દાઉદ ટેકરીના શિખર પર પહોંચ્યો જ્યાં તે દેવની ઉપાસના કરવા ઘણીવાર જતો હતો, ત્યાં તે તેના મિત્ર આકીર્ હૂશાયને મળ્યો. શોકમાં તેણે પોતાનાં વસ્ત્રો ફાડી નાખ્યાં હતાં અને માંથા પર ધૂળ નાખી હતી.
