લામેખે પોતાની પત્નીઓને કહ્યું:“આદાહ અને સિલ્લાહ, માંરી વાત સાંભળો. હે લામેખની પત્નીઓ માંરે જે કહેવું પડે છે તે કાળજીપૂર્વક સાંભળો. મને દુ:ખ પહોંચાડનાર એક માંણસને, મેં માંરી નાખ્યો છે. મને માંરતાં એક છોકરાને મેં માંરી નાખ્યો છે.

Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech, For I have slain a man for wounding me, A young man for bruising me.
