1হে প্রভু, তুমিই আমাদের বাসস্থান হইয়া আসিতেছ, পুরুষে পুরুষে হইয়া আসিতেছ।
1BOOK IV A Prayer by Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations.
2পর্ব্বতগণের জন্ম হইবার পূর্ব্বে, তুমি পৃথিবী ও জগৎকে জন্ম দিবার পূর্ব্বে, এমন কি, অনাদিকাল হইতে অনন্তকাল তুমিই ঈশ্বর।
2Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever you had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
3তুমি মর্ত্ত্যকে ধূলিতে ফিরাইয়া থাক, বলিয়া থাক, মনুষ্য-সন্তানেরা, ফিরিয়া যাও।
3You turn man to destruction, saying, "Return, you children of men."
4কেননা সহস্র বৎসর তোমার দৃষ্টিতে যেন গত কল্য, তাহা ত চলিয়া গিয়াছে, আর যেন রাত্রির এক প্রহরমাত্র।
4For a thousand years in your sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, As a watch in the night.
5তুমি তাহাদিগকে যেন বন্যায় ভাসাইয়া লইয়া যাইতেছ, তাহারা স্বপ্নবৎ; প্রাতঃকালে তাহারা তৃণের ন্যায়, যাহা বাড়িয়া উঠে।
5You sweep them away as they sleep. In the morning they sprout like new grass.
6প্রাতঃকালে তৃণ পুষ্পিত হয়, ও বাড়িয়া উঠে, সায়ংকালে ছিন্ন হইয়া শুষ্ক হয়।
6In the morning it sprouts and springs up. By evening, it is withered and dry.
7কেননা তোমার ক্রোধে আমরা ক্ষয় পাই, তোমার কোপে আমরা বিহ্বল হই।
7For we are consumed in your anger. We are troubled in your wrath.
8তুমি রাখিয়াছ আমাদের অপরাধ সকল তোমার সাক্ষাতে, আমাদের গুপ্ত বিষয় সকল তোমার মুখের দীপ্তিতে।
8You have set our iniquities before you, Our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9কেননা তোমার ক্রোধে আমাদের সকল দিন বহিয়া যায়, আমরা আপন আপন বৎসর শ্বাসবৎ শেষ করি।
9For all our days have passed away in your wrath. We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10আমাদের আয়ুর পরিমাণ সত্তর বৎসর; বলযুক্ত হইলে আশী বৎসর হইতে পারে; তথাপি তাহাদের দর্প ক্লেশ ও দুঃখমাত্র, কেননা তাহা বেগে পলায়ন করে, এবং আমরা উড়িয়া যাই।
10The days of our years are seventy, Or even by reason of strength eighty years; Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, For it passes quickly, and we fly away.
11তোমার কোপের বল কে বুঝে? তোমার ভয়াবহতার অনুরূপ ক্রোধ কে বুঝে?
11Who knows the power of your anger, Your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
12এরূপে আমাদের দিন গণনা করিতে শিক্ষা দেও, যেন আমরা প্রজ্ঞার চিত্ত লাভ করি।
12So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13হে সদাপ্রভু, ফির, কত কাল? তোমার দাসগণের প্রতি সদয় হও।
13Relent, Yahweh! How long? Have compassion on your servants!
14প্রত্যূষে আমাদিগকে তোমার দয়াতে তৃপ্ত কর, যেন আমরা যাবজ্জীবন আনন্দ ও আহ্লাদ করি।
14Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15যত দিন তুমি আমাদিগকে দুঃখ দিয়াছ, যত বৎসর আমরা বিপদ দেখিয়াছি, তদনুসারে আমাদিগকে আনন্দিত কর।
15Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, For as many years as we have seen evil.
16তোমার দাসগণের কাছে তোমার কর্ম্ম, তাহাদের সন্তানদের উপরে তোমার প্রতাপ দৃষ্ট হউক।
16Let your work appear to your servants; Your glory to their children.
17আর আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর প্রসন্নভাব আমাদের উপরে বর্ত্তুক; আর তুমি আমাদের পক্ষে আমাদের হস্তের কর্ম্ম স্থায়ী কর, আমাদের হস্তের কর্ম্ম তুমি স্থায়ী কর।
17Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; Establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.
