1જેઓ અન્યાયી કાયદા ઘડે છે અને અન્યાયી ચુકાદાઓ લખે છે;
1Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write perverseness;
2અને આ રીતે ગરીબોને ન્યાય મળતો અટકાવો છો અને દલિતોના હક છીનવી લો છો. અને વિધવાઓની અને અનાથોની યાતનાઓમાંથી તમે લાભ મેળવો છો.
2to turn aside the needy from justice, and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3તમે ન્યાય ને દિવસે, જ્યારે દૂર દેશથી તમારા પર વિનાશ ઊતરશે ત્યારે તમે શું કરશો? કોની પાસે મદદ માટે દોડશો? તમારી માલમિલ્કત ક્યાં મૂકી જશો?
3What will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your glory?
4યુદ્ધમાં કપાઇને પડ્યા વગર કે કેદ પકડાઇ નીચી મૂંડીએ ઘસડાયા વિના તમારો છૂટકો જ નથી. તમારા કમોર્ને લીધે યહોવાનો રોષ નહિ ઉતરે. તેનો હાથ હજી ઉગામેલો જ રહેશે.
4They shall only bow down under the prisoners, and shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
5પ્રભુએ કહ્યું, “આશ્શૂર તો મારા ગુસ્સાનો દંડૂકો છે, તેના હાથમાં મારા ગુસ્સાની લાઠી છે!
5Ho Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!
6હું તેને અધમીર્ પ્રજા સામે મોકલું છું, મારો રોષ જગાડનાર લોકો સામે જઇ તેમને લૂંટવા, તેમની માલમિલ્કત પડાવી લેવા અને રસ્તા પરના કીચડની જેમ તેમને રોળી નાખવા જણાવું છું.
6I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7“તેનો પોતાનો વિચાર તો જુદો જ છે, તેના મનમાં જુદી જ યોજના છે. વિનાશ કરવાનો જ તેનો વિચાર છે, અનેક પ્રજાઓનો સંહાર કરવાનો તેનો નિર્ધાર છે.
7However he doesn't mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off not a few nations.
8તે કહે છે, ‘મારા સેનાપતિઓ બધાં રાજા નથી?
8For he says, Aren't my princes all of them kings?
9કાલ્નો અને કાર્કમીશ, હમાથ અને આર્પાહ, દમસ્ક અને સમરૂન બધાંના મેં એકસરખા હાલ કરી નાખ્યા છે.
9Isn't Calno as Carchemish? Isn't Hamath as Arpad? Isn't Samaria as Damascus?
10મારો હાથ જ્યાં યરૂશાલેમ અને સમરૂન કરતાં જેઓની કોતરેલી મૂર્તિઓ હતી એવાં રાજ્યોમાં પહોંચી ગયો છે.
10As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, whose engraved images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
11તો જે રીતે સમરૂન અને ત્યાંના દેવોના જેવા હાલહવાલ કર્યા છે, તેવા હાલહવાલ શું હું યરૂશાલેમનાં અને ત્યાંની મૂર્તિઓના નહિ કરું?”‘
11shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
12પણ સિયોન પર્વત પર અને યરૂશાલેમમાં પોતાનું કામ પતાવ્યા પછી યહોવા આશ્શૂરના રાજાને તેની ઉદ્ધત બડાશો માટે અને તેના તુમાખીભર્યા અભિમાન માટે સજા કરશે.
12Therefore it shall happen that, when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
13આશ્શૂરનો રાજા કહે છે, “મારા પોતાના બાહુબળથી અને ડહાપણથી મેં આ કર્યુ છે; હું કેટલો ચતુર છું? રાષ્ટોની સરહદોને મેં હઠાવી દીધી છે. તેમના ભંડારો લૂંટયા છે, અને આખલાની જેમ તેમના રાજાઓને પગ નીચે કચડ્યા છે.
13For he has said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and like a valiant man I have brought down those who sit on thrones:
14રેઢા પડેલા માળાનાં ઇંડાની જેમ પ્રજાની સંપત્તિ મારા હાથમાં આવી પડી છે. મેં આખી દુનિયા ઉપાડી લીધી છે; નથી એકે પાંખ ફફડી, કે નથી એકે ચાંચ ઉઘડી કે નથી કોઇએ ચી’ કર્યુ.”
14and my hand has found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.
15શું કુહાડી તેના વાપરનાર આગળ બડાશ હાંકશે? શું કરવત તેના ખેંચનાર આગળ શેખી મારશે? એ તો લાઠી તેના ઘૂમાવનારને ઘૂમાવે અથવા છડી જે લાકડું નથી એવા માણસને ઉપાડે એના જેવી વાત છે!
15Shall the axe boast itself against him who hews therewith? Shall the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? as if a rod should wield those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up him who is not wood.
16તે માટે સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવા તેના બળવાન યોદ્ધાઓમાં ભયંકર બિમારીઓ મોકલશે; તેમનાં દેહમાં અગ્નિ જેવી જવાળા ભડભડતી રહેશે.
16Therefore will the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.
17ઇસ્રાએલના દીવારૂપ પવિત્ર દેવ જ અગ્નિની પ્રચંડ જવાળા બની જશે. અને તે એક દિવસમાં પેલા કાંટાઝાંખરાને બાળીને ભસ્મીભૂત કરી નાખશે.
17The light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.
18તેના વન ઉપવનના વૈભવને, કોઇ માંદા માણસને તેનો રોગ સમાપ્ત કરી નાખે તેમ સંપૂર્ણ રીતે સમાપ્ત કરી નાખશે.
18He will consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and it shall be as when a standard-bearer faints.
19તેના વનમાં બાકી રહેલા ઝાડ એટલાં ઓછાં હશે કે એક બાળક પણ તેને ગણી શકે.
19The remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child may write them.
20તે સમયે ઇસ્રાએલના બચવા પામેલા માણસો પોતાને ઘા કરનાર દેશ ઉપર આધાર રાખવાનું છોડી દઇ સાચેસાચ ઇસ્રાએલના પવિત્ર દેવ પર આધાર રાખતા થશે;
20It shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and those who are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again lean on him who struck them, but shall lean on Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21બાકી રહેલા યાકૂબના વંશજો મહાબળવાન દેવ પાસે પાછા આવશે.
21A remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
22ઇસ્રાએલીઓ સાગરની રેતી જેટલા હશે, તોયે તેમાંથી ફકત થોડા બાકી રહેલા માણસો જ પાછા આવશે, એમનો વિનાશ નિર્માઈ ચૂક્યો છે, અને પ્રતિશોધ તો પૂરની જેમ આવી રહ્યો છે.
22For though your people, Israel, be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them shall return: a destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
23સૈન્યોના પ્રભુ યહોવાએ, પોતે જાહેર કર્યું હતું તે મુજબ સમગ્ર ભૂમિનો વિનાશ કરવા કૃત નિશ્ચય છે.
23For a full end, and that determined, will the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts, make in the midst of all the earth.
24તેથી મારા માલિક સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવા આ મુજબ કહે છે, “હે સિયોનમાં વસવાટ કરતા મારા લોકો, આશ્શૂરના લોકો મિસરના લોકોની જેમ લાઠીથી તમને મારે અને દંડા ઉગામે તોયે તમે તેમનાથી બીશો નહિ.
24Therefore thus says the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts, my people who dwell in Zion, don't be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, after the manner of Egypt.
25કારણ કે થોડા જ સમયમાં મારો ક્રોધ તેમનો વિનાશ કરશે.”
25For yet a very little while, and the indignation against you shall be accomplished, and my anger shall be directed to his destruction.
26હું, સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવા, મેં, જેમ ઓરેબના ખડક પાસે મિદ્યાનના લોકોને માર્યા હતા તેમ આશ્શૂરના લોકોને ફટકારીશ. અને હું તેમની સામે દંડ ઉગામીશ જેમ મેં સમુદ્ર પર આવેલા મિસર પર કર્યુ હતું તેમ.
26Yahweh of Hosts will stir up against him a scourge, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and his rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27તે દિવસે આશ્શૂરનો બોજો તમારા ખભા પરથી ઊતરી જશે અને તેની ઝૂંસરી તમારી ડોક પરથી ફગાવી દેવામાં આવશે.
27It shall happen in that day, that his burden shall depart from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed by reason of fatness.
28તે આયાથ આવી પહોંચ્યો છે, તે મિગ્રોનમાં થઇને ગયો છે; મિખ્માશમાં તે પોતાનો સરસામાન રાખી મૂકે છે.
28He is come to Aiath, he is passed through Migron; at Michmash he lays up his baggage;
29તેઓ ખીણની પાર આવ્યા છે; ગેબામાં તેઓએ ઉતારો કર્યો છે; રામા થથરે છે, શાઉલનું ગિબયાહ નાસાનાસ કરે છે;
29they are gone over the pass; they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah trembles; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
30હે બાથ ગાલ્લીમ, હાંક માર; હે લાઇશાહ, કાળજી પૂર્વક સાંભળ, હે અનાથોથ, તેને જવાબ દે.
30Cry aloud with your voice, daughter of Gallim! listen, Laishah! You poor Anathoth!
31માદમેનાહના લોકો નાસભાગ કરે છે, ગેબીમના લોકો જીવ બચાવવા ભાગે છે.
31Madmenah is a fugitive; the inhabitants of Gebim flee for safety.
32હુમલાખોરો આજે જ નોબમાં મુકામ કરશે. અને સિયોનના પર્વત ભણી, યરૂશાલેમ ભણી તે મુઠ્ઠી ઉગામશે.
32This very day shall he halt at Nob: he shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33પરંતુ અમારા માલિક સૈન્યોનો પ્રભુ યહોવા, ફટકા સાથે કોઇ વૃક્ષની ડાળીઓની જેમ તેમને કાપી નાખશે; તે ઊંચા, મજબૂત ઝાડોને કાપી નાખશે અને તેને જમીન પર ફેંકી દેશે;
33Behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts, will lop the boughs with terror: and the high of stature shall be hewn down, and the lofty shall be brought low.
34કુહાડીથી કપાતાં જંગલના ઝાડોની જેમ તે તેમને કાપી નાખશે અને લબાનોનનાં ભવ્યમાં ભવ્ય વૃક્ષો પણ ધરાશાયી થઇ જશે.
34He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
