যে সময়ে দায়ূদ কীশের পুত্র শৌলের ভয়ে অবরুদ্ধ থাকিতেন, তৎকালে এই সকল লোক সিক্লগে দায়ূদের নিকটে আসিয়াছিলেন; তাঁহারা যুদ্ধে তাঁহার সহকারী বীরগণের মধ্যে ছিলেন।

Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

তাঁহারা ধনুর্দ্ধর এবং দক্ষিণ ও বাম উভয় হস্ত দ্বারা ফিঙ্গার প্রস্তর ও ধনুর্ব্বাণ ক্ষেপণে নিপুণ ছিলেন; তাঁহারা শৌলের জ্ঞাতি বিন্যামীনীয় লোক ছিলেন।

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow: they were of Saul's brothers of Benjamin.

অহীয়েষর প্রধান, পরে যোয়াশ, ইহাঁরা গিবিয়াতীয় শমায়ের পুত্র; আর অস্মাবতের পুত্র যিষীয়েল ও পেলট; এবং বরাখা ও অনাথোতীয় যেহূ;

The chief was Ahiezer; then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite,

এবং গিবিয়োনীয় যিশ্ময়িয়, ইনি ত্রিশ জনের মধ্যে এক জন বীর ও ত্রিশের উপরে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন; আর যিরমিয়, যহসীয়েল,

and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite,

যোহানন, গদেরাথীয় যোষাবদ, ইলিয়ূষয়, যিরীমোৎ, বালিয়, শমরিয়, আর হরূফীয় শফটিয়।

Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,

ইল্কানা, যিশিয়, অসরেল, যোয়েষর ও যাশবিয়াম, এই কোরহীয়গণ;

Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites,
7
আর গদোর-নিবাসী যিরোহমের পুত্র যোয়েলা ও সবদিয়।

and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

আর গাদীয়দের মধ্যে কতকগুলি বলবান বীর পৃথক্ হইয়া প্রান্তরস্থিত দুর্গম স্থানে দায়ূদের নিকটে আসিয়াছিলেন; তাঁহারা ঢাল ও বড়শাধারী, যুদ্ধে দীক্ষিত পুরুষ; সিংহ-মুখের ন্যায় তাঁহাদের মুখ ছিল, ও তাঁহারা পর্ব্বতস্থ হরিণের ন্যায় দ্রুতগামী ছিলেন।

Of the Gadites there separated themselves to David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes on the mountains;

প্রধান এষর, দ্বিতীয় ওবদিয়,

Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

তৃতীয় ইলীয়াব, চতুর্থ মিশ্মন্না,

Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

পঞ্চম যিরমিয়, ষষ্ঠ অত্তয়, সপ্তম ইলীয়েল,

Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

অষ্টম যোহানন, নবম ইল্সাবাদ,

Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13
দশম যিরমিয়, একাদশ মগ্বন্নয়।

Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.

গাদ-সন্তানদের এই লোকেরা সৈন্যদলের সেনাপতি ছিলেন; ইহাঁদের মধ্যে যিনি ক্ষুদ্র তিনি শত জনের, ও যিনি মহান্ তিনি সহস্র জনের সমকক্ষ ছিলেন।

These of the sons of Gad were captains of the host: he who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.

প্রথম মাসে যে সময়ে যর্দ্দনের জল সমস্ত তীরের উপরে উঠিয়াছিল, সেই সময়ে ইহাঁরা নদী পার হইয়া পূর্ব্বদিকে ও পশ্চিমদিকে তলভূমিস্থ সকলকে তাড়াইয়া দিয়াছিলেন।

These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

আর বিন্যামীনের ও যিহূদার সন্তানগণের মধ্যে কতকগুলি লোক দায়ূদের নিকটে দুর্গম স্থানে আসিয়াছিল।

There came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David.

আর দায়ূদ তাহাদের সহিত সাক্ষাৎ করিতে বাহির হইয়া তাহাদিগকে কহিলেন, যদি তোমরা আমার সাহায্য করিতে শান্তিভাবে আমার কাছে আসিয়া থাক, তবে আমার চিত্ত তোমাদের সঙ্গে এক হইয়া যাইবে। কিন্তু আমার হস্তে কোন দৌরাত্ম্য না থাকিলেও যদি আমাকে ঠকাইয়া বিপক্ষ লোকদের হস্তগত করিবার জন্য আসিয়া থাক, তবে আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর তাহা দেখুন ও অনুযোগ করুন।

David went out to meet them, and answered them, If you be come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you be come to betray me to my adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

তখন আত্মা সেনানীবর্গের অধ্যক্ষ অমাসয়ের উপরে আসিলেন, [আর তিনি কহিলেন], হে দায়ূদ, আমরা তোমরাই, হে যিশয়ের পুত্র, আমরা তোমারই পক্ষ; মঙ্গল হউক, তোমার মঙ্গল হউক, ও তোমার সাহায্যকারীদের মঙ্গল হউক, কেননা তোমার ঈশ্বর তোমার সাহায্য করেন। তখন দায়ূদ তাঁহাদিগকে গ্রহণ করিয়া সৈন্যদলের সেনাপতি করিলেন।

Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, "We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse: peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you." Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

আর দায়ূদ যখন শৌলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করণার্থে পলেষ্টীয়দের সহিত আসিয়াছিলেন, তখন মনঃশিরও কতকগুলি লোক তাঁহার পক্ষে হইল; কিন্তু তাঁহারা উহাদের সাহায্য করেন নাই; কেননা পলেষ্টীয়দের ভূপালেরা মন্ত্রণা করিয়া তাঁহাতে বিদায় করিলেন, কহিলেন, সেই ব্যক্তি আমাদের মুণ্ড লইয়া আপন প্রভু শৌলের পক্ষে সরিয়া যাইবে।

Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they didn't help them; for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

পরে দায়ূদ সিক্লগে যাইতেছেন, এমন সময়ে মনঃশি-সংক্রান্ত অদ্ন, যোষাবদ, যিদীয়েল, মীখায়েল, যোষাবদ, ইলীহূ ও সিল্লথয়, মনঃশিবংশীয় এই সহস্রপতিরা তাঁহার পক্ষে হইলেন।

As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.

আর তাঁহারা সৈন্যদলের বিপক্ষে দায়ূদের সাহায্য করিলেন, কারণ তাঁহারা সকলে বলবান বীর ছিলেন, এবং সৈন্যদলের সেনাপতি হইলেন।

They helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the host.
22
বস্তুতঃ সেই সময়ে দায়ূদের সাহায্যার্থে দিন দিন লোক আসিত, তাহাতে ঈশ্বরের সৈন্যদলের ন্যায় মহাসৈন্য হইল।

For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great host, like the host of God.

যে লোকেরা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্যানুসারে শৌলের রাজ্য হস্তান্তর করিয়া দায়ূদকে দিবার জন্য যুদ্ধার্থে সসজ্জ হইয়া হিব্রোণে তাঁহার নিকটে গিয়াছিল, তাহাদের সংখ্যা এই।

These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of Yahweh.

যিহূদা-সন্তানগণ ঢাল ও বড়শাধারী, যুদ্ধার্থে সসজ্জ ছয় সহস্র আট শত লোক।

The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
25
শিমিয়োন-সন্তানদের মধ্যে যুদ্ধে বলবান বীর সাত সহস্র এক শত লোক।

Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

লেবি-সন্তানদের মধ্যে চারি সহস্র ছয় শত লোক।

Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
27
আর যিহোয়াদা হারোণবংশের অধ্যক্ষ, এবং তাঁহার সঙ্গে তিন সহস্র সাত শত লোক;

Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred,

আর বীর্য্যবান যুবক সাদোক, ও তাঁহার পিতৃকুলের বাইশ জন সেনাপতি।

and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father's house twenty-two captains.

আর শৌলের জ্ঞাতি বিন্যামীন-সন্তানদের মধ্যে তিন সহস্র লোক; কারণ সেই সময় পর্য্যন্ত তাহাদের অধিকাংশ লোক শৌলের কুলের বশ্যতা স্বীকার করিত।

Of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.

আর ইফ্রয়িম-সন্তানদের মধ্যে বিংশতি সহস্র আট শত বলবান বীর, তাহারা আপন আপন পিতৃকুলে বিখ্যাত ছিল।

Of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers' houses.

আর মনঃশির অর্দ্ধবংশের মধ্যে আঠার সহস্র লোক, তাহারা আসিয়া যেন দায়ূদকে রাজা করে, তজ্জন্য আপন আপন নামে নির্দিষ্ট হইল।

Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.

আর ইষাখর-সন্তানদের মধ্যে দুই শত প্রধান লোক, তাহারা কালজ্ঞ লোক, ইস্রায়েলের কি কর্ত্তব্য তাহা জানিত, আর তাহাদের ভ্রাতারা সকলে তাহাদের আজ্ঞাবহ ছিল।

Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment.

সবূলূনের মধ্যে সৈন্যদলে গমনযোগ্য, সর্ব্ববিধ যুদ্ধাস্ত্র লইয়া সৈন্যরচনা করিতে নিপুণ পঞ্চাশ সহস্র লোক ছিল, তাহারা সংগ্রামে দ্বিমনা ছিল না।

Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the host, who could set the battle in array, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and who could order the battle array, and were not of double heart.

নপ্তালির মধ্যে এক সহস্র সেনাপতি ও তাহাদের সহিত ঢাল ও বড়শাধারী সাঁইত্রিশ সহস্র লোক।

Of Naphtali one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.

দানীয়দের মধ্যে সৈন্যরচনা করিতে নিপুন আটাইশ সহস্র ছয় শত লোক।

Of the Danites who could set the battle in array, twenty-eight thousand six hundred.

আশেরের মধ্যে সৈন্যদলে গমনযোগ্য, সৈন্যরচনা করিতে নিপুন চল্লিশ সহস্র লোক।

Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the host, who could set the battle in array, forty thousand.

আর যর্দ্দনের ওপারস্থ রূবেণীয়দের, গাদীয়দের ও মনঃশির অর্দ্ধবংশের মধ্যে যুদ্ধার্থে সর্ব্বপ্রকার অস্ত্রধারী এক লক্ষ বিংশতি সহস্র লোক।

On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, one hundred twenty thousand.

যুদ্ধে ও সৈন্যরচনায় নিপুণ এই সকল লোক দায়ূদকে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের উপরে রাজা করণার্থে একাগ্রচিত্তে হিব্রোণে আসিল, এবং ইস্রায়েলের অবশিষ্ট সকল লোকও দায়ূদকে রাজা করণার্থে একচিত্ত হইল।

All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

তাহারা তিন দিবস সেখানে দায়ূদের সহিত থাকিয়া ভোজন পান করিল; কেননা তাহাদের ভ্রাতৃগণ তাহাদের জন্য আয়োজন করিয়াছিল।

They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had made preparation for them.

অধিকন্তু ইষাখর, সবূলূন ও নপ্তালি প্রদেশ পর্য্যন্ত তাহাদের প্রতিবাসীরা, গর্দ্দভ, উষ্ট্র, অশ্বতর ও বলদের পৃষ্ঠে খাদ্য দ্রব্য, সূজীতে প্রস্তুত দ্রব্য, ডুমুরের চাপ, শুষ্ক দ্রাক্ষার থলুয়া, দ্রাক্ষারস ও তেল এবং বলদ ও মেষ অপর্য্যাপ্ত আনিল, কেননা ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে আনন্দ হইয়াছিল।

Moreover those who were near to them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Israel.
