જે ઇસ્રાએલ પાસે પાપ કરાવતો હતો તે નબાટના પુત્ર યરોબઆમને ફકત યેહૂ રોકી ન શક્યો. બેથેલ અને દાનમાં ચાલતી સોનાના વાછરડાને પૂજવાની પ્રણાલીને તે બંધ ન કરી શક્યો.
