1સુલેમાંનની કીતિર્ સાંભળીને શેબાની રાણીએ સુલેમાંનને અટપટા પ્રશ્ર્નો પૂછીને તેના જ્ઞાનની કસોટી કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો.
1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2તે પોતાની સાથે મોટો રસાલો, અને લાદેલાં ઊંટો અત્તરો, પુષ્કળ સોનું અને ઝવેરાત લઈને યરૂશાલેમ આવી પહોંચી. તેણે સુલેમાંન પાસે આવીને પોતાના મનમાં હતા, તે બધા પ્રશ્ર્નો તેને પૂછયા.
2She came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.
3સુલેમાંને તેના તમાંમ પ્રશ્રોના ઉત્તર આપ્યા. તેને માંટે એકેય પ્રશ્ર બહુ મુશ્કેલ ન હતો, તેથી તે તેને બધું જ કહી શક્યો.
3Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hidden from the king which he didn't tell her.
4પછી રાણીને ખાતરી થઈ કે રાજા સુલેમાંન ખૂબ શાણો હતો. રાજાએ બંધાવેલો સુંદર મહેલ પણ તેણે જોયો.
4When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
5વળી તેના ભાણામાં પીરસાતી વિવિધ વાનગીઓ તેની આસપાસ બેઠેલા દરબારીઓ, તેના સેવકો, તેમનો પોષાક અને તેમના વસ્રો, તેના પાત્રવાહકો અને જુદી જુદી જાતના યજ્ઞો જે યહોવાના મંદિરમાં અર્પણ કર્યા હતા તે જોઈને રાણી સ્તબ્ધ થઈ ગઈ.
5and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.
6અને તેણે રાજાને કહ્યું, “મેં માંરા દેશમાં તમાંરે વિષે તથા તમાંરા જ્ઞાન વિષે જે સાંભળ્યું હતું તે બધું સાચું હતું.
6She said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.
7હું અહીં આવી એ પહેલાં આ સઘળું માંરા માંન્યામાં આવતું ન હતું; પણ હવે તો મેં પોતે જોયું છે! અને સાચે જ. આમાંનું અડધું પણ મને કહેવામાં આવ્યું ન હતું; મેં સાંભળ્યું હતું તેના કરતા તમાંરું જ્ઞાન અને સમૃદ્ધિ ઘણાં વધારે છે.
7However I didn't believe the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me; your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
8તમાંરા લોકો કેટલાં સુખી છે! સદા તમાંરી હાજરીમાં રહેતા અને તમાંરી જ્ઞાનવાણી સાંભળતા આ દરબારીઓ કેટલા ભાગ્યશાળી છે!
8Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, and who hear your wisdom.
9તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાની સ્તુતિ થજો, જેણે તમાંરા પર પ્રસન્ન થઈને તમને ઇસ્રાએલની ગાદીએ બેસાડયા! કારણકે ઇસ્રાએલ પર યહોવાને કાયમ પ્રેમ હોવાથી તેણે તમને ઇસ્રાએલમાં ન્યાય અને સત્ય પરાયણતા મેળવવા માંટે ઇસ્રાએલના રાજા બનાવ્યા છે.”
9Blessed be Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel: because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do justice and righteousness.
10ત્યારબાદ તેણે રાજાને 4,080 કિલો સોનું અને પુષ્કળ અત્તરો અને ઝવેરાત ભેટ ધર્યુ. શેબાની રાણીએ રાજા સુલેમાંનને ભેટ ધરેલાં અત્તરો જેવાં પહેલાં ક્યારેય જોવામાં આવ્યા નહોતા.
10She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
11આ ઉપરાંત હીરામનાં વહાણોનો જે કાફલો ઓફીરથી સોનું લાવ્યો હતો, તે ત્યાંથી પુષ્કળ સુખડનું લાકડું અને ઝવેરાત લઈ આવ્યો હતો.
11The navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.
12રાજાએ એ લાકડું યહોવાના મંદિર અને તેના પોતાના મહેલના પાયા બનાવવા માંટે અને સંગીતકારો માંટે વાજિંત્રો બનાવવામાં વાપર્યુ હતું; ત્યાર પછી એવું લાકડું ક્યારેય લવાયું નથી, કે જોવામાં સુદ્ધાં આવ્યું નથી.
12The king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of Yahweh, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for the singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.
13રાજા સુલેમાંને શેબાની રાણી અને તેના સેવકોને તેણે જે જે માંગ્યું તે બધું આપ્યું, તેણે રાણીને જે એક રાજા આપી શકે તે બધું ઉદારતાથી આપ્યું હતું અને પછી રાણી પોતાના દેશમાં પાછી ફરી.
13King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
14સુલેમાંન રાજાને પ્રતિવર્ષ લગભગ 22,644 કિલો સોનું મળતું હતું.
14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
15તદુપરાંત વેપારની વસ્તુઓ, પરદેશો સાથેના વેપારનો નફો અને આરબ રાજાઓએ મોકલાવેલી વસ્તુઓ વગેરે તો વધારાનું.
15besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.
16રાજા સુલેમાંને સોનાની 200 મોટી ઢાલો બનાવી; અને દરેક મોટી ઢાલમાં લગબગ 7 કિલો સોનું વપરાયું હતું.
16King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.
17વળી તેણે બીજી 300 નાની ઢાલો બનાવી, એ પ્રત્યેક નાની ઢાલમાં પોણાબે કિલો પર સોનું વપરાયું હતું. આ સઘળી ઢાલને તેણે પોતાના રાજમહેલમાં ‘લબાનોનના વનગૃહ’ નામની જગ્યામાં રાખી હતી.
17he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18વળી રાજાએ હાથીદંાતનું એક મોટું સિંહાસન બનાવડાવ્યું, અને તેને શુદ્વ સોનાથિ મઢાવ્યું.
18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.
19એ સિંહાસનને છ પગથિયાં હતાં એની પાછળનો આકાર ગોળ હતો, તેને બાજુમાં બે હાથા હતા અને પ્રત્યેક હાથાને અડીને એકેક સિંહ ઊભેલો હતો,
19There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.
20અને દરેક પગથિયાને સામે છેડે સિંહો ઉભેલા હતા બધું મળીને કુલ બાર સિંહો હતા, બીજા કોઈ પણ રાજયમાં આવું સિંહાસન કદી બનાવવામાં આવ્યું નહોતું.
20Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.
21રાજા સુલેમાંનના બધા પ્યાલાઓ શુદ્ધ સોનાના બનેલા હતા, અને લબાનોનના વનગૃહની દરેક વસ્તુઓ શુદ્વ સોનાની બનાવેલી હતી. ચાંદી બિલકુલ વાપરવામાં આવી નહોતી, કારણ, સુલેમાંનના જમાંનામાં તેની કશી કિંમત નહોતી.
21All king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
22સુલેમાંન રાજા અને હીરામ રાજા વચ્ચે વેપારી વહાણોનો વિશાળ કાફલો હતો. દર ત્રણ વષેર્ એક વખત આ વહાણોનો કાફલો સોનું, ચાંદી, હાથીદાંત, વાનરો અને મોર લઈને આવતો હતો.
22For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
23સમૃદ્ધિ અને જ્ઞાનની બાબતમાં પૃથ્વી પરના તમાંમ રાજાઓ કરતાં સુલેમાંન રાજા ચઢિયાતો હતો.
23So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
24સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાંથી લોકો તેની દેવદત્ત જ્ઞાનની વાતો સાંભળવા માંટે આવતા હતા.
24All the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25તેને મળવા આવનાર પ્રત્યેક વ્યકિત સોના-ચાંદીના પાત્રો, સુંદર વસ્ત્રો, શસ્ત્રો, સુગંધી દ્રવ્યો, ઘોડા અને ખચ્ચરો રાજાને માંટે વાષિર્ક વસૂલી તરીકે લાવતા હતા.
25They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
26સુલેમાંને રથો અને ઘોડાઓની એક મોટી સેના ઊભી કરી, તેની પાસે 1,400 રથો અને 12,000 ઘોડા હતા. એમાંના કેટલાક એણે ચોક્કસ નિયુકત નગરોમાં રાખ્યા અને બાકીના યરૂશાલેમમાં રાખ્યા.
26Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
27સુલેમાંને યરૂશાલેમમાં ચાંદી પથ્થર જેટલી સામાંન્ય બનાવી દીધી હતી; અને દેવદારનું લાકડું શેફેલાહના અંજીરના વૃક્ષના લાકડાના જેવું સામાંન્ય બનાવી દીધું હતું.
27The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
28સુલેમાંનને માંટે ઘોડા મિસર અને કિલકિયાથી આયાત કરવામાં આવતા હતાં, રાજાના આડતિયાઓ કિલકિયાથી ઠરાવેલી કિંમતે ઘોડા ખરીદતા હતા.
28The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king's merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.
29રથોની કિંમત લગભગ સાત કિલો ચાંદી જેટલી મિસરથી લાવવામાં આવતી હતી, અને ઘોડા દરેક પોણા બે કિલો ચાંદી વડે ખરીદાયા હતા. હિત્તીઓના રાજાઓ અને અરામના રાજાઓ પણ ઘોડા અને રથો તે વેપારીઓ પાસેથી ખરીદતાં હતાં જેઓ તેની આયાત કરતાં હતાં.
29A chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
