યહોવા કહે છે: “અદોમના લોકોએ વારંવાર પાપ કર્યા છે અને હું તેમને ભૂલી જઇશ નહિ. હું તેને શિક્ષા કર્યા વિના છોડીશ નહિ. તેણે દયાને નેવે મૂકીને હાથમાં તરવાર લઇને પોતાના જાતભાઇઓ યાકૂબના વંશજોનો પીછો કર્યો હતો. તેનો ક્રોધ સદા ભભૂકતો જ રહ્યો. તેનો રોષ કદી શમ્યો જ નહિ,

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because he pursued his brother with the sword, And cast off all pity, And his anger raged continually, And he kept his wrath forever;
