1সদাপ্রভু কহেন, তৎকালে লোকেরা যিহূদার রাজগণের অস্থি, তাহার অধ্যক্ষবর্গের অস্থি, যাজকগণের অস্থি, ভাববাদিগণের অস্থি ও যিরূশালেমনিবাসী লোকদের অস্থি তাহাদের কবর হইতে বাহির করিবে।
1At that time, says Yahweh, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;
2আর তাহারা সূর্য্যের, চন্দ্রের ও সমস্ত আকাশবাহিনীর সম্মুখে —তাহারা যাহাদিগকে ভক্তি ও সেবা করিত, যাহাদের অনুগামী হইত, যাহাদিগকে অন্বেষণ করিত, ও যাহাদের কাছে প্রণিপাত করিত, আহাদের সম্মুখে—সে সকল অস্থি ছড়াইয়া দিবে। সেগুলি আর একত্রীকৃত কিম্বা কবরে স্থাপিত হইবে না; সারের ন্যায় ভূমির উপরে থাকিবে।
2and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of the sky, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried, they shall be for dung on the surface of the earth.
3আর এই দুষ্ট গোষ্ঠীর অবশিষ্ট যে সমস্ত লোক থাকিবে,—যে সকল স্থানে আমি তাহাদিগকে তাড়াইয়া দিয়াছি, সেই সমস্ত স্থানে থাকিবে,—তাহারা জীবন অপেক্ষা মরণই বাঞ্ছনীয় জ্ঞান করিব, ইহা বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু কহেন।
3Death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places where I have driven them, says Yahweh of Hosts.
4তুমি তাহাদিগকে আরও বলিবে, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, মনুষ্য পতিত হইলে কি আর উঠে না? বিপথে গেলে কি আর ফিরিয়া আইসে না?
4Moreover you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: Shall men fall, and not rise up again? Shall one turn away, and not return?
5তবে যিরূশালেমের এই জাতি কেন নিত্যস্থায়ী বিপথগমন দ্বারা বিপথগামী হইয়াছে? তাহারা খলতাকে দৃঢ়রূপে ধরিয়া রহিয়াছে, তাহারা ফিরিয়া আসিতে অসম্মত।
5Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
6আমি কর্ণপাত করিয়া শুনিলাম, কিন্তু তাহারা যথার্থ কথা কহিল না; কেহ আপন দুষ্টতার জন্য অনুতাপ করিয়া বলে না, ‘হায়, আমি কি করিলাম!’ অশ্ব যেমন ঊর্দ্ধশ্বাসে যুদ্ধে দৌড়িয়া যায়, তেমনি প্রত্যেক জন, আপন আপন ধাবন পথে ফিরে।
6I listened and heard, but they didn't speak aright: no man repents him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.
7আকাশে হাড়গিলাও আপনার সময় জানে, এবং ঘুঘু, তালচোঁচ ও বক আপন আপন আগমনের কাল রক্ষা করে, কিন্তু আমার প্রজারা সদাপ্রভুর বিধান জানে না।
7Yes, the stork in the sky knows her appointed times; and the turtle-dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people don't know Yaweh's law.
8তোমরা কেমন করিয়া বলিতে পার, আমরা জ্ঞানী, এবং আমাদের কাছে সদাপ্রভুর ব্যবস্থা আছে? দেখ, অধ্যাপকদের মিথ্যা-লেখনী তাহা মিথ্যা করিয়া ফেলিয়াছে।
8How do you say, We are wise, and the law of Yahweh is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.
9জ্ঞানীরা লজ্জিত হইল, ব্যাকুল ও ধৃত হইল; দেখ, তাহারা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য অগ্রাহ্য করিয়াছে, তবে তাহাদের জ্ঞান কি প্রকার?
9The wise men are disappointed, they are dismayed and taken: behold, they have rejected the word of Yahweh; and what manner of wisdom is in them?
10এই জন্য আমি অন্য লোকদিগকে তাহাদের স্ত্রী, এবং অন্য অধিকারীদিগকে তাহাদের ক্ষেত্র দিব; কেননা ক্ষুদ্র কি মহান সকলেই লোভে লুব্ধ, ভাববাদী ও যাজকশুদ্ধ সমস্ত লোক প্রবঞ্চনায় রত।
10Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall possess them: for everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.
11আর তাহারা আমার জাতির কন্যার ক্ষত কেবল একটুমাত্র সুস্থ করিয়াছে; যখন শান্তি নাই, তখন বলিয়াছে, শান্তি, শান্তি।
11They have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
12তাহারা ঘৃণাই কার্য্য করিয়াছে বলিয়া কি লজ্জিত হইল? তাহারা মোটে লজ্জিত হয় নাই, তাহারা বিষণ্ণ হইতে জানেও না। এই জন্য তাহারা পতিতগণের মধ্যে পতিত হইবে; আমি যখন তাহাদের প্রতিফল দিব, তখন তাহাদের নিপাত হইবে, ইহা সদাপ্রভু কহেন।
12Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among those who fall; in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, says Yahweh.
13আমি তাহাদিগকে নিঃশেষে সংহার করিব, ইহা সদাপ্রভু কহেন; দ্রাক্ষালতায় দ্রাক্ষাফল, কিম্বা ডুমুরগাছে ডুমুরফল থাকিবে না, পত্রও জীর্ণ হইবে; হাঁ, আমি তাহাদের জন্য আক্রমণকারী লোকদিগকে নিরূপণ করিয়াছি।
13I will utterly consume them, says Yahweh: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
14আমরা কেন বসিয়া থাকি? আইস আমরা একত্র হইয়া প্রাচীরবেষ্টিত নগরে নগরে প্রবেশ করি, সেখানে ক্ষয়প্রাপ্ত হই; কেননা আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু আমাদিগকে ক্ষয়ের পাত্র করিলেন, ও বিষবৃক্ষের রস পান করাইলেন, কারণ আমরা সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করিয়াছি।
14Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.
15আমরা শান্তির অপেক্ষা করিলাম, কিন্তু কিছুই মঙ্গল হইল না; আরোগ্যকালের অপেক্ষা করিলাম, কিন্তু দেখ, উদ্বেগ উপস্থিত।
15We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and, behold, dismay!
16দান নগর হইতে শত্রুর অশ্বগণের নাসারব শুনা যাইতেছে; তাহার বাজীদের হেষ্রাশব্দে সমস্ত দেশ কাঁপিতেছে; তাহারা আসিয়াছে, জনপদ ও তন্মধ্যস্থ সমস্ত দ্রব্য এবং নগর ও তন্নিবাসিবর্গকে গ্রাস করিয়াছে।
16The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones the whole land trembles; for they are come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it; the city and those who dwell therein.
17বস্তুতঃ দেখ, আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে সর্প, কালসর্প প্রেরণ করিব, তাহারা কোন মন্ত্র মানিবে না, তোমাদিগকে দংশন করিবে, ইহা সদাপ্রভু কহেন।
17For, behold, I will send serpents, adders, among you, which will not be charmed; and they shall bite you, says Yahweh.
18আহা, আমি যদি দুঃখে সাত্ত্বনা পাইতাম! আমার মধ্যে হৃদয় মূর্চ্ছিত।
18Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! my heart is faint within me.
19দেখ, দূর দেশ হইতে আমার জাতির কন্যার আর্ত্তনাদ শুনা যাইতেছে; সদাপ্রভু কি সিয়োনে নাই? তাহার রাজা কি তাহার মধ্যবর্ত্তী নহেন? তাহারা আপনাদের ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমা ও বিজাতীয় অসার বস্তুসমূহ দ্বারা আমাকে কেন অসন্তুষ্ট করিয়াছে?
19Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: isn't Yahweh in Zion? Isn't her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign vanities?
20শস্য কাটিবার সময় গেল, ফলচয়নের কাল শেষ হইল, কিন্তু আমাদের পরিত্রাণ হয় নাই।
20The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
21আমি আমার জাতির কন্যার ভগ্নতা প্রযুক্ত ভগ্ন হইয়াছি, আমি মলিন ও চকিত হইয়াছি।
21For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt: I mourn; dismay has taken hold on me.
22গিলিয়দে কি তরুসার নাই? সেখানে কি চিকিৎসক নাই? তবে আমার জাতির কন্যা কেন স্বাস্থ্য লাভ করে নাই?
22Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? why then isn't the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
