1ঈশ্বর নিতান্তই মঙ্গলস্বরূপ, ইস্রায়েলের পক্ষে, যাহারা শুদ্ধচিত্ত তাহাদের পক্ষে।
1BOOK III A Psalm by Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart.
2কিন্তু আমার চরণ প্রায় টলিয়াছিল; আমার পাদবিক্ষেপ প্রায় স্খলিত হইয়াছিল।
2But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.
3কারণ যখন দুষ্টদের কল্যাণ দেখিয়াছিলাম, তখন গর্ব্বিতদের প্রতি ঈর্ষা করিয়াছিলাম।
3For I was envious of the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4কেননা তাহারা মৃত্যুকালে যন্ত্রণা পায় না, বরং তাহাদের কলেবর হৃষ্টপুষ্ট।
4For there are no struggles in their death, But their strength is firm.
5মর্ত্ত্যের ন্যায় কষ্ট তাহাদের হয় না; মনুষ্যের মত তাহারা আহত হয় না।
5They are free from burdens of men, Neither are they plagued like other men.
6এইজন্য অহঙ্কার তাহাদের কণ্ঠের হারবৎ, দৌরাত্ম্য বস্ত্রবৎ তাহাদিগকে আচ্ছাদন করে।
6Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
7তাহাদের চক্ষু মেদে ঠেলিয়া উঠে, তাহাদের মনের সঙ্কল্প অপরিমিত।
7Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
8তাহারা বিদ্রূপ করে, ও দুষ্টতায় উপদ্রবের কথা কহে, তাহারা দর্পকথা কহে।
8They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
9তাহারা আকাশে মুখ রাখিয়াছে, এবং তাহাদের জিহ্বা পৃথিবীতে বিহার
9They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
10এইজন্য তাহাদের জনতা সেই দিকে ফিরে, প্রচুর জল তাহাদের দ্বারা গিলিত হয়।
10Therefore their people return to them, And they drink up waters of abundance.
11আর তাহারা বলে, ঈশ্বর কি রূপে জানিবেন? পরাৎপরের কি জ্ঞান আছে?
11They say, "How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?"
12দেখ, ইহারাই দুর্জন, ইহারা চিরকাল নির্ব্বিঘ্নে থাকিয়া ধন বৃদ্ধি করিয়াছে।
12Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
13নিশ্চয় আমি বৃথাই চিত্ত পরিষ্কার করিয়াছি, নির্দ্দোষতায় হস্ত প্রক্ষালন করিয়াছি।
13Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocence,
14কেননা আমি সমস্ত দিন আহত হইয়াছি, প্রতি প্রভাতে শাস্তি পাইয়াছি।
14For all day long have I been plagued, And punished every morning.
15যদি আমি বলিতাম, এইরূপ বর্ণনা করিব, তবে দেখ, তোমার সন্তানদের বংশের প্রতি বিশ্বাসঘাতক হইতাম।
15If I had said, "I will speak thus;" Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
16আমি তাহা বুঝিবার জন্য চিন্তা করিলাম, কিন্তু তাহা আমার দৃষ্টিতে কষ্টকর হইল,
16When I tried to understand this, It was too painful for me;
17যাবৎ আমি ঈশ্বরের ধর্ম্মধামে প্রবেশ না করিলাম, ও তাহাদের শেষ ফল বিবেচনা না করিলাম।
17Until I entered God's sanctuary, And considered their latter end.
18তুমি তাহাদিগকে পিচ্ছিল স্থানেই রাখিতেছ, তাহাদিগকে বিনাশে ফেলিয়া দিতেছ।
18Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
19তাহারা নিমিষকাল মধ্যে কেমন উচ্ছিন্ন হয়, নানা ত্রাসে কেমন নিঃশেষে সংহার পায়।
19How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
20নিদ্রা ভঙ্গ হইলে পর যেমন স্বপ্ন তুচ্ছ হয়, তেমনি, হে প্রভু, তুমি জাগিলে তাহাদের মায়াপুত্তলিকে তুচ্ছ করিবে।
20As a dream when one wakes up, So, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
21কারণ আমার চিত্ত তাপিত হইল, আমার মর্ম্ম বিদ্ধ হইল;
21For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
22আমি মূর্খ ও অজ্ঞান, তোমার কাছে পশুবৎ ছিলাম।
22I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
23কিন্তু আমি নিরন্তর তোমার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আছি; তুমি আমার দক্ষিণ হস্ত ধরিয়া রাখিয়াছ।
23Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
24তুমি নিজ মন্ত্রণায় আমাকে গমন করাইবে, শেষে সপ্রতাপে আমাকে গ্রহণ করিবে।
24You will guide me with your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
25স্বর্গে আমার কে আছে? পৃথিবীতেও তোমা ভিন্ন আর কিছুতে আমার প্রীতি নাই।
25Who do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth who I desire besides you.
26আমার মাংস ও আমার চিত্ত ক্ষয় পাইতেছে, তথাপি ঈশ্বর চিরকাল আমার চিত্তের শৈল ও আমার দায়াংশ।
26My flesh and my heart fails, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27কেননা দেখ, যাহারা তোমা হইতে দূরে থাকে, তাহারা বিনষ্ট হইবে; যে সকল লোক তোমা হইতে অপসরণ করিয়া ব্যভিচার করে, সেই সকলকে তুমি উচ্ছিন্ন করিয়াছ।
27For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
28কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের নিকটে থাকা আমারই পক্ষে মঙ্গল; আমি প্রভু সদাপ্রভুর শরণ লইলাম, যেন তোমার সমস্ত ক্রিয়া বর্ণনা করিতে পারি।
28But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, That I may tell of all your works.
