1હવે આપણે ખ્રિસ્તના સિદ્ધાંતના પ્રાથમિક શિક્ષણની ચર્ચા બંધ કરવી જ જોઈએ. જ્યાંથી શરુંઆત કરી, ત્યા આપણે પાછા ન ફરીએ જેમ કે મૃત્યુ તરફ લઈ જતાં સારાં કર્મોથી દેવમાં વિશ્વાસ મૂકો.
1Therefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection�not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,
2વળી બાપ્તિસ્માવિષે તે વખતે આપણને શીખવવામાં આવ્યું હતું. અને લોકો ઉપર હાથ મૂકવાથી અને મૃત્યુ પછી ફરી સજીવન થવું અને અનંતકાળના ન્યાયકરણ વિષે આપણને શીખવવામાં આવ્યું હતું, પણ આપણને વધુ ઉચ્ચ કક્ષાના શિક્ષણની જરુંર છે.
2of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3અને જો દેવની ઈચ્છા હશે તો અમે એ પણ કરીશું.
3This will we do, if God permits.
4જે લોકો એક વખત સત્ય જાણવા આવ્યા, જેમને સ્વર્ગીય દાનોનો અનુભવ થયો, પવિત્ર આત્માના દાનની ભાગીદારી અને દેવના સંદેશના સૌંદર્યનો અનુભવ કરાવ્યો.
4For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5અને દેવની નવી દુનિયાની મહાન સત્તાને જોઈ. પછી આ બધું હોવા છતાં તેઓનું પતન થયું.
5and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,
6તેમના જીવનનું તેમના માટે પરિવર્તન ફરીથી કરવું અશક્ય છે, શા માટે? કારણ કે આ લોકો ખરેખર દેવના પુત્રને ફરીથી વધસ્તંભે જડાવે છે. લોકો સમક્ષ તેનું અપમાન કરે છે.
6and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.
7આ લોકો તે ભૂમિ જેવા છે જે તેના પર વારંવાર પડતા વરસાદનું તે શોષણ કરે છે. જેઓ તેને ખેડે છે અને તેની કાળજી રાખે છે તેઓ ઉપયોગી પાકની પ્રાપ્તિ માટે આશા રાખે છે. જો તે ભૂમિ આવો પાક પેદા કરશે તો દેવનો આશીર્વાદ તેના પર ઉતરશે.
7For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it, and brings forth a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;
8પણ જો એ જમીન કાંટા અને ઝાંખરા ઉગાડ્યા કરે તો છેવટે બિનઉપયોગી અને શ્રાપિત થઈ બળી જશે.
8but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
9પ્રિય મિત્રો, ભલે હું આમ કહું છું. પરંતુ તમારી બાબતમાં તમારી પાસે સારી અપેક્ષા રાખું છું. અને અમને ખાતરી છે કે તમે એવું કૃત્ય કરશો કે જે તારણનો એક ભાગ હશે.
9But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak like this.
10પ્રભુ ન્યાયી છે. કારણ કે દેવના લોકો માટે તમે જે કંઈ કાર્યો કર્યા છે, તે દેવ ભૂલી શકે નહિ. તમે સંતો પર દર્શાવેલ પ્રેમ અને હાલ જેમની સેવા કરો છો તે બધું દેવ ભૂલી શકે નહિ.
10For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.
11અમે ઈચ્છા રાખીએ છીએ કે તમે દરેક જણ છેવટ સુધી આ પ્રમાણે ઉત્સાહ બતાવવાનું ચાલુ રાખશો જ્યાં સુધી આશા પૂર્ણ થાય. તમે જે કઈ ઇચ્છો છો તે મેળવી શકો.
11We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,
12અમે એ નથી ઈચ્છતા કે તમે આળસુ બનો. અમે ઈચ્છીએ છીએ કે જે લોકો દેવે આપેલ વચન મુજબનાં વાનાં મેળવે છે તેમના જેવા તમે બનો. તે લોકો દેવનાં વચનો પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે કારણ કે તેઓમાં વિશ્વાસ અને ધીરજ છે.
12that you won't be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises.
13દેવે ઈબ્રાહિમને વચન આપ્યું, ત્યારે પોતાના (દેવના) કરતાં કોઈ મહાન નહિ હોવાને લીધે તેણે પોતાનાં જ નામે શપથ લીધા.
13For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he swore by himself,
14દેવે કહ્યું. “હું તનેનક્કી ઘણાજ આશીર્વાદો અને ઘણા જ સંતાનો આપીશ.”
14saying, "Most surely I will bless you, and I will surely multiply you."
15એ વચન પરિપૂર્ણ થાય, ત્યાં સુધી ઈબ્રાબિમે ઘણી જ ધીરજ રાખી. અને દેવે જે વચન આપ્યું હતું, તે ઈબ્રાહિમે મેળવ્યું.
15Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16માણસ પોતાના કરતાં મહાન વ્યક્તિના નામે શપથ લે છે. અને શપથથી સઘળી તકરારોનો અંત આવે છે.
16For men indeed swear by a greater one, and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.
17દેવને એ ખાતરી કરાવવી હતી કે તેણે આપેલ વચન સત્ય હતું. તેને એ સાબિત કરવું હતું કે તેણે જેને જે વચન આપ્યાં છે તે તેઓ પ્રાપ્ત કરશે કારણ તેનો નિર્ણય બદલી શકાય તેમ નથી. તેથી વચનના પાલન સંબધી સંપૂર્ણ ખાતરી માટે દેવ પોતે પણ શપથથી બંધાયો છે.
17In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;
18પેલી બે વસ્તુ કદી બદલાતી નથી. એક તો દેવ કઈક કહે છે ત્યારે તે કદી અસત્ય હોતું નથી અને જ્યારે તે સમ લે છે ત્યારે તે જૂઠા હોઈ શકે નહિ.આ બે બાબતો આપણને દિલાસો આપે છે કે આશાને વળગી રહેવા દેવ પાસે આશ્રય માટે આવનારને સલામતી આશ્રય અને સામથ્યૅ મળે છે.
18that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.
19આ આશા આપણા આત્માઓના એક મજબૂત અને વિશ્વાસ યોગ્ય લંગર સમાન છે. વળી તે આપણને સૌથી પવિત્ર સ્થાનના પડદા પાછળ રહેલાં સ્વર્ગીય મંદિરમાં દેવ સાથે બાંધે છે.
19This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;
20ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તે સ્વર્ગીય સ્થાનમાં આપણી અગાઉ પ્રવેશ કર્યો છે. અને આપણા માટે રસ્તો ખુલ્લો કર્યો છે અને મલ્ખીસદેકના ધારા પ્રમાણે તે હંમેશને માટે આપણો પ્રમુખયાજક થયો છે.
20where as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
