1ત્યારબાદ દાઉદે પલિસ્તીઓને હરાવ્યાં, તેણે તેઓના દેશને અને તેઓની રાજધાની નગરના મોટા વિસ્તારને કબજે કરી લીધો.
1After this it happened that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
2તેણે મોઆબીઓને પણ હરાવ્યાં અને તેમને જમીન પર સુવાડી દીધા અને દોરડાથી હારબંધ તેઓને છૂટા પાડ્યા. બે હારના માંણસો માંર્યા પરંતુ ત્રીજા હારના માંણસો જીવતા રહ્યાં. આમ મોઆબીઓ તેના તાબેદાર બન્યા તેઓ તેને માંટે કામ કરવા લાગ્યાં.
2He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
3રાહોબના પુત્ર સોબાહના રાજા હદાદએઝેરને દાઉદે હરાવ્યો, જ્યારે દાઉદ યુફ્રેતિસ નદી પાસેના વિસ્તારને અંકુશમાં રાખવા ગયો હતો.
3David struck also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
4દાઉદે તેની પાસેથી 1ણ 700 ઘોડેસ્વાર સૈનિકો અને 20,000 પાયદળના સૈનિકોને કબજે કર્યા. દાઉદે 100 ઘોડાઓ રાખ્યા અને બાકીનાને લંગડા કરી દીધા.
4David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.
5દમસ્કસના અરામીઓ સોબાહના રાજા હદાદએઝેરની મદદ કરવા આવ્યા, પરંતુ દાઉદે 22,000 અરામીઓને હરાવ્યા.
5When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6દાઉદે દમસ્કસમાં સૈન્ય રાખ્યું અને અરામીઓ દાઉદના સેવકો બની ગયા અને ખંડણી ભરવા લાગ્યા. આમ, દાઉદ જયાં જયાં ગયો ત્યાં યહોવાએ તેને વિજય અપાવ્યો.
6Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
7હદાદએઝેરના સેવકો જે સોનાની ઢાલ રાખતા હતા તે પડાવી લઈને દાઉદ યરૂશાલેમ લઈ આવ્યો.
7David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8પછી દાઉદે બેટાહ અને બેરોથાયથી પિત્તળમાંથી બનાવેલી ઘણી વસ્તુઓ લીધી, આ નગરો હદાદએઝેરની માંલિકીની હતી.
8From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9જયારે હમાંથના રાજા ટોઈને ખબર મળી કે દાઉદે હદાદએઝેરના આખા લશ્કરને હરાવ્યું છે.
9When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the host of Hadadezer,
10એટલે તેણે પોતાના પુત્ર યોરામને રાજા દાઉદને હદાદએઝેર પર વિજય મેળવવા માંટે અને તેના લશ્કરને પરાજય આપવા બદલ અભિનંદન આપવા મોકલ્યો; હદાદેઝરને ટોઈની સાથે હંમેશા યુદ્ધ ચાલ્યા કરતાં હતાં. યોરામ પોતાની સાથે સોના અને ચાંદીથી બનેલી વસ્તુઓ અને પિત્તળનાં વાસણો લઈ ગયો હતો.
10then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11દાઉદે આ બધી વસ્તુઓ લીધી અને યહોવાને અર્પણ કરી અને બધું યહોવાના મંદિરમાં સેવા માંટે અર્પણ કર્યું. આ બધી વસ્તુઓ દાઉદે તેણે હરાવેલા દેશોમાંથી લીધી હતી.
11These also did king David dedicate to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;
12દાઉદે અરામીઓ, મોઆબીઓ, આમ્મોનીઓ, પલિસ્તીઓ, અને અમાંલેકીઓ તથા સોબાહના રાજા હદાદએઝેર રાહોબના પુત્રને હરાવ્યાં હતાં.
12of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13વળી, દાઉદે મીઠાની ખીણમાં જ18,000 અરામીઓને હરાવીને ભારે નામના મેળવી,
13David got him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.
14અને દાઉદે સમગ્ર અદોમ પ્રદેશમાં સૈનિકોના સમૂહની નિમણૂક કરી. બધા અદોમીઓ દાઉદના ગુલામ થઈ ગયા. યહોવાએ દાઉદને સર્વત્ર વિજય અપાવ્યો.
14He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
15દાઉદે સમગ્ર ઇસ્રાએલ પર રાજય સ્થાપ્યું અને પોતાની બધી પ્રજા ઉપર ધર્મ અને ન્યાયપૂર્વક શાસન કર્યું.
15David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
16સરૂયાનો પુત્ર યોઆબ તેના લશ્કરનો સેનાપતિ હતો. અહીલૂદનો પુત્ર યહોશાફાટ તેનો ઇતિહાસકાર હતો.
16Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17અહીલૂબનો પુત્ર સાદોક તથા અબ્યાથારનો પુત્ર અહીમેલેખ પ્રમુખ યાજકો હતાં. સરૂયા અંગતમંત્રી હતો.
17and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;
18યહોયાદાનો પુત્ર બનાયા કરેથીઓનો અને પલેથીઓનોઅંગરક્ષક હતો. અને દાઉદના પુત્રો મુખ્ય કારભારી હતા.
18and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
