પરંતુ ઇસ્રાએલની વસ્તીમાં અનહદ વધારો થતો જ રહ્યો. તેઓની સંખ્યા પુષ્કળ વધી અને તેઓ એટલા બધા શક્તિશાળી બન્યા કે સમગ્ર દેશમાં તેઓ છવાઈ ગયા.
