ્રબોધકો હોય, જો તેઓ મારી વાણી ઉચ્ચારતા હોય, તો તેમણે અત્યારે મારી સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવાની એવી પ્રાર્થના કરવી કે, મંદિરમાં અને યહૂદિયાના રાજમહેલમાં અને યરૂશાલેમમાં બાકી રહેલી સાધનસામગ્રી બાબિલ ચાલી ન જાય.”
18But if they be prophets, and if the word of Yahweh be with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don't go to Babylon.
19બાબિલનો રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમના પુત્ર યકોન્યાને તથા યહૂદિયાના તેમ જ યરૂશાલેમના સર્વ કુલીન લોકોને યરૂશાલેમમાંથી બાબિલમાં બંદીવાસમાં લઇ ગયો.
19For thus says Yahweh of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,
20ત્યારે મંદિરની સામેનો સ્તંભ, મંદિરના આંગણામાંનો પિત્તળનો મોટો હોજ, ધાતુના પાયા અને ક્રિયાકાંડ માટેના પાત્રો તે લઇ ગયો નહોતો.
20which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn't take, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
21જે પાત્રો યહોવાના મંદિરમાં, યહૂદિયાના રાજાના મહેલમાં તથા યરૂશાલેમમાં હજુ રહેલા છે, તેના વિષે હું, ઇસ્રાએલનો દેવ, સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવા, આમ કહું છું;
21yes, thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:
22તે સર્વ ખજાનો બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવશે અને હું જ્યાં સુધી તેઓ પર ધ્યાન નહિ આપું ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ ત્યાં જ રહેશે. ત્યાર પછી હું તે સર્વ ખજાનાને ફરીથી યરૂશાલેમ લાવીશ.”
22They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be, until the day that I visit them, says Yahweh; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
