অতএব প্রিয় বৎসদের ন্যায় তোমরা ঈশ্বরের অনুকারী হও।

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

আর প্রেমে চল, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও তোমাদিগকে প্রেম করিলেন এবং আমাদের জন্য ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে, সৌরভের নিমিত্ত, উপহার ও বলিরূপে আপনাকে উৎসর্গ করিলেন।

Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.

কিন্তু বেশ্যাগমনের ও সর্ব্বপ্রকার অশুদ্ধতার বা লোভের নামও যেন তোমাদের মধ্যে না হয়, যেমন পবিত্রগণের উপযুক্ত।

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
4
আর কুৎসিত ব্যবহার এবং প্রলাপ কিম্বা শ্লেষোক্তি, এই সকল অনুচিত ব্যবহার যেন না হয়, বরং যেন ধন্যবাদ দেওয়া হয়।

nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.

কেননা তোমরা নিশ্চয় জানিতেছ, বেশ্যাগামী কি অশুদ্ধাচারী কি লোভী—সে ত প্রতিমাপূজক—কেহই খ্রীষ্টের ও ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে অধিকার পায় না।

Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.

অনর্থক বাক্য দ্বারা কেহ যেন তোমাদিগকে না ভুলায়; কেননা এই সকল দোষ প্রযুক্ত অবাধ্যতার সন্তানগণের উপরে ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ বর্ত্তে।

Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

অতএব তাহাদের সহভাগী হইও না;

Therefore don't be partakers with them.
8
কারণ তোমরা এক সময়ে অন্ধকার ছিলে, কিন্তু এখন প্রভুতে দীপ্তি হইয়াছ; দীপ্তির সন্তানদের ন্যায় চল
8
For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
9
—কেননা সর্ব্বপ্রকার মঙ্গলভাবে, ধার্ম্মিকতায় ও সত্যে দীপ্তির ফল হয়—

for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
10
প্রভুর প্রীতিজনক কি, তাহার পরীক্ষা কর।

proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord.
11
আর অন্ধকারের ফলহীন কর্ম্ম সকলের সহভাগী হইও না, বরং সেগুলির দোষ দেখাইয়া দেও।
11
Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
12
কেননা উহারা গোপনে যে সকল কর্ম্ম করে, তাহা উচ্চারণ করাও লজ্জার বিষয়।

For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
13
কিন্তু দোষ দেখাইয়া দেওয়া হইলে সকলই দীপ্তি দ্বারা প্রকাশ হইয়া পড়ে; বস্তুতঃ যাহা প্রকাশ হইয়া পড়ে, তাহা সকলই দীপ্তিময়।

But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that is revealed is light.
14
এই জন্য উক্ত আছে, “হে নিদ্রাগত ব্যক্তি, জাগ্রৎ হও, এবং মৃতগণের মধ্য হইতে উঠ, তাহাতে খ্রীষ্ট তোমার উপরে আলোক উদয় করিবেন।”

Therefore he says, "Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
15
অতএব তোমরা ভাল করিয়া দেখ, কিরূপে চলিতেছ; অজ্ঞানের ন্যায় না চলিয়া জ্ঞানবানের ন্যায় চল।

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
16
সুযোগ কিনিয়া লও, কেননা এই কাল মন্দ।

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17
এই কারণ নির্ব্বোধ হইও না, কিন্তু প্রভুর ইচ্ছা কি তাহা বুঝ।

Therefore don't be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18
আর দ্রাক্ষারসে মত্ত হইও না, তাহাতে নষ্টামি আছে; কিন্তু আত্মাতে পরিপূর্ণ হও;
18
Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
19
গীত, স্তোত্র ও আত্মিক সঙ্কীর্ত্তনে পরস্পর আলাপ কর; আপন আপন অন্তঃকরণে প্রভুর উদ্দেশে গান ও বাদ্য কর;
19
speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and singing praises in your heart to the Lord;
20
সর্ব্বদা সর্ব্ববিষয়ের নিমিত্ত আমাদের প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নামে পিতা ঈশ্বরের ধন্যবাদ কর;
20
giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
21
খ্রীষ্টের ভয়ে এক জন অন্য জনের বশীভূত হও।
21
subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
22
নারীগণ, তোমরা যেমন প্রভুর, তেমনি নিজ নিজ স্বামীর বশীভূতা হও।
22
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23
কেননা স্বামী স্ত্রীর মস্তক, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীর মস্তক; তিনি আবার দেহের ত্রাণকর্ত্তা;

For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
24
কিন্তু মণ্ডলী যেমন খ্রীষ্টের বশীভূত, তেমনি নারীগণ সর্ব্ববিষয়ে আপন আপন স্বামীর বশীভূতা হউক।

But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
25
স্বামীরা, তোমরা আপন আপন স্ত্রীকে সেইরূপ প্রেম কর, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীকে প্রেম করিলেন, আর তাহার নিমিত্ত আপনাকে প্রদান করিলেন;

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
26
যেন তিনি জলস্নান দ্বারা বাক্যে তাহাকে শুচি করিয়া পবিত্র করেন, যেন আপনি আপনার কাছে মণ্ডলীকে প্রতাপান্বিত অবস্থায় উপস্থিত করেন,

that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
27
যেন তাহার কলঙ্ক বা সঙ্কোচ বা এই প্রকার আর কোন কিছু না থাকে, বরং সে যেন পবিত্র ও অনিন্দনীয় হয়।
27
that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28
এইরূপে স্বামীরাও আপন আপন স্ত্রীকে আপন আপন দেহ বলিয়া প্রেম করিতে বাধ্য। আপন স্ত্রীকে যে প্রেম করে, সে আপনাকেই প্রেম করে।

Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
29
কেহ ত কখনও নিজ মাংসের প্রতি দ্বেষ করে নাই, বরং সকলে তাহার ভরণ পোষণ ও লালন পালন করে; যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীর প্রতি করিতেছেন;

For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;
30
কেননা আমরা তাঁহার দেহের অঙ্গ।
30
because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
31
“এই জন্য মনুষ্য আপন পিতা মাতাকে ত্যাগ করিয়া আপন স্ত্রীতে আসক্ত হইবে, এবং সেই দুই জন একাঙ্গ হইবে।”

"For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh."

এই নিগূঢ়তত্ত্ব মহৎ, কিন্তু আমি খ্রীষ্টের উদ্দেশে ও মণ্ডলীর উদ্দেশে ইহা কহিলাম।

This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.

তথাপি তোমরাও প্রত্যেকে আপন আপন স্ত্রীকে তদ্রূপ আপনার মত প্রেম কর; কিন্তু স্ত্রীর উচিত যেন সে স্বামীকে ভয় করে।

Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
