কেননা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা সত্যলঙ্ঘন করিয়াছেন ও আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে যাহা মন্দ তাহাই করিয়াছেন, আর তাঁহাকে ত্যাগ করিয়াছেন ও সদাপ্রভুর আবাস হইতে পরাঙ্মুখ হইয়া তাঁহার দিকে পৃষ্ঠদেশ ফিরাইয়াছেন।

For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of Yahweh, and turned their backs.
