1মোশি আপন শ্বশুর যিথ্রো নামক মিদিয়নীয় যাজকের মেষপাল চরাইতেন। একদা তিনি প্রান্তরের পশ্চাদ্ভাগে মেষপাল লইয়া গিয়া হোরেবে, ঈশ্বরের পর্ব্বতে উপস্থিত হইলেন।
1Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God's mountain, to Horeb.
2আর ঝোপের মধ্য হইতে অগ্নিশিখাতে সদাপ্রভুর দূত তাঁহাকে দর্শন দিলেন; তখন তিনি দৃষ্টিপাত করিলেন, আর দেখ, ঝোপ অগ্নিতে জ্বলিতেছে, তথাপি ঝোপ বিনষ্ট হইতেছে না।
2The angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3তাই মোশি কহিলেন আমি এক পার্শ্বে গিয়া এই মহাশ্চর্য্য দৃশ্য দেখি, ঝোপ দগ্ধ হয় না, ইহার কারণ কি?
3Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু যখন দেখিলেন যে, তিনি দেখিবার জন্য এক পার্শ্বে যাইতেছেন, তখন ঝোপের মধ্য হইতে ঈশ্বর তাঁহাকে ডাকিয়া কহিলেন, মোশি, মোশি। তিনি কহিলেন, দেখুন, এই আমি।
4When Yahweh saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said, "Moses! Moses!" He said, "Here I am."
5তখন তিনি কহিলেন, এ স্থানের নিকটবর্ত্তী হইও না, তোমার পদ হইতে জুতা খুলিয়া ফেল; কেননা যে স্থানে তুমি দাঁড়াইয়া আছ, উহা পবিত্র ভূমি।
5He said, "Don't come close. Take off your sandals from off your feet, for the place you are standing on is holy ground."
6তিনি আরও কহিলেন, আমি তোমার পিতার ঈশ্বর, অব্রাহামের ঈশ্বর, ইস্‌হাকের ঈশ্বর ও যাকোবের ঈশ্বর। তখন মোশি আপন মুখ আচ্ছাদন করিলেন, কেননা তিনি ঈশ্বরের প্রতি দৃষ্টি করিতে ভীত হইয়াছিলেন।
6Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.
7পরে সদাপ্রভু কহিলেন, সত্যই আমি মিসরস্থ আপন প্রজাদের কষ্ট দেখিয়াছি, এবং কার্য্যশাসকদের সমক্ষে তাহাদের ক্রন্দনও শুনিয়াছি; ফলতঃ আমি তাহাদের দুঃখ জানি।
7Yahweh said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
8আর মিস্রীয়দের হস্ত হইতে তাহাদিগকে উদ্ধার করিবার জন্য, এবং সেই দেশ হইতে উঠাইয়া লইয়া উত্তম ও প্রশস্ত এক দেশে, অর্থাৎ কনানীয়, হিত্তীয়, ইমোরীয়, পরিষীয়, হিব্বীয় ও যিবূষীয় লোকেরা যে স্থানে থাকে, সেই দুগ্ধমধুপ্রবাহী দেশে তাহাদিগকে আনিবার জন্য নামিয়া আসিয়াছি।
8I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
9এখন দেখ, ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানগণের ক্রন্দন আমার নিকটে উপস্থিত হইয়াছে, এবং মিস্রীয়েরা তাহাদের প্রতি যে দৌরাত্ম্য করে, তাহা আমি দেখিয়াছি।
9Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
10অতএব এখন আইস, আমি তোমাকে ফরৌণের নিকটে প্রেরণ করি, তুমি মিসর হইতে আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদিগকে বাহির করিও।
10Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."
11মোশি ঈশ্বরকে কহিলেন, আমি কে, যে ফরৌণের নিকটে যাই, ও মিসর হইতে ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদিগকে বাহির করি?
11Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?"
12তিনি কহিলেন, নিশ্চয় আমি তোমার সহবর্ত্তী হইব; এবং আমি যে তোমাকে প্রেরণ করিলাম, তোমার পক্ষে তাহার এই চিহ্ন হইবে; তুমি মিসর হইতে লোকসমূহকে বাহির করিয়া আনিলে পর তোমরা এই পর্ব্বতে ঈশ্বরের সেবা করিবে।
12He said, "Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain."
13পরে মোশি ঈশ্বরকে কহিলেন, দেখ, আমি যখন ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের নিকটে গিয়া বলিব, তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর তোমাদের নিকটে আমাকে প্রেরণ করিয়াছেন, তখন যদি তাহারা জিজ্ঞাসা করে, তাঁহার নাম কি? তবে তাহাদিগকে কি বলিব?
13Moses said to God, "Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you;' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' What should I tell them?"
14ঈশ্বর মোশিকে কহিলেন, “আমি যে আছি সেই আছি”; আরও কহিলেন, ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদিগকে এইরূপ বলিও, “আছি” তোমাদের নিকটে আমাকে প্রেরণ করিয়াছেন।
14God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM," and he said, "You shall tell the children of Israel this: "I AM has sent me to you."
15ঈশ্বর মোশিকে আরও কহিলেন, তুমি ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদিগকে এই কথা বলিও, যিহোবা [সদাপ্রভু], তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর, অব্রাহামের ঈশ্বর, ইস্‌হাকের ঈশ্বর ও যাকোবের ঈশ্বর তোমাদের নিকটে আমাকে পাঠাইয়াছেন; আমার এই নাম অনন্তকালস্থায়ী, এবং এতদ্দ্বারা আমি পুরুষে পুরুষে স্মরণীয়।
15God said moreover to Moses, "You shall tell the children of Israel this, 'Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
16তুমি যাও, ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনগণকে একত্র কর, তাহাদিগকে এই কথা বল, সদাপ্রভু, তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর, অব্রাহামের, ইস্‌হাকের ও যাকোবের ঈশ্বর আমাকে দর্শন দিয়া কহিলেন, সত্যই আমি তোমাদিগের তত্ত্ব লইয়াছি, এবং মিসরে তোমাদের প্রতি যাহা করা হইতেছে, তাহা দেখিয়াছি।
16Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and tell them, 'Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, "I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt;
17আর আমি বলিয়াছি, আমি মিসরের কষ্ট হইতে তোমাদিগকে উদ্ধার করিয়া কনানীয়দের, হিত্তীয়দের, ইমোরীয়দের, পরিষীয়দের, হিব্বীয়দের, ও যিবূষীয়দের দেশে, দুগ্ধমধুপ্রবাহী দেশে, লইয়া যাইব।
17and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey."'
18তাহারা তোমার রবে মনোযোগ করিবে; তখন তুমি ও ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনবর্গ মিসরের রাজার নিকটে যাইবে, তাহাকে বলিবে, সদাপ্রভু, ইব্রীয়দের ঈশ্বর আমাদিগকে দেখা দিয়াছেন; অতএব বিনয় করি, আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে যজ্ঞ করণার্থে আমাদিগকে তিন দিনের পথ প্রান্তরে যাইবার অনুমতি দিউন।
18They will listen to your voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh, our God.'
19কিন্তু আমি জানি, মিসরের রাজা তোমাদিগকে যাইতে দিবে না, পরাক্রান্ত হস্ত দেখাইলেও দিবে না।
19I know that the king of Egypt won't give you permission to go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20পরন্তু আমি হস্ত বিস্তার করিব, এবং দেশের মধ্যে যে সমস্ত আশ্চর্য্য কার্য্য করিব, তদ্দ্বারা মিসরকে আঘাত করিব, তৎপরে সে তোমাদিগকে যাইতে দিবে।
20I will put forth my hand and strike Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst of it, and after that he will let you go.
21আর আমি মিস্রীয়দের দৃষ্টিতে এই লোকদিগকে অনুগ্রহের পাত্র করিব; তাহাতে তোমরা যাত্রাকালে রিক্ত হস্তে যাইবে না;
21I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and it will happen that when you go, you shall not go empty-handed.
22কিন্তু প্রত্যেক স্ত্রী আপন আপন প্রতিবাসিনী কিম্বা গৃহে প্রবাসিনী স্ত্রীর কাছে রৌপ্যালঙ্কার, স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও বস্ত্র চাহিবে; এবং তোমরা তাহা আপন আপন পুত্রদের ও কন্যাদের গাত্রে পরাইবে; এইরূপে তোমরা মিস্রীয়দের দ্রব্য হরণ করিবে।
22But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, and of her who visits her house, jewels of silver, jewels of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons, and on your daughters. You shall despoil the Egyptians.
