পরে রাজা যখন আপন গৃহে বাস করিতে লাগিলেন, এবং সদাপ্রভু চারিদিকের সমস্ত শত্রু হইতে তাঁহাকে বিশ্রাম দিলেন,

It happened, when the king lived in his house, and Yahweh had given him rest from all his enemies round about,
2
তখন রাজা নাথন ভাববাদীকে কহিলেন, দেখুন, আমি এরস কাষ্ঠের গৃহে বাস করিতেছি, কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের সিন্দুক যবনিকার মধ্যে বাস করিতেছে।

that the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.

নাথন রাজাকে কহিলেন, ভাল, যাহা কিছু আপনার মনে আছে, তাহাই করুন; কেননা সদাপ্রভু আপনার সহবর্ত্তী।

Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for Yahweh is with you.
4
কিন্তু সেই রাত্রিতে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য নাথনের নিকটে উপস্থিত হইল,

It happened the same night, that the word of Yahweh came to Nathan, saying,
5
তুমি যাও, আমার দাস দায়ূদকে বল, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, তুমি কি আমার বাসের জন্য গৃহ নির্ম্মাণ করিবে?

Go and tell my servant David, Thus says Yahweh, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?

ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানগণকে মিসর হইতে বাহির করিয়া আনিবার দিন হইতে অদ্য পর্য্যন্ত আমি ত কোন গৃহে বাস করি নাই, কেবল তাম্বুতে ও আবাসে থাকিয়া যাতায়াত করিতেছি।

for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tent.

সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানের মধ্যে যাতায়াত কালে আমি যাহাকে আপন প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে পালন করিবার ভার দিয়াছিলাম, ইস্রায়েলের এমন কোন বংশকে কি কখনও এই কথা বলিয়াছি যে, তোমরা কেন আমার জন্য এরস কাষ্ঠের গৃহ নির্ম্মাণ কর নাই?

In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?

অতএব এখন তুমি আমার দাস দায়ূদকে এই কথা বল, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা কহেন, আমার প্রজার উপরে, ইস্রায়েলের উপরে নায়ক করিবার জন্য আমিই তোমাকে মেষবাথান হইতে ও মেষের পশ্চাৎ হইতে গ্রহণ করিয়াছি।

Now therefore thus shall you tell my servant David, Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people, over Israel;
9
আর তুমি যে কোন স্থানে গমন করিয়াছ, সেই স্থানে তোমার সহবর্ত্তী থাকিয়া তোমার সম্মুখ হইতে তোমার সমস্ত শত্রুকে উচ্ছেদ করিয়াছি। আর আমি পৃথিবীস্থ মহাপুরুষদের নামের মত তোমার নাম মহৎ করিব।

and I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.
10
আর আমি আপন প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের জন্য একটী স্থান নিরূপণ করিব ও তাহাদিগকে রোপণ করিব; যেন আপনাদের সেই স্থানে তাহারা বাস করে, এবং আর বিচলিত না হয়। দুষ্ট লোকেরা তাহাদিগকে আর দুঃখ দিবে না, যেমন পূর্ব্বে দিত,

I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first,
11
এবং যে অবধি আমি আপন প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের উপরে বিচারকর্ত্তৃগণকে নিযুক্ত করিয়াছিলাম, সেই অবধি যেমন দিত। আর আমি যাবতীয় শত্রু হইতে তোমাকে বিশ্রাম করাইব। আরও সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে বলিতেছেন যে, তোমার জন্য সদাপ্রভু এক কুল নির্ম্মাণ করিবেন।

and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Yahweh tells you that Yahweh will make you a house.
12
তোমার দিন সম্পূর্ণ হইলে যখন তুমি আপন পিতৃলোকদের সহিত নিদ্রাগত হইবে, তখন আমি তোমার পরে তোমার বংশকে, যে তোমার ঔরসে জন্মিবে তাহাকে স্থাপন করিব, এবং তাহার রাজ্য সুস্থির করিব।

When your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13
আমার নামের নিমিত্ত সে এক গৃহ নির্ম্মাণ করিবে, এবং আমি তাহার রাজসিংহাসন চিরস্থায়ী করিব।

He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
14
আমি তাহার পিতা হইব, ও সে আমার পুত্র হইবে; সে অপরাধ করিলে আমি মনুষ্যগণের দণ্ড ও মনুষ্য-সন্তানদের প্রহার দ্বারা তাহাকে শাস্তি দিব।

I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;
15
কিন্তু আমি তোমার সম্মুখ হইতে যাহাকে দূর করিলাম, সেই শৌল হইতে আমি যেমন আপন দয়া অপসারণ করিলাম, তেমনি আমার দয়া তাহা হইতে দূরে যাইবে না।

but my loving kindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.
16
আর তোমার কুল ও তোমার রাজত্ব তোমার সম্মুখে চিরকাল স্থির থাকিবে; তোমার সিংহাসন চিরস্থায়ী হইবে।
16
Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure for ever before you: your throne shall be established forever.
17
নাথন দায়ূদকে এই সমস্ত বাক্য অনুসারে ও এই সমস্ত দর্শন অনুসারে কথা কহিলেন।

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
18
তখন দায়ূদ রাজা ভিতরে গিয়া সদাপ্রভুর সম্মুখে বসিলেন, আর কহিলেন, হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, আমি কে, আমার কুলই বা কি যে, তুমি আমাকে এ পর্য্যন্ত আনিয়াছ?

Then David the king went in, and sat before Yahweh; and he said, Who am I, Lord Yahweh, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19
আর হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, তোমার দৃষ্টিতে ইহাও ক্ষুদ্র বিষয় হইল; তুমি আপন দাসের কুলের বিষয়েও সুদীর্ঘ কালের উদ্দেশে কথা কহিলে; হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, এ কি মনুষ্যের নিয়ম?
19
This was yet a small thing in your eyes, Lord Yahweh; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come; and this too after the manner of men, Lord Yahweh!
20
আর দায়ূদ তোমাকে আর কি বলিবে? হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, তুমি ত আপন দাসকে জ্ঞাত আছ।
20
What can David say more to you? for you know your servant, Lord Yahweh.
21
তুমি আপন বাক্যের অনুরোধে ও নিজ হৃদয়ানুসারে এই সমস্ত মহৎকার্য্য সাধন করিয়া আপন দাসকে জ্ঞাত করিয়াছ।

For your word's sake, and according to your own heart, have you worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it.
22
অতএব, হে সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বর, তুমি মহান্; কারণ তোমার তুল্য কেহই নাই, ও তুমি ব্যতীত কোন ঈশ্বর নাই; আমরা স্বকর্ণে যাহা যাহা শুনিয়াছি, তদনুসারে ইহা জানি।

Therefore you are great, Yahweh God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23
পৃথিবীর মধ্যে কোন্ একটী জাতি তোমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের তুল্য? ঈশ্বর তাহাকে আপন প্রজা করিবার জন্য এবং আপন নাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত করিবার জন্য মুক্ত করিতে গিয়াছিলেন, তুমি আমাদের পক্ষে মহৎ মহৎ কার্য্য ও তোমার দেশের পক্ষে ভয়ঙ্কর ভয়ঙ্কর কার্য্য তোমার প্রজাদের সম্মুখে সাধন করিয়াছিলে, তাহাদিগকে তুমি মিসর, জাতিগণ ও দেবগণ হইতে মুক্ত করিয়াছিলে।

What one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, and to make him a name, and to do great things for you, and awesome things for your land, before your people, whom you redeem to you out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
24
তুমি আপনার জন্য আপন প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে স্থাপন করিয়া চিরকালের জন্য আপনার প্রজা করিয়াছ; আর হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি তাহাদের ঈশ্বর হইয়াছে।

You did establish to yourself your people Israel to be a people to you forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God.
25
এখন হে সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বর, তুমি আপন দাসের ও তাহার কুলের বিষয়ে যে বাক্য বলিয়াছ, তাহা চিরকালের জন্য স্থির কর; যেমন বলিয়াছ, তদনুসারে কর।

Now, Yahweh God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, confirm you it forever, and do as you have spoken.
26
তোমার নাম চিরকাল মহিমান্বিত হউক; লোকে বলুক, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভুই ইস্রায়েলের উপরে ঈশ্বর; আর তোমার দাস দায়ূদের কুল তোমার সাক্ষাতে সুস্থির হইবে।

Let your name be magnified forever, saying, Yahweh of hosts is God over Israel; and the house of your servant David shall be established before you.
27
হে বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, তুমিই আপন দাসের কাছে প্রকাশ করিয়াছ, বলিয়াছ, ‘আমি তোমার জন্য এক কুল নির্ম্মাণ করিব,’ এই কারণ তোমার কাছে এই প্রার্থনা করিতে তোমার দাসের মনে সাহস জন্মিল।

For you, Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, I will build you a house: therefore has your servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.
28
আর এখন, হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, তুমিই ঈশ্বর, তোমারই বাক্য সত্য, আর তুমি আপন দাসের কাছে এই মঙ্গল প্রতিজ্ঞা করিয়াছ।

Now, O Lord Yahweh, you are God, and your words are truth, and you have promised this good thing to your servant:
29
অতএব অনুগ্রহ করিয়া আপন দাসের কুলকে আশীর্ব্বাদ কর; তাহা যেন তোমার সম্মুখে চিরকাল থাকে; কেননা হে প্রভু সদাপ্রভু, তুমি আপনি ইহা বলিয়াছ; আর তোমার আশীর্ব্বাদে তোমার এই দাসের কুল চিরকাল আশীঃপ্রাপ্ত থাকুক।

now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Lord Yahweh, have spoken it: and with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed forever.
