1তখন দারিয়াবস রাজা আজ্ঞা করিলে বাবিলস্থ ধনাগারের পুস্তকালয়ে অনুসন্ধান করা গেল।
1Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
2পরে মাদীয় প্রদেশের অক্‌মথা নামক রাজপুরীতে একখানা খাতা পাওয়া গেল; তন্মধ্যে স্মরণার্থে এই কথা লিখিত ছিল,
2There was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a scroll, and therein was thus written for a record:
3“কোরস রাজার প্রথম বৎসরে কোরস রাজা যিরূশালেমস্থ ঈশ্বরের গৃহের বিষয়ে এই আজ্ঞা করিলেন, সেই গৃহ যজ্ঞ-স্থান বলিয়া নির্ম্মিত হউক; ও তাহার ভিত্তিমূল দৃঢ়রূপে স্থাপিত হউক; তাহার উচ্চতা ষাট হস্ত ও প্রস্থ ষাট হস্ত হইবে।
3In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let the foundations of it be strongly laid; the height of it sixty cubits, and the breadth of it sixty cubits;
4তাহা তিন তিন সারি প্রকাণ্ড প্রস্তরে ও এক এক সারি নূতন কড়িকাষ্ঠে গাঁথান হউক, এবং রাজবাটী হইতে তাহার ব্যয় প্রদত্ত হউক।
4with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house.
5আর ঈশ্বরের গৃহের যে সকল স্বর্ণময় ও রৌপ্যময় পাত্র নবূখদ্‌নিৎসর যিরূশালেমস্থ মন্দির হইতে লইয়া বাবিলে রাখিয়াছিলেন, সে সকলও ফিরিয়া দেওয়া যাউক, এবং প্রত্যেক পাত্র যিরূশালেমস্থ মন্দিরে স্ব স্ব স্থানে নীত হউক, তাহা ঈশ্বরের গৃহে রাখিতে হইবে।
5Also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, everyone to its place; and you shall put them in the house of God.
6অতএব হে নদী-পারস্থ দেশাধ্যক্ষ তত্তনয়, শথর-বোষণয় ও নদী-পারস্থ তোমাদের সঙ্গী অফর্সখীয়েরা, তোমরা এখন তথা হইতে দূরে থাক।
6Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, be you far from there:
7ঈশ্বরের সেই গৃহের কার্য্য চলিতে দেও; যিহূদীদের অধ্যক্ষ ও যিহূদীদের প্রাচীনবর্গ ঈশ্বরের সেই গৃহ স্বস্থানে নির্ম্মাণ করুক।
7let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.
8আর ঈশ্বরের সেই গৃহের গাঁথনির জন্য তোমরা যিহূদীদের প্রাচীনবর্গের কিরূপ সাহায্য করিবে, আমি তদ্বিষয়ে আজ্ঞা দিতেছি; তাহাদের যেন বাধা না হয়, এই জন্য রাজার ধন, অর্থাৎ নদীর পারের রাজকর হইতে যত্নপূর্ব্বক সেই লোকদিগকে ব্যয়ানুযায়ী অর্থ দত্ত হউক।
8Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence to these men, that they be not hindered.
9আর তাহাদের প্রয়োজনীয় দ্রব্য সকল অর্থাৎ স্বর্গের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে হোমার্থে যুবা বৃষ, মেষ ও মেষশাবক, এবং গোম, লবণ, দ্রাক্ষারস ও তৈল যিরূশালেমস্থ যাজকদের নিরূপণানুসারে অবাধে দিন দিন তাহাদিগকে দত্ত হউক,
9That which they have need of, both young bulls, and rams, and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven; also wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;
10যেন তাহারা স্বর্গের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে সৌরভার্থক উপহার উৎসর্গ করে, এবং রাজার ও তাঁহার পুত্রদের জীবন প্রার্থনা করে।
10that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savor to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
11আরও আমি আজ্ঞা করিলাম, যে কেহ এই কথার অন্যথা করিবে, তাহার গৃহ হইতে একটী কড়িকাষ্ঠ বাহির করিয়া সেই কাষ্ঠে তাহাকে তুলিয়া টাঙ্গাইতে হইবে, এবং সেই দোষ প্রযুক্ত তাহার গৃহ সারের ঢিবি করা যাউক।
11Also I have made a decree, that whoever shall alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this:
12আর যে কোন রাজা কিম্বা প্রজা [আজ্ঞার] অন্যথা করিয়া সেই যিরূশালেমস্থ ঈশ্বরের গৃহের বিনাশ সাধনে হস্তক্ষেপ করিবে, ঈশ্বর যিনি সেই স্থানে আপন নাম স্থাপন করিয়াছেন, তিনি তাহাকে নিপাত করিবেন। আমি দারিয়াবস আজ্ঞা করিলাম ইহা সযত্নে সম্পন্ন হউক।”
12and the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who shall put forth their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence.
13তখন নদী-পারস্থ দেশাধ্যক্ষ তত্তনয়, শথর-বোষণয় ও তাঁহাদের সঙ্গিগণ যত্নপূর্ব্বক দারিয়াবস রাজার প্রেরিত আজ্ঞাহেতু তদনুযায়ী কর্ম্ম করিলেন।
13Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and their companions, because that Darius the king had sent, did accordingly with all diligence.
14আর যিহূদীদের প্রাচীনবর্গ গাঁথনি করিয়া হগয় ভাববাদীর ও ইদ্দোর পুত্র সখরিয়ের ভাববাণী সহকারে কৃতকার্য্য হইলেন, এবং তাঁহারা ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের আজ্ঞানুসারে ও পারস্য-রাজ কোরসের, দারিয়াবসের ও অর্তক্ষস্তের আদেশানুসারে গাঁথনি করিয়া কার্য্য সমাপ্ত করিলেন।
14The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
15দারিয়াবস রাজার রাজত্বের ষষ্ঠ বৎসরে অদর মাসের তৃতীয় দিনে গৃহ সমাপ্ত হইল।
15This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
16পরে ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানগণ, যাজকেরা লেবীয়েরা ও বন্দিদশা হইতে আগত লোকদের অবশিষ্ট লোকেরা আনন্দে ঈশ্বরের সেই গৃহের প্রতিষ্ঠা করিল।
16The children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
17আর ঈশ্বরের সেই গৃহের প্রতিষ্ঠার সময়ে এক শত বৃষ, দুই শত মেষ, চারি শত মেষশাবক, এবং সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের জন্য পাপার্থক বলিরূপে ইস্রায়েলের বংশ-সংখ্যানুসারে বারোটী ছাগ উৎসর্গ করিল।
17They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
18আর যিরূশালেমে ঈশ্বরের সেবাকর্ম্মের জন্য যাজকদিগকে তাহাদের বিভাগানুসারে ও লেবীয়দিগকে তাহাদের পালানুসারে নিযুক্ত করা হইল; যেমন মোশির পুস্তকে লিখিত আছে।
18They set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.
19পরে প্রথম মাসের চতুর্দ্দশ দিনে বন্দিদশা হইতে আগত লোকেরা নিস্তারপর্ব্ব পালন করিল।
19The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
20কেননা যাজকেরা ও লেবীয়েরা আপনাদিগকে একসঙ্গে শুচি করিয়াছিল; তাহারা সকলেই শুচি হইয়াছিল, এবং বন্দিদশা হইতে আগত সমস্ত লোকের নিমিত্ত, তাহাদের যাজক ভ্রাতাদের ও আপনাদের নিমিত্ত নিস্তারপর্ব্বের বলি সকল হনন করিল।
20For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure: and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.
21আর বন্দিদশা হইতে আগত ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানগণ, এবং যত লোক ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর অন্বেষণার্থে তাহাদের পক্ষ হইয়া দেশ-নিবাসী জাতিগণের অশুচিতা হইতে আপনাদিগকে পৃথক্‌ করিয়াছিল, সেই সকলে তাহা ভোজন করিল,
21The children of Israel who had come again out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate,
22এবং সাত দিন পর্য্যন্ত আনন্দে তাড়ীশূন্য রুটীর উৎসব পালন করিল, যেহেতু সদাপ্রভু তাহাদিগকে আনন্দিত করিয়াছিলেন, আর ঈশ্বরের, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের, গৃহের কার্য্যে তাহাদের হস্ত দৃঢ় করিবার জন্য অশূররাজের চিত্ত তাহাদের পক্ষে ফিরাইয়াছিলেন।
22and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
