আর তাহার সহোদর অবশালোম তাহাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করিল, তোমার ভ্রাতা অম্নোন কি তোমার সহিত সংসর্গ করিয়াছে? কিন্তু এখন হে আমার ভগিনি, চুপ থাক, সে তোমার ভ্রাতা; তুমি এ বিষয়ে বিমনা হইও না। তদবধি তামর বিষণ্ণ ভাবে আপন সহোদর অবশালোমের গৃহে থাকিল।

Absalom her brother said to her, Has Amnon your brother been with you? but now hold your peace, my sister: he is your brother; don't take this thing to heart. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.
