1
তিনি আমাকে বলিলেন, হে মনুষ্য-সন্তান তুমি পায়ে ভর দিয়া দাঁড়াও; আমি তোমার সহিত আলাপ করিব।

He said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.
2
যে সময়ে তিনি আমার সহিত কথা কহিলেন, তখন আত্মা আমাতে প্রবেশ করিয়া আমাকে পায়ে ভর দেওয়াইয়া দাঁড় করাইলেন; তাহাতে যিনি আমার সহিত কথা কহিলেন, তাঁহার বাক্য আমি শুনিলাম।

The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me.

তিনি আমাকে বলিলেন, হে মনুষ্য-সন্তান, আমি ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের কাছে, বিদ্রোহী জাতিগণের কাছে তোমাকে প্রেরণ করিতেছি; তাহারা আমার বিদ্রোহী হইয়াছে, তাহারা ও তাহাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে অধর্ম্মাচরণ করিয়া আসিতেছে, অদ্যকার দিন পর্য্যন্তও করিতেছে।

He said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to nations that are rebellious, which have rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

সেই সন্তানগণ দৃঢ়মুখ ও কঠিনচিত্ত, আমি তাহাদের নিকটে তোমাকে প্রেরণ করিতেছি; তুমি তাহাদিগকে বলিও, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন।

The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I do sent you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh.

আর তাহারা শুনুক বা না শুনুক—তাহারা ত বিদ্রোহীকুল—তথাপি জানিতে পাইবে, তাহাদের মধ্যে এক জন ভাববাদী উপস্থিত হইল।

They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

হে মনুষ্য-সন্তান, তুমি তাহাদের হইতে ভীত হইও না, তাহাদের বাক্য হইতেও ভীত হইও না; শ্যাকুল ও কন্টক তোমার নিকটে আছে বটে, এবং তুমি বৃশ্চিকের মধ্যে বাস করিতেছ, তথাপি তাহাদের বাক্যে ভয় করিও না, ও তাহাদের মুখ দেখিয়া উদ্বিগ্ন হইও না, তাহারা ত বিদ্রোহীকুল।

You, son of man, don't be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don't be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

তুমি তাহাদের কাছে আমার বাক্য সকল বলিও, তাহারা শুনুক বা না শুনুক; তাহারা ত অত্যন্ত বিদ্রোহী।

You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.
8
হে মনুষ্য-সন্তান, আমি তোমাকে যাহা বলি, তুমি শুন; তুমি সেই বিদ্রোহীকুলের ন্যায় বিদ্রোহী হইও না; তোমার মুখ খুল, আমি তোমাকে যাহা দিই, তাহা ভোজন কর।

But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don't be you rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.

পরে আমি দৃষ্টিপাত করিলাম, আর দেখ, একখানি হস্ত আমার প্রতি প্রসারিত হইল, আর দেখ, তাহার মধ্যে একখানি জড়ান পুস্তক ছিল।

When I looked, behold, a hand was put forth to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein;
10
তিনি আমার সম্মুখে তাহা বিস্তার করিলেন, সেই পুস্তকখানির ভিতরে বাহিরে লেখা, আর বিলাপ, খেদোক্তি ও সন্তাপের কথা তাহাতে লেখা ছিল।

He spread it before me: and it was written within and without; and there were written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
