হে ঈশ্বর, আমরা তোমার ধন্যবাদ করিতেছি, ধন্যবাদ করিতেছি, কেননা তোমার নাম নিকটবর্ত্তী; লোকে তোমার আশ্চর্য্য কর্ম্ম সকল বর্ণনা করে।

For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." A Psalm by Asaph. A song. We give thanks to you, God, We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.

‘‘আমি যখন নিরূপিত সময় উপস্থিত করিব, তখন আমিই ন্যায্য বিচার করিব।

When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly.

পৃথিবী ও তন্নিবাসীগণ বিলীন হইতেছে; আমি তাহার স্তম্ভ সকল স্থাপন করিয়াছি। সেলা।

The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.

আমি গর্ব্বিত লোকদিগকে কহিলাম, গর্ব্ব করিও না; দুষ্ট লোকদিগকে কহিলাম, শৃঙ্গ তুলিও না।

I said to the arrogant, "Don't boast;" To the wicked, "Don't lift up the horn.
5
তোমাদের শৃঙ্গ উচ্চে তুলিও না; শক্তগ্রীব হইয়া কথা কহিও না।’’

Don't lift up your horn on high. Don't speak with a stiff neck."

কেননা উদয় স্থান হইতে, কি পশ্চিম হইতে, অথবা দক্ষিণ হইতে উন্নতিলাভ হয়, এমন নয়।

For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.

কিন্তু ঈশ্বরই বিচারকর্ত্তা; তিনি কাহাকে নত, কাহাকে বা উন্নত করেন।

But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.
8
কেননা সদাপ্রভুর হস্তে এক পানপাত্র আছে, তাহার দ্রাক্ষারস মাতিয়া উঠিয়াছে, তাহা মিশ্রিত মদ্যে পরিপূর্ণ, আর তিনি তাহা হইতে ঢালেন, পৃথিবীর দুষ্ট সকলে তাহার তলানি পর্য্যন্ত চাটিয়া খাইবে।

For in the hand of Yahweh there is a cup, Full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.

কিন্তু আমি চিরকাল প্রচার করিব, যাকোবের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে সঙ্গীত করিব।

But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

আর আমি দুষ্টগণের সমস্ত শৃঙ্গ কাটিয়া ফেলিব, কিন্তু ধার্ম্মিকগণের শৃঙ্গ উচ্চীকৃত হইবে।

I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
